Chapter 66 Hiding

" So, that means we have to work with other countries to secure the hatchling and as well as capture those rebels."

Regina spoke calmly, knowing this mission would be tricky and there was something amiss in this. There was no need to call elite squads like them to this mission but the king personally authorized their mobilization, so that meant there was another layer of secret underneath this mission and she had to find it.

" I know it is difficult to work with other countries. Especially the new empire is aggressively extending its border to other countries but without the help of their forces, the dragons would likely wage war against the two continents. You realize that almost half of every race had been destroyed by the last war, right?"

Theseus spoke with a grim face, knowing the dragons were creatures that humans and other races had to be wary of due to their immense strength.

The room fell into silence as Regina contemplated whether she should accept it or not even if it was her mission. The might of the dragons was another thing and the involvement of the empire was also a problem.

She was certain that the empire would try to reach out to them since they were one of the elite squads in their kingdom and the Empire had one of the best intelligence services in the whole world. Henceforth hiding in front of their eyes was practically impossible for any individual even if they were grandmasters.

" We will join the mission but you have to assign us to the place where we least interact with the empire."

Regina decided to gamble in this situation because the reward was also high. She could get access to the real mission and she could potentially get something out of here.

However the same didn't apply to Agam and Qattara as well as their new comrades due to their identities. Therefore Licht came into a new way to get them rewards which was befitting for their roles.

" May I speak?"

He raised his hand with a polite tone, waiting for their approval and of course, they nodded with a smile. The high priests could see the potential in this young man and they were pleased with his etiquette and way of handling things. Unfortunately, he belonged to another country but that didn't stop them from eyeing him.

" I have extremely well-known two mercenaries with me who could help us in the mission. Furthermore, I heard we will get through some jungle terrain and steppe. I have 3 individuals who are proficient in that terrain."

His words aroused their interest because he admitted their talents and recommended them to those who were in high ranking. Such an act meant he was confident in his selections and he was sure that they would be pleased.

" I will give you my words then. You can travel with your friends without any problems even if they are demi-humans."

Obviously, Horus and Theseus knew the existence of their companions and they assured they would be all alright. It wasn't that difficult matter to them as long as they achieved their goals. Also rewarding wasn't a problem either since it was oblivious to reward for their participation despite their identities.

The dinner lasted for a while before they wrapped things up as the only high priests were left in the room.

" He has the talent to become a hero in the end. The same goes for other members of his team. I can see why they are following him because he has overwhelming charisma. It will be interesting to see this young man face the new emperor."

Theseus laughed with a gentle face as he was looking forward to seeing their meeting.

" It will be difficult. There are many talented individuals in this world. The age of heroes is coming to our doorstep sooner than we expected."

Horus sighed with a calm face. He didn't want the new age to happen this fast out of fear that things would get chaotic in the end.

The church alliance's power was slowly diminishing and he couldn't think this would bade well for them technological advances were also progressing too quickly in his eyes.
