Chapter 229: RWBY Prime—Hero from Another World (15)

~Third POV~

Back at the crater, a group of civilians is brought down to the crater via an elevator, as Joanna makes her way inside a tent. Inside, Fiona is seen writing notes on a map while talking to someone through her earpiece.

Once the conversation is done, Fiona sits down with a sigh, while Joanna throws some fire dust at a small furnace.

The two eventually make their way out of the tent to inspect the latest group of civilians just as Jaune, Yang, Ren, and Oscar make their way towards them with Yang speaking, "That would be Sector 7."

Fiona smiled at their work and complemented their efforts despite all of their lacking teammates not being present, "You cleared 7 already? That's great! To be honest, I wasn't sure how you'd be doing without all of your teammates."

Ren turns around and walks away from the group while Jaune watches him go as the group talks about how the situation is going for the people within the Crater as various civilians are seen settling in while they talk.

As the group talks to Joanna about the situation and the unsettling unease of the Grimm waiting as if stalking them but was interrupted by Fiona's uncle walking up to the group in a panic, "Fi! We got another fight breaking out."

Fiona sighs at this as Joanna puts a hand on Fiona's shoulder supporting her, "I'll handle it. You've got enough to worry about."

Joanna Walks away while cracking her knuckles before a voice is heard from Fiona's earpiece hearing in from Crimson, "Fiona? Crimson again. We spotted a decent-sized group of Grimm moving in from the east. Can't take them with all these civvies."

Fionna pulls the map out with her semblance to inspect it with Fiona speaking getting Jaune, Yang, and Oscar looking at each other Yang talking to Fiona, "Did he say east?"

Yang is seen riding her hover bike in the city while being chased by a Teryx. Ren and Oscar are following them on a side street while sharing another hoverbike, with ren as the driver.

*Woosh*

Oscar pulls out a device that looks like a stick grenade. Yang takes a couple of shots at the Teryx to slow it down yelling out, "Now!"

Yang passes a rock bridge where the Grimm-like figure from earlier was perched. It decides to quickly dash off of the bridge before the Teryx collides with it.

Ren turns right and cuts in between Yang and the Teryx, allowing Oscar to throw the grenade in the Grimm's path. It explodes in a flash of wind dust, launching the Teryx into the stone bridge, breaking one of its wings, and knocking it to the ground.

Yang turns her bike around and smirks at the Grimm. She moves the bike to the side, allowing Jaune to charge at the Teryx while standing on his hoverbike, with the barrier dust on his shield active.

He successfully decapitates the Grimm, after which he has some trouble maintaining his balance on the bike. He lands on it properly while giving a nervous chuckle as Yang contacts Fiona, "Sigh… Okay, Fiona. That's one more problem taken care of."

Fiona thanks Yang's group for the support in eliminating Grimm in the East sector, "Good, 'cause we're getting reports of more Grimm coming in from the west. The Huntsmen there could really use some backup."

Yang sighs as she slumps in her seat but regardless accepts the call, "Okay. We're on our way."

Oscar points out the Grimm's behavior but despite it all only the stragglers are reacting, "It's all the negativity. Salem's forces aren't moving in, but it's enough to start attracting the stragglers."

Ren responds to the group in a tired tone, "Guys, we're not finished."

Three Sabyr appear and charge towards the group with Yang giving out a command, "All right. We need to hurry this up and take—"

The Sabyr's look to their right before turning back and running in the opposite direction surprising the group with Ren speaking what happened, "What just happened?"

Jaune is equally as confused about the scene they just saw, "They ran. I've never seen Grimm act that way before."

Oscar agreed but then soon questions their reason for running away, "But what were they running fro—"

*WOOSH*

*THUD*

Oscar is suddenly tackled from above by the Grimm originally perched on the bridge, dubbed by The Hound, knocking both him and Ren off the bike. Oscar tries to stand up only to be bitten by the arm and get flung to the ground once more.

"Oscar!"

The Grimm pounces on Oscar with all its weight, causing his aura to shimmer. Oscar tries to kick one of its legs away, only for The Hound to bite it and knocks him to the ground a third time. With a final swipe of its paw, Oscar's aura breaks, and he goes unconscious.

*BAM*

The Hound howls before its body begin to twitch and spasm. Its body pulses and morphs, as Jaune looks on in horror.

The Hound stands up, revealing that he assumed a bipedal form in order to lift and hold the unconscious Oscar with one hand.

Yang finally wakes up from her stupor and charges the beast, preparing to punch it, "Oscar!"

A look of panic crosses her face before she grabs the handle in order to try to turn away from the Grimm.

The Hound catches her with its other hand and throws her at a nearby wall, cracking it.

*CREAK*

*Bang*

Ren takes a couple of shots at The Hound's back, causing it to turn around and be stabbed by the grappling hooks of Ren's guns. Ren reels the hooks in, intending to kick the Grimm. The Hound's right-hand pulses before it grows longer, allowing it to whip Ren off of his bike and into another wall.

Jaune Prepares to charge in as well before The hound lifts Oscar in between it and Jaune but suddenly Yang calls off Jaune's attack noticing what The hound is doing, "Wait! It's using Oscar as a shield."

Jaune stops and recoils at the idea and mumbles the impossibility of it being the case, "But Grimm isn't that smart."

