*****************23 June 1995**********************
The angels were sent down to earth to fix what was broken. The broken that could lead to the destruction of the planet. One angel decided to stay behind when all the other angels chose to return to the higher being. He fell into the flaws of men. He fell for a lady of the court who's worthy of his love and affection.
By staying behind, he lost the right to access heaven. His wings were gone. The only thing left in him was his purity. He cared not, nonetheless. As long as he has the woman he's dreaming of.
He watched her every day and made sure that no harm comes to her. With every passing day, his love grew. And finally, there was a day, he approached the dark brunette with uneasiness. He was hoping she would give him a chance. Her blue dress glowed around her petite frame while her dark auburn hair reached her lower back. Everything about her screamed--beauty. They instantly connected and all felt right.
Four months passed, and Carlo wanted to tell his true love what he was. But telling her could lead to much bloodshed. Julia fell pregnant and he could no longer hide the truth. He had to tell her. One night, he took her by her pale hands and pulled her towards the couch. Julia had never seen him so anxious and her heartbeat picked up. Carlo explained what he was and what he sacrificed with great sadness. He wanted and needed her to understand that he would do it all over again. He would die for her and their unborn baby.
Julia held his face in her hands and promised that it would work out fine. She promised they would fight against anything that means harm.
So with the vow's made, they fought against angels, demons, shifters, and hybrids. Julia reached her final weeks of pregnancy and could no longer fight with her beloved Carlo.
Carlo went on a hunt after shifters caused chaos amongst the town's people. He had no other choice but to leave Julia on her own. What neither of them expected was for Julia to go into labor. It came of a sudden and with no medical assistance from the town's doctor, her chances of successfully giving birth were slim. And that's the time, two warrior angels appeared by her side as she began to push her baby. She screamed at them to leave but they stayed watching until her baby was gasping for breath on the wooden floor. Blood decorated the wood as Julia tried to get her baby to breathe. She's not caring about her own life at that very moment.
Her baby let out a strangling cry and tears of joy filled her eyes. The angels came closer, watching her as she cleaned her baby girl. They both knew what would happen and they both waited.
Her body collapsed on the floor as the life drains from her eyes. Her soul slowly detached from her body. The door swung open, and Carlo stormed in. He saw his baby girl crying and his pale wife from the blood loss. As he crackled his wife's body, the angels appeared. They made him an offer.
Twenty-four years from now, he shall give up his life on earth and return to heaven for his wife's life. He would've done anything to save her from the reaper. So he agreed with the deal.

*******************Anna POV***********************
"How was the practice, Sis? Broke any hearts yet?" I asked my little sister. She was laying--head on her elbows. Her small braids fell out of the pink pin that kept them in place. She looked tired and sweaty, and I couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. She has a normal life one I could only dream about.
She sighed and rubbed her sleepy eyes and gave me a pointy look. "If we're having the boyfriend discussion then I'm not interested." She huffed and fell back to her sleeping position. Her smile made its way to my lips.
I was currently coating the chicken before shoving it into the oven. "So I assume no one fits your list of the perfect boy huh?" I knew I was scratching in a dangerous tiger's territory but teasing her made my day a little better.
She groaned and lifted completely, crossing her arms and glaring at me with her deadly stormy blue eyes. "At least I have a list. What did I hear about you finding your light?"
She caught me this time. Maybe, I should have kept my mouth shut. "Who told you that?" I asked innocently, playing the dumb card was easy.
"Do you want to know?" she asked excitingly, making me narrow my eyes in suspicion.
"Yes," I answered carefully, relaxing my back against the counter that reached my lower back.
Her smile grew while her eyes sparkled. "Well, Jax told me that Evangeline told him that Dex found his mate. So, Jax asked his brother who is Cassandra's best friend, who by the way...." she took a deep breath and continued, "Is the head paramedic's girlfriend. Her father, the police officer had to convince Dex not to take you. Well, he is her Dad."
My jaw dropped after hearing this. "W....t....f!?" I exclaimed, "Avery..." I sighed, letting the words completely sink in. I knew by all the talks we had, that gossip was one of the most active activities in college. It looks like I never understood the seriousness of the situation. Well, at least, I have a name now, I thought, opening the oven to check the chicken. Brownish skin met my eyes and the smell made my stomach rumble.
"Damn!" Avery whistles lowly, coming over to check on the chicken as well. Finding it was cooked expertly, she drooled. "You should become a chef."
I huffed and rolled my eyes. "You're only saying that. Compared to your burned toast and popcorn, mine does look like an improvement." Then, I pulled the towel out of the drawer. "Oh, I see you always disappear after eating. But this time, be so kind and help me. Get the plates ready."
"I never disappear!" she retorted, narrowing her eyes. She turned on her heel and started setting the table. "Dishes just ain't my thing."
"Neither is cooking or cleaning...or--" I added, smiling at the look she was giving me. Her pale white hands on her hips, eyes narrowed, cheeks a flaming hot pink, and most of all--her lip twitched. That means I was going to be chased by an angry Barbie girl.
"You better not finish that sentence!" she hissed.
Both my eyebrows raise in suspicion. "Again?" I asked smiling. "Last time, you went all Jane on my arse....you slipped, hit your head against the corner of the table, left blood on the floor--oh, and let's not forget all the whining."
Her upper lip lifted into a snarl before she ran to me. Her hands tried to grab me but I ducked and grabbed her into a headlock, scrubbing my knuckles against her hair until my finger started to burn. She squealed, pushing me away. She grabbed the jar full of water and aims it at me
"Water is your thing right?" she questioned.
I replied with a grin. "So this won't be a problem then." And she threw the water at me.
