"I did!" I argued.

"You didn't, if you hadn't questioned my motive for hastening us we wouldn't be here, drenched," Val spoke her mind and I'm having none of it.

"You aren't the one who had to wait under the rain for 'someone' to bring the car keys." I retorted.

"And that certain 'someone' slipped and almost fell in a rush to bring the car keys. Stop being ungrateful already!" Val scolded raising her voice.
