CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: A LEASH ON TWO

All the students were gathered in the classroom waiting for Miss Flora's arrival. While they waited, they discussed. Jade sat on Jake's lap while Dahlia sat next to Sky.

"Did you know about your cousin's secret?" Sky asked Dahlia annoyed. There was a moment of silence between them even though the class was noisy.

"Don't you dare lie to me Dahlia" Sky stressed.

"I knew about it" Dahlia confessed ashamedly of herself.

"Let me guess, you're not gonna tell me are you?" Sky said annoyed by Dahlia's confession.

"It's for your own good..."

"You know what, fuck the both of you. What kind of best friend keeps secrets from each other?" Sky declared and then she exchanged seats with a girl.

"Jake...we have to think of something" Dahlia said to herself.

Landon and his group of friends walked up to Jake and Jade. They all laughed as they got there.

"It's funny how you said you would never fall in love with Jade now you got the bitch sitting on your laps" Landon jeered as he high-five his group of friends. Jake pretended as though he didn't care.

"I'm talking to you pretty boy" Landon declared but Jake didn't say a word.

"Landon, don't be such a dick and leave us be, yeah?" Jade demanded but he pushed Jade off Jake's lap. What ran through Jake's mind was when Dahlia told him about how Landon had cheated on her with Jade and Holly. He began boiling but he didn't want to act out cause he knew he was going to badly hurt Landon.

"First off I smashed your pretty cousin over there" Landon said pointing towards Dahlia.

"Fuck you Landon" Dahlia cussed.

"Then I smashed your chick. Maybe I should just call you my garbage can..." Landon continued but got interrupted when Jake held him by the throat. He rose Landon up in the air. He had a firm grip on his throat and wouldn't let go. Landon tried to gasp for air but he couldn't.

"You're gonna kill him!" Tristan, one of Landon's friends yelped.

"Let him go babe" Jade plead but Jake's grip got stronger. Everyone in the classroom watched and all that went through their head was how a high school boy would be able to raise a whole Landon that high and have such a fearful grip on him.

"Apologise" Jake said to Landon angrily.

"I'm... I'm sorry dude" Landon said struggling to speak.

"Now to Dahlia" Jake demanded and he did as ordered.

"Forget about the football team Jake, you'll never get in after this shit you just pulled" Tristan declared as Jame dropped Landon back to the floor.

"I never gave a fuck about any of it" Jake declared as he went back to his seat. Everyone gazed mouth-opened at what Jake had done. They began clapping for him as Miss Flora entered the class.

"Oh my God, I didn't expect this appreciation. Even though I came late you all still showed me love. Thank you" Miss Flora declared thinking that the round of applause was for her. They all stared at her confused.

"I wanted to give a pop quiz today but I've decided not to... Or was this appreciation not for me?" Miss Flora asked confused at their confused faces.

"Of course it was for you, who else right?" One of the students lied as she clapped and the rest of the students joined in. Miss Flora smiled sheepishly as the whole of her class gave her a standing ovation.

After school, Landon and some of his guys from the football team went to the locker room to gossip about Jake.

"Jake humiliated you in front of everyone in the class. Now they are just gonna think Landon Tate is some fucking weakling!" Tristan declared angry at Landon for allowing Jake to treat him that way.

"Jake had this deadly grip on me. I hadn't surrendered, I would have been fucking six feet down!" Landon said in his defence.

"True. So what are we gonna do about Jake?" Justin, one of the guys asked.

"Show him who's alpha in this school" Landon declared as the rest of the boys cheered him on.

As Dahlia and Jake drove home, they discussed the scene he caused in class.

"Thank you for defending me, but you showed unhuman characteristics today, some people might have suspicions" Dahlia said worriedly.

"Honestly Dahlia, I really don't give a fuck if anyone finds out what I am. I'm tired of hiding things from Sky. I lost her probably forever all because of my stupid secret" Jake confessed angrily.

"I lost her too Jake, there are sacrifices one has to make and trust me when I tell you this Jake... We both made the right choice" Dahlia proclaimed patting Jake on his shoulders. When they had gotten home, they met Jade communicating with Dahlia's grandfather. They were both shocked to see her use sign language.

"Oh, my very good friends have arrived finally!" Jade proclaimed. Dahlia asked her grandfather what was going on but he refused to answer. He got up from the dining chair and retired to his room.

"Jade... Talk" Dahlia demanded angrily.

"I told your grand Daddy that I was you and Jake's best of friends and then he told me something very shocking that I as your best friend should have known. Long story short, Mr Kean doesn't know that he's harbouring a werewolf and listen very carefully. This is the part that will shock you the most... his granddaughter is a witch" Jade confessed with a huge smile on her face.

"Now I've got a leash on you bitch" Dahlia declared.

An Elder in Nathaniel's pack came to meet him saying that the moon goddess had a wish that must be granted. Her wish was for Jake to return as the rightful Alpha and that Celeste was to be his Luna. Nathaniel got angry. He didn't want that to happen. He tried to beg the moon goddess to make an overture but she didn't respond. He called the Delta of the pack; Liam who was just two years older than Jake to go and look for Jake and bring him back to the pack.
