Chapter 119: True Plans

Victor’s POV

There was something happening around me that I wasn't aware of. I didn't know what it was or where it was coming from, but I knew that it was happening and I didn't know how to stop it. There were thoughts going around in my head for days—thoughts about the pack, about Tara and her pack, and about the prisoner we kept in the dungeons.

My father used to tell me that overthinking led nowhere, and I tried to instill every bit of his ideology the way I ran the pack, but I don't think my father ever faced situations like this. At least not that I saw.

So that's why instead of going to Axel or Evan, I went to the man who started all of this. Sidus.

It was a jarring thing to refer to a former ally as a prisoner now, but I suppose it was an even more jarring thing to look into the eyes of a man who had watched you grow up and know that he had killed your father.
