Chapter 162: Fall Asleep To A Dream

Victor’s POV

“You missed another meeting.”

This was the first thing Axel told me as he walked into my bedroom the next morning. I found it hard to look at him when he brought the tray of food to my bed and stood there to the side of it, waiting for me to acknowledge him in some form of way.

I merely nodded my head in thanks. This action, however, wasn’t enough to appease Axel and so he stood as stil as a statue, waiting for me to look at him.

But still I refused, until I eventually asked, “Was there anything important I missed?”

Axel sighed, moving from the side of my bed to go and open the curtains again.

It wasn’t because of what I had seen in the forest earlier that night that I didn’t go to the scheduled meeting today. Rather, the fact that I physically couldn’t make it out of bed. The night before had taken more from me than what I had thought originally. Not only that, but the dreams were something of a reckoning to deal with as well.
