Memories of the Dark: "Gold Representatives"

Lianna Morris,

"I can't believe myself right now!" I got lost trying to look for Cedany.

I looked around my surroundings and all the hallways looked the same. I despise having no sense of direction, it's a curse. I knew I shouldn't have followed Cedany, it just led me to my doom.

"Lianna?" A soft voice behind me asked. I knew that it was Cedany, the moment she said a word. "What are you doing wandering around?" Cedany walked toward me.

"I went to look for you, instead I got lost! " I explained until I noticed that there was a guy behind her, "Who's the little guy?" I whispered to Cedany as she let out a loud laugh. I looked at her, I was a bit dumbfounded.

"I heard that you know!" The guy behind Cedany had his hands clenched into a fist.

"Oops..." I muttered. "I didn't mean to offend you, good sir." Sweat dripped from my forehead.

"This is Gavin Daft, he's the friend Lief was talking about."

I looked back and forth at them. I could feel the aura between these two was different.

"Oho! Is that so?" I raised my other eyebrow while looking at Gavin. Gavin noticed and he looked away blushing. "So... Lief's friend, Gavin, right? What were you guys doing while I was looking for Cedany?" I teased, even though I don't like it when men start to flirt with Cedany.

"I— I accidentally walked in on her naked!" Gavin explained as he bowed his head in embarrassment.

"What?! Are you trying to get yourself killed right now?!"

I was about to choke him, however before I could do that Cedany held both my arm so I won't be able to do anything to Gavin.

"Calm down. It was an accident and he already apologized."

Cedany was trying to calm me down. She managed to do so and I apologized to Gavin for almost trying to choke him to death.

"Why don't we go back and forget everything that happened?" Gavin suggested.

"How could I forget that a fine gentleman like you kissed my precious hand?"

Cedany batted her eyes, I knew she said that only to tease him. However I can't help, but get enraged.

"What now?!" I was ready to attack Gavin again, but this time it was Gavin who stopped me from arranging his funeral which shocked me. "I knew you had a hidden motive! I was right all along!" I gasped and caught his collar.

"No! I didn't do anything, it was just an accident that I opened the door. I left something inside the washroom. And about kissing the back of her hand, Lief did that to Peronell so I thought I'd do the same!" Gavin immediately explained and I stopped shaking him.

"So this is all Peronell's boyfriend's fault, huh."

I sounded like a thug as I had already planned a funeral for him inside my head.

"What? Peronell's boyfriend? He is no one's boyfriend!"

Gavin suddenly became possessive as we watch him show his frustration. I kind of understand him, since I'm also like that when it comes to Cedany.

"Calm down. Who are you? Lief's boyfriend?" I asked, it was not a serious question.

"I wouldn't say I'm his boyfriend, but I guess something quite close to that."

Gavin confessed as I gasped. It is quite shocking, but entertaining to hear as well.

"How disappointing indeed. I guess our time together meant nothing to you?"

Cedany brought out her handkerchief to wipe her imaginary tears. I got to give it to her, she's a great actress. She even got me fooled for a second.

"That was just an act of kindness, which I don't usually do for other people. Don't get me wrong. I just felt bad that I walked in on you with indecent undergarments." Gavin had seriousness in his voice.

Cedany looked at me in disbelief. This guy doesn't know the word irony? He looks like a person who always uses irony in his words. How come he's being slow-witted right now?

"I do believe you're misunderstanding Miss Shaw's intentions. She intends to tease you and hope that you'll play along. So how come I feel like you're rejecting Cedany?! Even if it's just you playing along or not, I don't care! You reject her, you have a problem with me! No one should reject a beauty like Cedany Shaw!" I attacked him.

Peronell Keen,

I was having a conversation with Lief and a wild Gavin suddenly sat beside me. He looked like he got into a fight of some sort.

"You're a mess. What happened to you?" Lief asked Gavin who was next to me.

"I—" Gavin replied, he was staring at the wall as we just stared at him out of curiosity.

Waiting for him to speak up, I decided to finally say something.

"I don't think he's alright." I looked at Lief.

"Are you okay, buddy? Did someone start a fight with you?"

Lief bombarded Gavin with questions.

"I don't want to talk about it, she might hear me." Gavin looked around worriedly.

"Are you hiding from someone? If that is what's happening then you should hide inside our compartment. Let me escort you, you seem unstable."

Lief helped Gavin and excused himself to me as I just nodded at him.

Now, where should I go? I don't know where the compartment that was assigned to me is. I should still probably go look for it though, I can ask the people around. Still, I can't believe that I'm away from Mr. Brown. I hope he is doing well right now.

"Peronell Keen? Am I right?" A guy asked me, he had a smirk on his face that left me dumbfounded.

Why is he looking at me with that stupid expression?

"Yes, and you are?" I just hate these kinds of men, I guess you can say that I'm provoked by them.

"I'm Tristan Everett, the most beautiful man alive."

I stared at him in awe, more like in disbelief that a man like this still exists. Does he know that most men have blonde hair and green eyes just like his? How can he possibly be different from the other men?

"I see, are you also a representative?"

I suddenly remembered that there was another one we haven't met yet.

