Defeated by Greed

In the video, Spider-Man and Vulture were locked in battle aboard a plane.

Despite having the high-tech Spider suit in earlier encounters, Peter was unable to gain any advantage. Now, without the suit, he was even less of a match for Vulture.

To make matters worse, the battle took place high in the air, giving Vulture an undeniable edge with his ability to fly.

The fierce clash between the two inevitably damaged the plane, leaving its engine destroyed and the aircraft spiraling out of control.

Vulture could have fled the scene, but he was unwilling to abandon a crate of valuable materials he had just acquired. Meanwhile, Peter turned his attention to the falling plane, realizing it was heading toward a bustling urban area. If the plane crashed, the consequences would be catastrophic.

At this moment, the video paused, and a new question appeared:

[Among the following options, who can resolve this crisis and capture Vulture/Adrian Toomes?]

[A: Spider-Man/Peter Parker

B: Iron Man/Tony stark

C: War Machine/Colonel Rhodes

D: Captain America/Steve Rogers]

"This..."

Pietro scratched his head. "It's not a two-choice question this time, but I feel like the answer has to be either A or B, right?

Based on the earlier clips, neither Rhodes nor Steve has shown up. And if I remember correctly, at this point in time, Steve is still a fugitive, isn't he?"

The video had clearly indicated the timeline—the aftermath of the Avengers' Civil War. Steve had refused to comply with the Sokovia Accords and clashed with Tony and others, which led to him being branded a fugitive. He had already fled the United States, so there was no chance he'd show up to help Peter deal with Vulture.

As for Rhodes, he was usually relegated to minor roles, so the likelihood of him stepping in was slim. Doctor Strange and Peter both agreed with pietro's reasoning. Though the question offered four options, it ultimately boiled down to choosing between A and B.

If A was chosen, it would mean trusting Peter to handle the crisis independently. However, judging by his earlier performance in the video, Tony had already stepped in to clean up Peter's mess several times. Given Peter's repeated blunders, B seemed like the more likely answer.

Outside the video, most regular viewers believed the answer was B. Betting pools were set up, and given Tony's higher popularity compared to Peter, many placed their wagers on B. People had little confidence in Peter, particularly this version of Spider-Man, portrayed as somewhat inexperienced. Viewers were hoping for an easy win by betting on B.

In the Marvel Universe and other worlds, thanks to the frequency of these Quiz games, they had become a normal part of life. While ordinary people couldn't participate directly, they still found ways to enjoy them—hosting parties, live-streaming their reactions, and even placing bets.

However, when the countdown to answer began, the players in the Eternal Space made a completely different choice from the spectators.

Both Team A and Team B ultimately chose A.

In the end, Team A successfully answered first and earned 4 points, while Team B received 1 point each.

When the answer was revealed, the gamblers who had bet on B were naturally frustrated, some groaning in despair, others yelling in anger. Meanwhile, those lucky enough to have bet on A were overjoyed, praising Spider-Man. If Peter in the Eternal Space had heard the compliments, one could only imagine his reaction.

At that moment, Peter was overjoyed. This question had once again proven his abilities, just like when he saved his classmates trapped in the elevator. He had once more turned the tide.

Pietro grinned and said, "See? I told you to trust yourself. Everyone stumbles, but we all get back up. Failure doesn't mean anything… Well, okay, I'm not great at these motivational speeches. Maybe you should ask Steve for advice sometime."

Peter rolled his eyes. "The school already plays Captain America's propaganda videos every few days… Honestly, everyone's sick of them."

In the original timeline, Steve had endured numerous challenges and hardships, becoming estranged from the government. However, in this version, thanks to the exposure of the Quiz games, Steve had become an even stronger symbol of American ideals.

Hearing Peter's complaint, Doctor Strange couldn't help but laugh. "Hahaha, that reminds me—Tony once told me Steve looked like he was eating dirt every time he got roped into filming one of those educational videos. Seems like it's torture for all of you."

As they bantered, the screen resumed playing the video.

The plane was now severely damaged and on the verge of crashing into the city. Peter, ignoring Adrian's presence, used his webbing to latch onto the plane's wing, doing everything he could to guide the massive aircraft.

Eventually, Peter managed to steer it toward a deserted beach, preventing it from harming any civilians.

But Adrian wasn't ready to give up so easily. Emerging from the wreckage, he took advantage of Peter's exhaustion and struck him. Using the claws on his feet, he grabbed Peter and slammed him into the ground several times.

Yet, Adrian didn't kill Peter. Perhaps he thought of his daughter, or maybe he just wanted to avoid further complications. He let Peter go and landed near the crate of materials.

The crate contained priceless items, the culmination of Adrian's hard work and sacrifices.

Although bruised and battered, Peter still shouted a warning to Adrian. "Your wings! They're going to explode!"

Adrian dismissed the warning. He had already invested too much in this operation, even offending the Avengers in the process. Giving up now would make it all for nothing.

Ignoring Peter, Adrian insisted on flying away with his damaged wings. Peter shot out his web, trying to pull him back, but he was too exhausted to stop him.

In the end, all Peter could do was watch as Adrian's wings exploded, sending him crashing into the flames.

After enduring so many hardships, Spider-Man had finally triumphed over Vulture—even if what truly defeated Vulture was his own greed.