Just as the water lightly grazed my skin, I froze it and moved it over to the sink. "Water...." I clicked my tongue a couple of times before swinging my hand over to where Avery stood. The water flew over and before she could even duck. It soaked her. "...is my thing." I finished and left Avery cursing under her breath.
"You b--" she started to tell but my eyes flashed, silencing her.
"You better not finish that sentence!" I growled, and her lips pulled into a sinister smile.
"Or what?" she questioned, shaking her wet hair like a dog. "A bitch stays a bitch. Why sugar coat the fact?"
The window in our kitchen slammed close as my hands shake. "Don't, Avery!" I growled again, gripping the counter.
She chuckled, pushing me further. "Oh, our Guardian doesn't like to be called a bitch. What a shame!" she laughed evilly and I lose it.
The storm that I formed with my bad mood flashed outside. My hands were lit with bright flames as my breathing became ragged. I didn't like to be called a bitch. It's a word that triggered a wave of anger that Avery saw once. She ended up in the hospital. "You better get out of here before I do something I can't control."
She looked at me with big round eyes before grabbing her coat from the chair. "I didn't mean it. I was just joking," she yelled running out of the kitchen.
My breathing was just about to turn back to normal when gunshots rang through the air. My head whipped around before my feet twisted awkwardly. I was running up the stairs at a speed I never used before. "Avery?"I called frantically in search of my younger sister."Avery!"I yelled again. I searched her room, bathrooms, and guest bedroom.
"Jess?" Her voice croaked as her head came from under the bed. "Oh my God, I thought..." she crawled out while I close the door silently. "I thought you lost it completely."
"Stay down," I ordered, standing against the closet. My heart was beating so loudly. My blood was humming and my skin was aching from the rush of adrenaline and power that was flowing through my veins. I wanted to hold my sister so bad. But her safety was my first responsibility."Get on the other side and stay low."
She immediately did what I instructed while I closed my eyes for concentration.
"Jeeeessssiiiiccca." A voice called and my eyes opened. Whoever that was, sounded sure of themselves and cocky as hell. I raised my finger to my lips, showing Avery to stay quiet while I moved closer to the door.
I was just about to reach for the handle when it flew open. I jumped back and let my power forward. Three men, all dressed in jeans and no upper body clothing entered. My hand was burning from grabbing one's neck. The skin under my hand sizzled and my foot kicked right to strike the one reaching for me. The third man came from behind, praying my hands from the guy's throat. I was ready to rip them all apart until I felt him. I felt the rush through my veins. I felt the jumping of my heart. I felt the heat biting my skin and most of all--I felt numb. My hand released the guy's throat, allowing them to grab both my arms and knocked me to the ground.
My face pushed into the carpet while I tried searching for the one responsible for my reaction. I could see black pointy shoes and black jeans. My neck never felt so stiff. "Well, well, the guardian can go numb. That's interesting." A man mocked and my stomach twisted.

**********************Dex POV**********************
Her breathing came out rushed, her hair covered her face from my shit-eating grin. I never meant to scare her or harm her, but, in my defense, I was going crazy without her. I never thought that this would be easy, I was prepared for her to fight me, I wanted her to lay it into me.
So that's what I aimed for when I kneeled to her ear, "A weak guardian, looks like lucifer will have your sister first." I was reaching out blindly, I aimed at her heart. The ground shook and I steadied myself just in time to see her throw my two warriors off. Her eyes glowed like a white light in the dark tunnel, her hair floated around her. She gave me a wicked and most gorgeous grin, it looked scary and sexy as hell.
Her head tilted to the side as two white silky wings appeared from her back, it covered almost the whole bedroom. My heart stopped until my wolf pushed me forward. We both wanted this reaction, we both wanted to see how strong our mate was, even when we'll get our ass handed to us on a silver platter.
"Give me one reason..." she floats over, her wings moving slowly behind her." why shouldn't I kill you?" she finishes and I felt the shocking waves sizzle between us.
"I'm your mate."I state watching her bite her bottom lip."You need me."
My voice was hoarse with lust, I wanted her naked under me so bad, I wanted all of her. She on the other hand had a different idea, she touched my jaw gently and I lost it. Grabbing her behind her neck I crash my lips onto hers with hunger, for a second she kissed me back until I was laying flat on my back. Her legs straddled me while her hands hovered over my chest, her seductive look changed into a grin and before I could react, she threw me against the closet. The door came off, shattering into a couple of pieces.
My wolf scratched to be let out and I let him. Black fur took place while my bones cracked and shifted into place. My wolf gave her a warning growl to which she answers with a low chuckle. We launch forward letting our front paw Pierce her skin, she looked down at the open cut with a smug look.
"Ohhh...." she sings, "Kitty scratches!" chuckling lowly her eyes flash from white to silver and before I could jump away, a white glow hits us square in the chest.
My beast scratched the carpet with fury, trying but failing to get up. He wanted her to surrender to us, but, looks like we'll be the ones surrendering. Her head tilts while her hand lifts, palm facing upwards." So..." she looks at her palms than at us."Do I pass your test?"
My wolf purrs and I wanted to slap him for being so easy. Forcing him Back I take control, shifting to my human form while she watches innocently."That depends..."I reply.
"On what?" she asks cautiously, letting her eyes flash with warning.
"If you come with me the easy way."
The room went still for a second, her eyes narrowed."What if I choose the hard way?" she asks lowly.
"Then, baby you're in on the ride of your life."
"Bring it." she counters, shooting a white light my way. My eyes close to the pain.
"Alpha?"A voice calls and I open my eyes only to be met by grey ones."What happened to you?"
"My mate."I crumble, taking in my pack house. She zapped me away.
I'm sure I'm on the naughty list, why would God pair me with the one person that could kill me?