"Yes, and it seems like we'll be sharing a compartment." Tristan shrugged.

"What? But you're a guy."

I mean how can they let two opposite gender in one room? Are they out of their minds? Opposite genders are not allowed to share a room unless they are betrothed to each other, it's just how it is in this society.

"It's only for now, when we're in the Academy such thing like this won't happen. And don't worry about me doing anything to you. I would never do it with an unattractive woman like you." Tristan continued to walk.

"This piece of shit and his audacity." I muttered so he wouldn't hear as I followed him to the compartment.

We got inside our room, and it wasn't that bad. There were two beds and they were not close to each other. The only problem was that it was not clean, to simply put it, it's dirty.

"Ugh! Disgusting. This place is dirty." Tristan just stood there, dumbstruck.

"You don't say, but I'm tired so whatever." I lay down on a bed.

I heard Tristan sigh as he sat down on the other bed. I saw him bring out a small mirror and looked at the sides of his face as if checking if there was any kind of imperfections. I just rolled my eyes at him and went to sleep.

Cedany Shaw,

Lianna and I are currently inside the room that was provided to us as we unpacked some things and changed into our nightgowns. I was putting on a moisturizer on my face when suddenly the door busted open. There were two familiar figures, it was Lief and Gavin. Gavin's eyes met Lianna's as he immediately hid behind Lief.

"Ehem, what are you guys doing here?" Gavin sounded a bit manlier than his usual voice.

"Why are you hiding behind me?"

Lief turned to Gavin as Gavin gave him an annoyed look.

"Can't you see the situation right now?!" Gavin whispered to Lief.

They don't seem to know that we can hear them as well. I look at Lianna and she scowled at Gavin.

"This is the compartment that they assigned to us." Lianna explained and Lief nodded as he understood.

"Well then! The guys should be the ones at the top bunk since we don't want the ladies to struggle." Lief went up to the other side of the bed where Lianna's bed is.

"Are you looking down on us because we're girls?" Lianna was annoyed.

"He just doesn't want you guys to struggle, there's nothing more into it," Gavin explained as he looked away from Lianna who was glaring at him. "Do you mind?" Gavin was about to go up to the top bunk.

"No, go ahead." I answered.

He looked away from me and continued to climb up.

"I'm gonna turn off the lights now. Goodnight and sleep well, Cedany!" Lianna said and I replied 'you too'.

A few hours have passed and I could hear a groan. I started to realize that the bed was shaking. I got up from my bed to see where it was coming from, so I lit up a candle and looked at Gavin who was sweating. His eyes were closed and he was mumbling things. He was having nightmares.

I went up to his bed with a towel in my hand, I slowly wiped away his sweat and he slowly starts to calm down. I sighed and I was ready to climb down, however before I was about to, a hand stopped me. I looked at Gavin who was holding my hand his eyes were half-opened.

"Don't leave me. Please don't go, stay with me..." Gavin's voice was gentle.

I panicked inside because I don't know what to do. Gavin gently pulled me towards him, he hugged me tightly by the waist and I was frozen in place. His smell was familiar, it reminded me of a childhood friend of mine.

"Gavin? Are you alright?"

I saw tears drop from his cheeks. I wiped it away with the towel I was holding. I looked at his face and it looked so familiar like I'd met him before.

"I thought that I would never see you again, but here you are. Surprising me with your sudden appearance, did you know I had a hard time without you? I tried so hard to forget you, but I always knew that I couldn't." Gavin whispered and I was surprised. Is he? No, he couldn't be him.

"I may not know what you're talking about, but if you need someone I'll be here to help."

When the words came out of my mouth, I could feel Gavin's grip tightening around me. I just met him, however, there was a familiarity in him that I can't help but put my guard down. I didn't notice as my eyelids were getting heavy.

Lianna Morris,

It was early in the morning and I noticed that Cedany wasn't on her bed. I looked up at Gavin and gasped loudly, enough for Lief to hear.

"Even in the morning, you're very energetic..."

Lief groaned with his husky morning voice.

"Wow... your voice just now was really attractive!"

I complimented him with a hand on my mouth trying to hide my smile.

"That was random... Anyways what happened?" Lief asked as he got up from his bed and noticed the two sleeping figures. "Gavin?!" He yelped in a feminine tone which made me look at him. "He's finally a grown-up..." Lief wiped away an imaginary tear.

"Could you tell your friend to get his ass up and remove his dirty hands around what's mine?!"

I got annoyed when I noticed that Gavin's hand was around Cedany's waist. The sight was enough to make my eyes teary.

"Shouldn't you be scolding your friend instead? I mean she's in my friend's bed. She's the one who's taking advantage of my poor innocent friend. Gavin would never touch a girl. I'm telling you that is a fact, he only ever touches me... That kinda came out wrong."

Lief was suddenly lost in his train of thoughts. These gay men are something else. I looked up at Gavin and Cedany as I started to feel betrayed.

"Argh!! I can't handle this anymore! I'm gonna head for fresh air, the betrayal I feel right now! It hurts! I'm in agony!"

I ran away from the scene like I was from the novels that I've read where the protagonist got cheated on.

"Wait for me! You can't just leave me here!" I could hear Lief from behind me.
