Chapter 15 Traveling to the town

Ego weapons are powerful beings that are essential weapon of spirit. Their power continues to grow until they are either destroyed or sealed away. Therefore, many seek ego weapons for their weapon, but only a few were selected by these powerful beings.

Grey was walking on the road with a carefree expression since no enemy could threaten his existence. His sword made a clicking sound with every step he took like it was trying to pace with its master.

Two little fellows sat on his head while pointing at the new things that mesmerized them. They never saw something else except their home.

They saw new spirits, roads, and animals. It was pretty interesting to see a giant centipede that was running so quickly under the tree. Its hideous face was terrible enough to scare away others and it had nasty poison which could paralyze any living beings, but Grey cleaved him in half without any effort.

The blood rained around the area, painting the trees in purple color of venom.

Light gently hit Grey's head to stop doing this thing. The trees and animals would be poisoned by its residue. Moreover, spirits hated smelling something nasty like this. The pungent smell of venom was strong enough to annoy these little guys.

Grey didn't say anything as he looked around him. His eyes were darting around to find its core since this monstrous being had a mana heart.

" Found it."

He said while digging out its brain from its head. His bare hand easily tore through the tough skeleton of the bug as his hand was dyed with disgusting color.

A shiny marble appeared in his hand. He cleaned it with a pool of water next to him.

" As expected they taste different. Poison power is slightly sugary while miasma is salty."

He said, washing his hand with water. His residue mana increased a little bit and he gained a new ability to control venom as his mutation was different.

As a child of Darkness, he could absorb any type of mana without any difficulty. Hence, he could pinpoint the locations of beings with an ounce of mana. His spirit power reacts to that kind of things.

Fire flew over his eyes and swung his arms with an annoyed expression. He pointed at the centipede and crossed his arms to show it is no good to eat that thing's mana since it was polluted by its nature of it. He was worried Grey would gain any unnecessary behavior through it.

" Don't worry. I am confident enough to overcome such a trivial mana creature."

He spoke while heading towards the next destination. His walks were slowly speeding up since he wanted to see something so badly.

Swoosh*

His figure darted around the trees like he was one with them.

Meanwhile,

The monks were returning to their homes with different expressions. Some were happy to go back to their home, some were tired and lastly, some were expressionless.

Grandmaster Pi who was burly enough to reach 2.3 m. His hands were holding his beads as he chanted a mantra on his way to calm down his chaotic mind. He had a bad dream a few days ago and his sense was telling him something was wrong since Shanu has left the temple.

Something was moving the gear of the fate against their time since they were forefront of the defense line. If they fell, countless enemies would swarm on the continent.

" Calm down, your hands are shaking."

The blind monk Wang said, shaking his head. He knew Lao and Lua were protected by the guardian spirit of the temple. Besides, they were strong enough to face those who are foolish enough to challenge the protectors of the continent.

" Can't you feel the eerie silence of the spirits? They always loved the hang around our temple since the ancient spirit reside there."

He said, praying that everything would be alright in his mind. His fellow monks shook their heads because they couldn't imagine someone would dare to mess with him.

Wang wrapped his hands with his wrap as he took the lead since Pi was in a foul mood.

" Grandmaster Wang, Grandmaster Pi. Something is wrong. I can smell something from here."

One of the young monks replied, pointing in the direction of the town with a pale face. His cold sweat was oozing from his forehead.
