She rushed passed me to Jack, raking her eyes over him to find out what was wrong. When she saw nothing, she turned to me then, and her eyes shifted to black for a moment before she shook her head and called out to me.


“Stop what?” My voice was barely above a whisper, too hoarse to think of anything to say or do. It was like my emotions had taken over any and all thought. 


“Your aura, Tara! You have to calm down, it’s too much… please…” 


She seemed to be choking out herself, like what she was describing was affecting her as well. I shook my head, not knowing how to stop it.


My mind was racing, ashamed of having come here and putting the pack through this. Even Murphey’s face flashed through my mind, and I didn’t know who else or how many other people were affected by this. And instead of asking her to help me, or explain how I was meant to stop it, I just shut my eyes.
