CHAPTER 2

Kemi and Chidi stay up reading the comic titled Wishful thinking by one of her favourite comic writers, half way in Chidi doses off, but Kemi is determined to finish the series before she gets any sleep, she was particularly excited because for the first time a woman of colour was finally present in this particular genre of comics she loves to read. that character became precious to her instantly, sadly it was only a minor character. "that's disappointing, but I hope you at least get to have one of the male leads princess Riona" she sighs.

"wake up my lady! tch how can she still be asleep at this time" a woman dressed as a maid yells to a figure underneath the sheets of a queen sized bed. "shut up! and go get me some food" the woman says to the maid through groans, the maid now annoyed retorts "she's not only lazy but crazy too, get you food my ass! get up!!". The lady sensing the venom in the maids voice is left in shock, out of curiosity as to who could speak to her in such a manner, she is about to leave the bed to confront the maid when suddenly ice cold water hits her skin, she screams and quickly gets up from the bed. she eyes the woman taking in her ridiculous outfit.

"who the hell are you?! you look like something they threw up from the stone age!" she snares at the maid "we are in the middle ages now my Lady" the maid says in disgust. the lady now drenched in water and about to explode proceeds to slap the maid across the face, but sadly as she does it only feels like paper on the maid's face, this enraged the lady even more, 'what the hell ! why are my arms weak' she thought to herself, the maid snickers "please get ready fast my lady" the maid said and proceeded to leave the room.

'Wait this definitely must be a prank being played on me by my cousin' she thought, she takes a look at her surrounding scrunching up her face in disgust at the worn out room filled with antique furnishing " okay that's enough guy, it's not funny, come out!" she says but there is no reply. 'just what in the world is going on' she thought to herself, proceeding to the door she takes note of long thick curly hair sticking to her chest.

"the idiot not only hired an actress, he even put a freaking wig for me!! I'm really gonna kill him this time" she says in anger

"but I've never seen myself with hair this long, I wonder how I look like." suddenly forgetting the matter at hand, she scans the room for a mirror and finds a broken one set towards the window she rushes towards it in excitement to see just how pretty she would look with dark long hair. arriving At the mirror she let's out a scream.

"WHAT THE-...WHY DO I LOOK LIKE PRINCESS RIONA?!!!!!" she said while staring at the breath taking princess before her, 'this is no joke, all the scars I've accumulated over the years from bullets and knives while on the streets are gone, there is no amount of makeup that can properly hide my scars, plus I'm no longer tall! my beautiful build is gone, all those years spent in the gym has gone to waste' she thought.

"how did I Kemi, Lioness of Lagos turn out to be in this frail beautiful body that cannot even deliver a proper slap?" she said. she looked back at the beautiful girl in the mirror, with her flawless dark skin, she had hazel eyes that looked golden from the sunlight coming in through the window, and her hair was thick with curls, because they were wet it was stuck to the side of her face all the way to her chest, she looks so beautiful, no one would believe she just woke up. although her hair is as dark as the night its looks so glossy and stands out even more than a blonde. Kemi had lost all her hair when a fire broke out during a street fight, so when it grew back, she was forced to keep a low cut, even tho it made her look boyish. 'Is this really me? have I become princess Riona now? Oh my! will i finally be able to look pretty in a skirt?' she thought to her self

" Wait that's not what I should be thinking of right now, I should be more worried about this isekai stuff going down on me right now. Just last night Chidi and i were reading the exclusive release of Akira-chan's comic Wishful Thinking, chidi slept off but I on the other hand was able to reach the end, somewhat." she said

" Ugh yes I remember just reading how all problems were resolved but i slept off immediately after that cause the suspense had died down, so I'm in this world without knowing its proper end?!" she shouted

"but since I'm Princess Riona, the illigetimate daughter of the duke, doesn't my end come before the juicy story begins?!! Ah!! I am finished! just what can this body do, at this rate I will be killed faster. why didn't I enter this world as one of the male leads eh? at least their strength would be equal to mine in my own life!!" she exclaimed. she pitied the child Riona, she grew attached to her at the beginning of the comic,but the writer threw her away.

"is this really happening? I wasn't even hit by truck-kun for this to happen" she said while pacing around.

"but I really wonder how I'd look like in a skirt..." she thought out loud

instantly she located the wardrobe just to satisfy het excitement of finally looking like a girl with a skirt on. she swung it open only to be met with ridiculously big dresses.

"that's right! there are no, mini skirts, pencil skirt or anything of a sort in this period. so even if I have this perfect girly body I can't put it to good use" she said wailing .

while she was on the floor saddened that

she couldn't find a fitted skirt, the maid who had spilled water on her earlier walked in with a tray in her hands containing food. Kemi was still angry that this insolent woman would do something not just to her, the Lioness of Lagos, but to the grand duke's daughter! illegitimate or not.

"how are you still not dressed my lady?" she spat "there is absolutely no way on earth that i will touch your filthy self" the maid said.

"filthy isn't that a bit too much, do you not possess any fear for this body! you know what screw that, I am not Riona that will sit back and take insults, that's not the way of a thug like me! but these arms are unbelievably too weak" Riona said as the maid looked absolutely confused. suddenly Kemi remembers in the book that Riona was being poisoned little by little through her daily meals by a maid given to her by her half sister to keep her in check. the poison doesn't kill instantly but if consumed continuously the victim can loose sense of taste, smell and even movement! it seems the effect was slowly taking place, if she continued eating that poison any further, she was sure to die.

"please eat my lady, after that you can do anything you want with yourself, I couldn't care less" the maid said

In an instant she felt her sanity break, 'wow this people are more wicked than thier description in the book, it's no wonder I supported the main male lead in wiping them off the face of the earth' she thought to herself 'but i can't let that happen since I am now a part of this terrible family' she thought.

"I must congratulate you on the amount of courage you possess no one has ever talked this way to me before and I am not going to make myself get used to it." Riona said while standing face to face with her.

"oh please don't create unnecessary drama, JUST. EAT." she snares at Riona

"I'm a firm believer of not hitting women unless they've given me plenty reasons to do so. EAT IT." Riona commands the maid.

"have you lost your mind why would I eat it when it's yours " the maid said nonchalantly. Kemi who is now Riona, picks up the plate and spills it's content on the floor.

"are you crazy, that was expensive!!" the maid shouts

"which one was expensive the food or the poison in it?" Riona asked. the maid is shocked that she knew about the poison and staggers

"wha..what are you talking about? there Is no poison in the food" the maid stutters while walking back, Riona closes the gap between them and in a swift moment, she slams the plate in her hand on the maid's head, the maid screams in pain and falls to the ground, but before the maid could regain her sense, Riona kicks her hard and the maid bursts through the door to the hall way.

"oh it seems she isn't weak after all, I wonder how she was before being poisoned.." Riona mumbles to herself. at this point servants had heard the scream and had rushed to the scene which was in front of Riona's door.

"this is the perfect moment to instill fear in them, seeing that they all disrespect me" Riona says.
