Chapter 9: Vulnerable Conversations

Tara POV

Once we had gotten back to his cabin, he set me down and I made my way to the room so that I could change. When I was finished, I made my way back downstairs.

I found Victor by the kitchen island sipping on some water. His eyes were distant as he gazed outside. From the moment I met him I could always tell that he was a man who carried a lot on his shoulders. After learning that he was next in line to rule over this pack it only made sense.

There were expectations set on him that he knew he had to meet.

From what I understood of the alpha role, it was not easy to undertake. The alpha was the strongest and fastest in the pack but was also the one with the most burdens to carry. The packmemebrs were the alpha’s top priority. That was a lot of souls to care for. I was intimidated just thinking about it.