Ren picks up his guns and aims at the Grimm. The Hound overhears and places Oscar in between it and Ren yelling at it, "Give him back!"

The Hound's neck pulses and shifts responding to them, "No."

Ren, Jaune, and Yang look on in shock as the Hound starts to walk away from the group with Jaune stating in shock, "Did it just...?"

The Hound pauses, its back pulsing and morphing again. Several cracks could be heard as it twitched and howled.

"ROOAARRR!!!"

With a final roar, a black ooze erupts from its back to reveal wings. One such drop falls on Oscar's face.

It grabs Oscar with its mouth, before taking off to the skies. Yang lifts herself up as Fiona contacts them through her earpiece over comms, "Kids, what's your status? West side's taking damage."

Ren questions what they should do with the sudden new Grimm shaking him, "What do we do?"

Fiona again tries to speak over through the comms, "Kids. What's your status?"

Yang, Ren, and Jaune scramble in order to follow The Hound on their hoverbikes as Yang responded to Fiona, "We've got an emergency, we're not going to make it. You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

The Hound is seen flying away but –

*WOOSH*

*BAM*

"Argh!"

Suddenly being assaulted by Penny with her Steel Wings active as a means to fly holding onto Oscar colliding against it forcing The Hound to release him with Penny grabbing him, "No worries citizen for the Protector of Mantle is here!"

"Penny?!!"

Seeing the same green attire on Penny as well as her face as the mask fell off when she pushed The Hound but then the group noticed something off about her as her appearance to the one they knew was off with Jaune speaking, "Wait wasn't she with Ruby and the others? If she's here then are they –"

"GET THE BOY!!"

Before they had anything else to think about The Hound began to get up again sounding angrier Penny glared down at the Grimmified monstrosity as her Power Ring shined a brilliant green expressing her Will Power to save her home, "Grimm… always going to be a royal pain in my metaphorical ass. Great."

At this, the group paused listening to Penny's words before noticing how… human she spoke out knowing for sure something was way off Penny goes down to ground level dropping Oscar down as he finally began to regain consciousness again.

Oscar began to mumble but seeing Penny saving him at the last second responded in surprise noticing her aura, "Wait Penny?! I thought you were with –"

Before he could continue Ozpin began to talk to him equally surprised and confused by the tone through Oscar's mind, 'No. She's not Penny well… not the Penny you all know. Her aura… it's comparable to Penny's and yet not at all like her aura. She's different. Someone else entirely... different...'

Listening to Ozpin's assessment sensing the Aura of G. Penny different from the one she knew G. Penny began to smile contently with her mask still on till she sees it on the ground, "Whoops? I wasn't supposed to show my face. Eh… you all wouldn't happen to forget everything you saw, today would you?"

At this everyone was confused by soon the loud sounds of rumbling with a group of Sabyr's and Teryx coming in getting the group's attention as The Hound pointed at them, "GET THE BOY!! ARGH!!"

Twitching and spasming the groups of Grimm began to rush after them with Oscar soon following towards Yang's ride as Penny stares down at the group activating her Steel Wings changing into large energy cannons, "I don't have time for you Grimm. Do me a massive favor and just go away."

*Shiii*

*PEW*

Making her point the mecha shift energy cannon wiped off the group in an instant as The Hound observed the scene its eyes landed on Yang's group growling almost leading towards a pounce…

*SHING*

"RAGHH!!!!"

But suddenly a metal spike pierced through its mid-section actively anchoring it in place while it growls in pain with Pyrrha's mask on revealing herself from behind The Hound, "Sorry but none of that. The last thing we need is you going off commanding Grimm. You might've been a good person before becoming this but… I will take away you're suffering."

Growling trying to escape from behind Pyrrha more metal spikes were prepared from behind as Jaune and Ren's eyes widen feeling a familiar aura sensing from above the rooftop as they stopped to look up.

Seeing the noticeable Semblance being used Jaune was caught in a daze mumbling to himself in disbelief sensing the aura being used, "Pyrrha… no it can't be but this aura… it feels off but I know it's hers for sure…"

*SHING*

The Hound was pierced more times effectively killing it off as the group soon see it dissipate like Grimm but shocked and horror-filled expressions were seen as it left off a skeleton of a person as Pyrrha and Penny flinch seeing the results of Salem's work.

Pyrrha could only frown shaking her quietly and speaking to herself apologizing to the person that once was a Faunus, "I'm sorry you have to go through this..."

Stepping down in her all too familiar armor making Ren and Jaune stop seeing a team member who thought dead was walking among the living Oscar and Yang sensed Pyrrha's aura but the shock was clearly evident in their faces as Penny goes towards her.

Once Penny was side by side with Pyrrha gazing at the shocked expression of Yang's group with a defeated sigh she finally responds getting Ren and Jaune to be conflicted but yet happy at the same time hearing her voice once more, "Sorry but as much as I you all would like to talk, we have work to be done. And judging from your expressions and emotions… We'll explain everything we can later. After we get the people of Mantle to safety first."

Jaune was the first to act as Pyrrha turns away from them wanting answers, "Wait Pyrrha…!"

Before anyone could interrupt or try anything Penny and Pyrrha flew off using her Semblance and Penny's Power Ring leaving Yang to question to herself in confusion, "What just happened?"

Listening to her words the group was left silent with no response to be heard for her answer…
