I quickly launched myself into battle. The feeling I had before, where a part of my memory disappeared, or the sensations where a part of my field of vision disappeared were still present, but in a different way than before.
As I advanced towards the winged magical beasts, my vision blurred for less than a second, and soon I was already beside the winged beast. My central horn became a vine and captured the fleeing winged beast. Grabbing it in mid-flight, I threw it to the ground with as much force as I could muster.
With a loud crash, the winged beast was already lifeless, so I set off for my next target. Watching the winged beast farther in the sky, I knew I wouldn't be able to reach it. After all, snakes don't fly, do they?
My spiritual energy converged in my mouth, as I had done many times before, but this time, I had a different feeling. When I was saturated with energy, I released the full power of a powerful Nature Judgment.
BOOOM
With a loud sonic boom, a beam of light shot out and there was silence for a few seconds until the sound traveled. Perhaps because I had used too much power, the only thing left of the poor winged beast was its magic core. I expected it to be the most powerful Nature Judgment I had ever used, so I used only half the spiritual energy I usually use. But still, with only this much power, I could blow up a Rank 3 magical beast like this? That's the taste of being much stronger?! It's addictive!
My killing continued, and I only stopped moving when I saw that everyone was dead. Going to Hellen and Jorge, I saw that both were fine and unharmed. Despite being Rank 3 magical beasts, those winged beasts usually don't fight and only eat the remains of other predators' game, so their fighting ability was innately low.
Just as I began to talk with Hellen about what to do next, I looked at the ground and noticed something strange. Although there was no rain, there was water on the ground. I asked Hellen if she knew anything about it, but she didn't.
"It must be the ability of some magical beast. But if we saw only a little water, the only alternatives are two. Either the skill is very weak and the most it can do is wet the ground, or it is an incredibly powerful skill, even from a gigantic distance, we can still see the remnants of using such a skill."
Hellen's explanation made sense, but that wasn't something for me to care about. There was too much to digest, and I should still wait for my mother to return so that we could escape.
*************
The black turtle's final ability was like the harbinger of the end of the world. Waves condensed in the air, and a sea was formed in the sky. Below ground, the water table was used to its full power, forming a gigantic lake below the battlefield of Amanda and the heralds.
All the water converged into a gigantic spear. Just looking at the spear would be enough to make a grown man wet his pants. The spear solidified into ice. Its cold, chilling aura was devastating. A magical beast below Rank 5 would surely freeze to death just from touching that spear.
That spear, defying every law humans knew, floated lightly in the air.
"With that spear, the sins of the world will be purged. Suffer the evil of that monster, me! You created me! Then suffer the consequences!" The black turtle's roar echoed across the plain.
With a deafening roar from the turtle, the spear moved forward with speed. In a short time, the spear had already crossed the sound barrier and continued advancing into the forest created by Amanda, where she was resting at that moment. Amanda, seeing the gigantic spear coming towards her, took a deep breath. When she released the air from her lungs, a great gale raged through the forest.
Amanda's body glowed, and then a beam of green light came out of her mouth. Although tired and wounded, Amanda felt she was in her prime! The Nature Judgment she used was the most powerful she had ever used. The range was tens of miles, the width of the beam of green light was also enormous, and its destructive power was such that it interrupted the Flugel battle and caused a small earthquake on the plains.
BOOOOOOOM
Nature's Judgment went head to head with the Ice Lance, and both were fighting to show who was the strongest. This standoff lasted for a few seconds, the shockwaves spreading everywhere. Curiously, whenever any flame of destruction threatened to approach the forest, it was extinguished by something that looked more like an invisible hand.
Little by little, the green light coming out of Amanda's mouth began to fade, but the strength of the ice spear did not. Despite beginning to show signs of losing, Amanda was still relatively well, while the black turtle was bleeding everywhere. Its shell began to crumble, and it was possible to see its organs pulsing inside, trying at all costs to keep its life. Even though it was on its last breath, the crazed look did not fade from the black turtle's eyes.
When Amanda was finally about to lose, the spear could no longer withstand the continued pressure and fragmented into several pieces, before finally melting and converging into a lake that bordered on the size of the sea.
The forest that Amanda created was the only area that was not flooded. There were now walls of water from all four directions, like walls protecting this sacred nook. The wooden beasts roared and pounded the ground with their feet, hooves, hands, or whatever they had, celebrating their victory.
