Chapter 12: A missing child.

It has been four days since Jiang Xueyue was admitted into the hospital. During her stay in the hospital,she continuosly had the company of her family and Mo Sicheng.

Sometimes ,Mo Siting and Mo sitian would also come over to chat with her. The elder's of both the families were not allowed to come often as they could not travel back and forth due to their old age.

However,the ladies of the families would still come to get Jiang Xueyue to consume tonics and herbs.

Today, however not many people came as the males still had to report back in the military while Mo Sicheng had to go for an urgent matter related to the previous smuggling case.

Currently, Madam Jiang had went home to rest and would be coming back in the evening with Jiang XueYue's dinner while the first master of the Jiang family, Jiang XueYue's eldest brother, Jiang Xuejing accompanied her. The other two were busy with their respective duties and would come tomorrow to accompany their sister.

Jiang Xuejing sat besides the hospital bed watching over his sister as she had her lunch. They had to strictly watch her as this girl wouldn't eat the vegetables and sneak snacks through the nurse's secretly.

Although this girl was quite secretive with her methods, they still caught her. Their girl's mischievous side was clearly exposed now that she didn't hide herself in herself anymore.

Just take the incidence from yesterday, Jiang Xueyue had made friends with several young children in the hospital who regularly came to visit their elders. This Sneaky brat had actually eaten chicken wings given by her eleven years old "friend" next door.

Thus,they were quite aware of her antics and paid close attention to her.

Jiang Xueyue had her lunch with much difficulty under the watch of her big brother. She mentally cursed herself as she looked at her plain lunch again. Not only could she not have any meat from now but she was also caught in the act red-handed , leading into her embarassed state. Now,she did not dare to sulk over the mood anymore.

"I'm done, brother"

Jiang Xueyue said letting our a sigh of relief for finally emptying the Lunchbox with much difficulty.

"Good"

Jiang Xueyue said with a gentle tone, his heart melting at his little sister's childish behaviour. He too didn't like seeing his sister,who he had cherished like the pearl in his palms,so distressed yet he simply couldn't help it. She had to maintain her diet so she could recover quickly. Then he would make sure to let her have her favourites,till then they could only suffer with her as they watched her suffer.

Her weird antics made them unsure whether to laugh or cry in such situations. This girl wouldn't utter a word when her injuries were touched or when she went through check ups yet she would make a face as if she was facing death when she was served vegetables.

"I'm bored." Jiang Xueyue said with a smile on her face, fawning over her brother. Jiang Xuejing instantly sensed this brats scheming eyes and knew this girl surely had something up again.

"Let's go for a walk then,shall we?"

Jiang Xuejing said with a gentle smile, acting oblivious of her intentions. He would see what this brat was upto this time.

"Sure, let's go, it's been quite a while I've been out anyways."

Jiang Xueyue said with a nonchalant smile, acting all innocent.

Walking for a while was not at all a problem for Jiang Xueyue as her external injuries were almost healed while her left arm though would still take quite a lot of time to recover, however that was completely not a problem for her.

Jiang Xueyue was forced to wear a thick jacket by her big brother as it was middle of winter season. The Jiang siblings took the elevator to downstairs as Jiang XueYue's ward was on the seventh level of the building and walking down would have been tiring for the girl who was still recovering.

When the reached the garden of the hospital,there was not much crowd as it wae the resting time for most of the patients.

The afternoon of the winter was pleasant as the afternoon warmness complimented the chill of the winter. The weather was neither too warm nor too cold just the right environment to sit and feel ease looking at the nature.

Jiang Xueyue looked around the vicinity and finally spotted a swing meant to accommodate several people at the same time. It was the only vacant swing out of a dozen in the garden. Jiang Xueyue happily skipped towards the swing ,with excitement.

Just as she reached the swing,she bumped into a lump of meat causing her to look down on the ground only to find a small girl dressed in a blue jumpsuit with twin-tails on her little head.

The little girl stared at her with her big dark brown eyes,with clear and innocent gaze of a child.The girl was chubby with pale complexion. She was like a tiny princess.

"I'm sorry ,big sister,are you hurt?"

The child asked with her crisp soft voice filled with politeness.

"I'm sorry too,i wasn't careful and knocked into you,are you alright, Little girl."

Jiang Xueyue said in the most tender voice she could have while she bent down to meet the girls eyes. Jiang Xueyue oddly liked this child a lot at first sight,not only was this girl cute but she was also well-mannered,she didn't cry or act spoiled when she was knocked into and even politely apologised. She was truly a smart little darling.

"I'm also alright,big sister."The little girl said , smiling sweetly at Jiang Xueyue showing her two dimples, melting Jiang XueYue's heart into a mush.

Jiang Xueyue suddenly had the impulse to take this little cutie with her back home.

Jiang Xueyue suddenly remembered that this child was standing alone, making her worried.

" Little sweetheart, where are your parents,why are you out alone here."

"I'm waiting for my mom, she went to visit grandma but isn't back yet."

There was an evident Tremor in the child's voice, though she was trying not to cry ,her red eyes revealed her terror at not finding her mom.

This was after all a little child,how could she not be scared at not seeing her mom around her in a strange place.

"Child, it's alright, don't worry, sister will help you find your mother, alright? "

Jiang Xueyue said as she quickly hugged the little girl gently in her arms. The girls red eyes made her heart unstable for no reason. Though she liked children,she wouldn't take liberties to care for a child like this either.

However,this little girls dark brown,pure eyes filled with tears suffocated her till she could not breathe.

"Yue'er?"

Jiang Xuejing's deep voice sounded behind her.
