Chapter 91: These Blood-Links

Tara’s POV

“That’s…” I breathed out as I stared at Murphey.

“A lot?” he laughed as he nodded his head. “Yeah, imagine living through it.”

“But there’s no way it’d heal? I thought werewolves could heal from almost anything.”

“Almost anything, but this—” He slapped his injured leg. “This happened before my auspice, when my abilities were barely even integrated into me. We’re born with certain affinities, yeah, but it isn’t until auspice that we truly come into our own. Besides that, it happened during the attack, and despite some of them being wolves themselves, others weren’t and they used silver.”

I let out a shaky breath as Murphey finished explaining to me just how he managed to get the injury on his leg and why he needed crutches now. “It’s not so bad, though,” he continued. “Because I’ve sort of grown used to it. It’s like an extra limb, you know?”