Amanda sighed with relief but didn't have long to celebrate, as she was soon hit by a blade of wind. Looking up, she saw the deer, which carried a huge sphere made of wind and compressed air.
"May you find forgiveness in the afterlife, Amanda." The deer's voice sounded through the forest.
Just as Amanda was about to make a desperate move, Flugel emerged in his true form that resembled a phoenix with rainbow-colored feathers.
The green-colored feathers on its tail glowed, and soon its body was bathed in green flames. The flames converged on Flugel's beak, and soon jets of green flames came pouring out and met the deer and his sphere.
BOOOOOOM
A huge explosion went off all over the air, and as the sphere crumbled, there was another explosion and the green flames spread once more, and turned into red flames. Flugel looked down and saw Amanda's shocked face. He flew over the area Amanda was in, and Amanda heard his voice.
"Run as far away as you can Amanda. In 10 seconds, it will all be over. If you don't run now, you will never be able to see your arrogant cub again."
Amanda looked at the Forest she had created and felt sad knowing that it would all be gone. Amanda knew that Flugel was not lying. In his prime, he was powerful enough to destroy this entire place without breaking a sweat. Even now in his weakened state after his fight with the Eternal, his power was still overwhelming and unmatched, few had the ability to say they would beat Flugel in combat.
Amanda looked off in the distance and saw that Fugel's opponents were approaching at rapid speed. No longer hesitating, Amanda took flight, but first, in a futile and desperate attempt, she created a barrier of roots across the forest.
Amanda's body slowed as she flew. Within seconds, Amanda broke the sound barrier. Now that her body was only 40 feet (12.19 m) long, her movement became easier and more practical. Amanda could choose to shrink further, but the mass of her body would become too condensed and her initial goal would be lost.
Amanda continued to accelerate away, to find her cub and escape this madness. In the distance, Flugel's voice echoed in the lonely, empty skies.
"May the flames answer my call. May that day prove that flames cause warmth and comfort, but also destruction and annihilation. To my enemies, O burning flame, kill them, burn them, make them see the sins they have committed, and let them in their next life know, those who offend a flame-bearer will never survive!"
With each verse that Flugel's voice intoned, the flames in his body became hotter and more searing. His enemies first tried to stop him from concluding his chant. However, they could not approach. The heat radiated by Flugel was scorching. Flying high into the sky, Flugel's body became a small colored sun in this dark world.
His heat caused the water in the newly created lake to evaporate hundreds of gallons with each passing second. The deer, goat, and lion, seeing that they could not stop whatever Flugel was trying to do, chose in unison to flee as far away as possible.
The colors that Flugel was emitting began to come together and form a new color. What happens when all the colors come together? It all comes back to nothing. The color white is the result of the union of all colors. When a brilliant white appeared, the world became silent.
The birds' songs were no longer heard. Insects no longer worked hard for their survival. Wolves no longer hunted, and deer and wild horses no longer grazed.
Light expanded at immeasurable speed. Amanda, who was already dozens of miles away, seeing this scene, gritted her teeth and accelerated her speed even more, but there was no more time. The white light stopped a few inches from Amanda's tail. When the light expanded to its maximum, it returned even faster to ground zero.
The silence was broken.
An explosion never before seen in this underground world came to show its hideous existence to this world.
The explosion moved away from ground zero and destroyed everything in its path, leaving nothing behind.
The three escaping magical beasts were caught in the blast, and before there was time to use any life-saving techniques, they were wiped out and returned to nothingness. No trace remained to prove their existence in this world.
And then the sound came. Like the roar of a furious, wounded, and resentful demonic killer beast, it caused tremors everywhere.
Then the tremors of the explosion came. As if a giant god marched across the earth, cracks appeared in the plains and spread to the forests hundreds of miles away. The earth shook, the ground opened up, and the animals wept at the end of the world.
When it was all over, in the center of all this explosion, Flugel's human body gasped for air as it floated. Everything around him vanished. There was a great hole, an abyss below him, impossible to see the bottom.
With a murmuring voice, he uttered the last part of the chant:
"The sun that warms and gives life to the crops, is the same sun that dries and brings hunger to the masses. The flames that drive away cold and heartless death in winter, are the same flame that destroys in the spewing of a volcano. All came from the ashes, and to the ashes, all will return. World of Flames."
The landscape was one of pure devastation, and life would never again emerge from such a place. Such was the price of a battle of this level.
