The witch wasn't discouraged by her words, instead, she was analyzing the structure of the barrier. She was good at destroying things as the spirit said before. Therefore, she was looking for a loophole in her magic since every magic has a weakness.
On the other hand, the spirit was calmly looking at her. She knew this child would bring ruin to this continent, but she couldn't bring herself to kill her even though she was already 200 years old. Her eyes were filled with melancholy and pity for her.
With a gentle movement of her hand, she created a barrier that was able to seal anything inside of it. She hid it in her sleeve as she walked towards her gracefully.
Step*
The gentle sound of shoes walking on the dust came to her ears like it was the wind. The witch knew her time was running out. Knowing she would be sealed again if she doesn't solve her power fast, witch hastened her movements. Every cell of her brain were processing power beyond any human arcanist could do. At this moment, she was a Demi-God who was reaching way to the God level. She became a level 9 mage who could overthrow any country in this world, but that wasn't enough.
Silver rays of the moonlight pierced through clouds to illuminate the face of the ethereal face of the spirit. Unlike her old look, she looks like a beautiful woman now. Her hair was reaching the floor and her shrine maiden outfit was gently breezing through the ground without any stains.
Her eyes were filled with regret even though she was trying to seal her again. The witch bit her lips to wake up her drowsiness. She will be finished if she doesn't move now.
" I don't want it."
Her eyes were burning with rage.
Drip*
Black substances trickled down her face. She challenged the hegemony of the realm. She faced the brightest with her darkest. Her heart froze with the icy flame that burned everything.
Clack*
The spirit opened her eyes wide with terror because she broke her barrier with the power of destruction. The shattering sound of glass reached the ears of the witch, who was drowned by her rage. She grabbed the throat of the immortal and lifted her from the ground with a single movement of hers. Her beautiful hands were dyed with a color of the deepest of hell.
The spirit tried to use her power, but she stopped midway because she saw the crying girl inside of her mind. She was cursing everything because she was alone and abandoned in the darkness.
The spirit gently reached out her hand and patted her head like a mother who was acknowledging her daughter. She forgot her goal and embraced this lonely soul who was entrapped in the deepest of the abyss.
" Don't cry anymore. Someday you will meet someone worthy of your dreams. Until then sleep my girl, I will feed my soul to you."
The spirit said, looking into her eyes. The witch was woken up by her words, she gripped her throat even harder to stop her, but it was too late. The spirit was determined to sacrifice herself and save her fallen soul which was eroded by her power.
The witch recalled the words of her first master.
" Harmony doesn't mean balance between good and evil. Harmony is the connection between life and death. It can be cruel as death, but it can also be gentle as life."
The spirit placed her index finger on her head and chanted her last spell. The witch felt sudden drowsiness from deep in her soul.
Crack*
The wood gently wrapped her and turned into a stone. All she saw was the face of the spirit who was smiling and disappearing into particles.
" Goodbye, child. He will arrive here soon."
The spirit said, looking at the horizon of the sky. The witch wanted to ask what was she talking about, but she fell to sleep. This time it wasn't in a cold dark cave, it was a beautiful place with green and light.
The spirit sat down on the ground and looked up at the moon. She sighed with a helpless look.
" Lua, come out."
She spoke, turning her head to the entrance of the shrine. She saw a girl who was tearing up with sadness.
" Grandmother, are you leaving me? What happened to brother and Master?"
