The Heralds Are Called

Amanda searched for her cub with her senses, sending roots underground, but could not find him. With a little fear, she sent out her Wood Golems, only to find her cub roaring into the sky, killing magical beasts and devouring their cores!

What the hell is he thinking?! Her dying of worry while he's out having fun out there? And even more with a girl at his back, a girl she hasn't even approved of yet! As soon as this battle is over, she must give him a piece of her mind.

Creating a small glowing tree, Amanda healed his wounds from his large body in a matter of seconds. This technique is the envy of all magical beasts, for there are no side effects for the summoner, and the only symptom left for those healed is an almost irresistible sleep.

Healing herself, Amanda now looked at the two Rank 9 magical beast cores with greed and desire. She still held back for a moment, wondering if her cub was okay. Sending out her roots and seeing that her cub was fine, she decided to consume the magic cores.

Swallowing the two cores, her body began to glow with a white light, enveloping her entire large body.

In a large mountain range, more than a thousand mountains stood there, silently watching the eternity of endless years pass by. In the middle of the mountain range, a mountain of a different color than the others emanated a devastating pressure. The pressure was so great that not even insects dared to approach.

The air was shapeless, as if it could not withstand the pressure of such power. Inside this mountain was the resting place of the matriarch, leader of all the magical beasts in the central region. The strongest being in the whole central region, and one of the oldest beasts in the world. At this moment, in front of the cave, stood a dazzling looking man with green hair and slightly pointed ears.

His name was Petrus Von Becker, Hellen Von Becker's father. After hearing his daughter's message, he knew that she would be caught in the crossfire of this useless war that the magical beasts were having. He quickly sought out the blood marquis, but the marquis refused to send troops. With no choice, Petrus found himself without options and chose to make a deal with the matriarch. In exchange for information, nothing would happen to Hellen.

If the matriarch broke her agreement, she would lose the support of the blood marquis, thus being isolated against the other factions of magical beasts and the Eternals. The information Petrus had to give was simple. Flugel had betrayed her and would change sides. Petrus knew that this went against what Hellen wanted, but he didn't care. All he wanted at the moment was to protect his daughter and prevent the vampires from going to war against the magical beasts.

"Are you sure about this bloodsucker? If you dare to lie to me, that will be the last thing you do in life. And in the afterlife, you will regret that you still remember what happened before you died." An aged, female voice emerged from within the cave.

The voice was old as if it had seen the passage of countless ages. Petrus' green eyes sparkled slightly hearing those words but soon returned to normal. All vampires are proud, they believe themselves to be above many and below few, so it is unacceptable to hear someone call them that. Petrus restrained himself, however, because he knew that the matriarch is incredibly powerful, respecting only the blood marquis, and Petrus also needed the matriarch... for now.

"Yes, matriarch. Flugel has betrayed the central region. My daughter, Hellen Von Becker herself, passed this information on to me. I expect you to keep your promise, and allow a knight to enter your territory and take Hellen back home." Petrus replied in a neutral tone.

Although he was in a half bent position, Petrus' face or expression did not show any humility, respect or fear, only an indifferent expression was seen.

From within the mountain, in an absolutely dark cave, an old, wrinkled hand had shells and old bones in its closed fist. The hand approached the old face of a woman, full of wrinkles and age marks. With a small blow on the closed fist, the old woman dropped the shells and bones to the ground. Her eyes hidden in the wrinkles glowed slightly for a split second, but soon returned to the lifeless eyes of before.

"Very well, leech, you may send a knight. But only one, and know that if you try to take anyone else or anything, I won't be kind when I visit that bat you call a marquis." The old woman's voice sounded from inside the cave.

Petrus finally lost his composure. Raising his gaze to the cave, his eyes turned red, and a bloody energy surrounded him. Gritting his teeth and with clenched fists, he shouted at the old woman on the mountain.

"How dare you utter such words about your excellence! Have you forgotten who we are, witch? Don't forget who your benefactor is!"

"Leave before I regret my choice, bloodsucker. Do not come back again, if you still wish to live." The old woman's voice sounded indifferent, treating Petrus' words like wind.

Although he was furious, Hellen's safety was more important now, so Petrus swallowed his anger. Petrus' body became illusory, and he soon disappeared from the scene without a trace. The mountain range returned to its former calm, or so it seemed...

Amanda's body still glowed, and a qualitative change could be seen in her spiritual power. Her energy became thicker, heavier, and emanated a natural arrogance of a queen. Despite experiencing excruciating pain from having her body transform in such a short space of time, Amanda's eyes were pure joy.

Her body had grown to 2 miles (3.22 km), her scales now emitted a silvery glow, her huge horns now looked like heavenly blades, as if forged in the forge of an ancient god. Just by standing there, Amanda's spiritual energy, which left her body naturally, began to create a small forest around her, creating a small ecosystem.

Yes, she had reached Rank 10! Her power had reached its peak! As she was getting ready to take her cub and leave, Amanda saw the heralds of the matriarch coming in the distance, and knew that even if she ran away today, she would still be followed. Her relationship with the matriarch had reached the point that only one could exist in this world.

Having made a decision, Amanda's huge body floated slightly, she took off towards the sky. She would fight today and be free for eternity. Either by dying, or by prevailing.

Jorge was running wildly between fireballs, pillars of earth, and jets of cold energy. The reason for this? The brainless idiot San Meili managed to convince Big George that it would be good to run after magic cores!

It was simple at first, but as time went on, the battle intensified, and the number of magical beasts much more powerful than Jorge was enormous. Jorge had a combat power similar to rank 3 early stage magical beasts. But Jorge was constantly being followed by Rank 6 magical beasts!

Every 3 Ranks, magical beasts experience such a massive increase in power, that it is like the difference between water from a spring, and water from a sewer. A Rank 2 advanced stage mythical magic beast, is not able to cause the slightest damage to a weaker Rank 3 early stage magic beast of all. Such is the importance of Ranks and spiritual energy for magical beasts!

After running and running all over the battlefield, Jorge finally managed to gather the magic cores that San Meili requested. Having finished what he needed to do, now all he needed to do was to return to San Meili's side.

But at that moment, Jorge remembered something he had forgotten. How would he find San Meili in this sea of magical beasts?!
