Break if not handled well:

General Pov

Laura is at Liz's place. She has been at the door for about ten minutes contemplating on whether she should knock or just go back. She was still not sure about what to do. She knew very well that her friend needed time...alone but at the same time she was getting anxious. She was worried. Anyone would. The last time she was with her, she was not very fine.

After a few minutes of contemplation, she decided to knock at the door which was opened seconds later.

"Hey how are you?" Liz asked and walked away before Laura could even answer.

She re-appeared with two glasses of soft drink. Laura looked at her keenly trying to read her but she didn't notice anything.She was just the same Liz. Either she was fine or she was trying very hard to hide her problems.

"I was just passing by and thought of checking up on you."

Laura explained why she was there. Liz could tell that the first part was a lie...Laura didn't have any business in that side of the town.She decided to be cool about it, afterall her friend wanted to see her so she should be happy...right?

"About the morning thing i want you to know that it was not your fault."

Liz allover sudden became tensed.Laura noticed the change in her but did not say anything.She didn't want her friend to feel uncomfortable.

"I guess next time i should ask you for a list of acceptable meals for the kids." Elizabeth joked in order to break the tension that was between them.

"I'm down for that."

The two laughed it off. Laura was happy that she managed to solve that issue with her friend. She really wanted everything to be fine between them and it seemed they were back to normal...at least that's what she thought.

The atmosphere in the room became lively with the two having random conversations until Danny's issue came along. Danny was Liz's boyfriend.

"We broke up."

That came as a shock for Laura. Her best friend and Danny were so in love. Whenever they were together they acted as if others did not exist. Laura was even wondering why they were not yet married before this break up news.

She gave Liz a questioning look and Liz became defensive.

"It wasn't my fault just so you know."

Laura scoffed.

"I know you don't believe me but this time I'm honest. Maybe it was my fault just a little bit."

Laura gave her 'i knew it' look. She knew her friend very well.

"...just a tiny bit.He was the one who wanted us to break up."

"What happened?" Laura asked finally. Liz hesitated for a moment before giving her friend the details.

"He wanted us to get married but i was still not ready for that step, so we broke up."

Laura nodded. She understood that marriage was a big step but the two were very much in love. Why was her friend not willing to get married.

"You guys were so in love."

"It was the best thing to do." Liz said in finality. Laura understood that her friend did not want to talk more about it so they changed the subject.

Laura was enjoying her time with Liz that she did not realize that it was already getting late until Liz said, "If you stay much longer, you'll find your kids fast asleep."

Just then she realized their arrangement with Dario.

She took off her phone to text him only to realize that she did not have his number. She cursed inwardly.

Liz offered to see her out but she declined.

She couldn't risk Liz seeing Dario there waiting for her.

~~~
Dario's Pov.
Everything seemed to be going well. Laura was, afterall, not immune to my charms. I know you don't believe me but it's true.I caught her several times staring at me back then in the car. Not only that, i think she was nervous every time i stared at her. Just the thought that my presence had an effect on her was enough for now.
I lied.
I admit.
I had nothing to do in this neighborhood. I know, it sounds crazy but i just wished to spend some more time with her. I wished to see her smile again but this time because of me and not because of that little devil.
That smiled did some things to me that i don't want to share right now.
It was already 8PM in the evening.
I was still waiting for her. I know she has taken long but i do not regret offering to drive her back. I also needed to confirm something about that friend she was visiting.
Just as i was almost giving up, i saw her coming.Thank God.
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine get in."
I signalled her to get in.
"Seatbelt,"
Why was she nervous? I admit i liked the fact that my presence affected her but i did not expect it to be that extreme.
"Everything fine?"
I confirmed with her.She nodded meekly. This woman was showing me some sides of her that i never thought i could ever see. She looked very cute with that meek expression of hers that i wanted to pinch her cheeks.
Cheesy.I know.
The drive back was peacefully quiet. I did not even realize she had fallen asleep until i stopped when the traffic light had changed to red.
I took of my jacket and covered her. She was sleeping peacefully with her lips slightly opened as if inviting me to taste them.
"Careless."
I murmured.
I must say she was too careless to have dropped her guard around me. If at all she knew what i was thinking of doing to her, i bet she wouldn't have slept.
Anyway i don't blame her. Most people thought that i was gentleman who wouldn't do anything to a lady without her permission.That was true but sometimes it was hard moreso when a lady with alluring beauty and scent, whom you are crazy about is next to you.
We are at her place to be exact her gate. Just the thought of how much she was straining to make sure that everything goes well in her family prevented me from walking her up.
At least i got to watch her closely.
She is pretty for sure...with perfectly curved lips which needed alot of restraint from me to avoid. Outside she lookes brave...like she could deal with any problem that came her way. But in her sleep, she looked very delicate...like she could break anytime if not handled well.
"Stupid girl. Why don't you let others help you." I rebuked softly.
When did i even hold her hands?
I was really losing my mind.
It felt good. Her hands were very soft...yeah she was the pampered wife who had to work after becoming a widow. "Soon you will not have to work anymore." I had faith in us.
I didn't even know i had moved down much close to her until i heard a knock on the window on my side.
The man gave me a hard glare. Why was he even glaring at me. He was her driver for goodness sake or did i miss something? I was sure i did not.
As he carried my sleeping queen inside i felt uncomfortable.
I should have been the one doing that not him.
