Olivia decided to stay for a little longer as they waited for Josh to come home.
They were in the living room and were watching a Netflix show while waiting for Josh to arrive. Xander was on Zarah's lap as he enjoyed being petted by his fur mom.
They were in the middle of the show when an idea popped up inside Olivia's head.
"Zaza, can I sleep here?"
"Are you serious?" Zarah asked her back.
"Why? Don't you want to?"
"No." Zarah thought that Olivia might misunderstand her answer so she corrected herself, "I mean, no, I do want to. We used to do this at your house, remember? And I miss you having around, Liv."
Olivia squealed in excitement and hugged Zarah tightly. However, she remembered that her best friend was nursing an injured ankle so she immediately broke the hug and apologized, "Sorry."
"It's fine. I only hurt my ankle, not my body."
It was already ten in the evening and so Olivia urged Zarah to prepare to sleep. Josh had finally sent a message that he might come home late because their potential client was still having fun.
Being in the same industry, she understood where Josh was coming from. This was a big client that he was trying to coax that's why Josh had to secure this deal.
Thanks to Olivia's nagging, Zarah went to their room and started her night routine.
Olivia helped her with her night shower to wash off the dirt and dust she had for the day.
Zarah was shy at first and Olivia bashed her, "Don't be shy. We have seen each other naked many times before."
Olivia's no-filter attitude made Zarah blush hard. Zarah knew that Olivia was only teasing her but she could not handle it.
"Stop it Liv! Ah! Could you please have some filter when you speak?" Zarah begged her but Olivia had no intentions to give in just yet. "Hehehe. Nope. I like teasing you, Zaza!" She admitted.
Come on! She liked teasing Zarah because she would blush easily and she looked so cute when it happened.
"Stop acting so pure and innocent, will you? I'm sure you and my brother have already done it.", Olivia said casually without considering how Zarah would react.
However, she didn't expect to get a shocking reaction from Zarah.
"Oh my gosh!" Olivia exclaimed and Zarah immediately went to cover her mouth to stop her from speaking. "You both have not done it?" Olivia still managed to say and Zarah's ears turned red as she shook her head in embarrassment.
After an eternity of teasing inside the shower, Olivia and Zarah went out of the room and the former took good care of icing her ankle.
Since they were almost the same height, it was easy for Olivia to borrow Zarah's pajamas for the sleepover.
Zarah also had unused underwear inside her closet and she let Olivia use them.
Zarah felt sleepy after the medicine and exhaustion took effect. She had never felt this exhausted in her entire life.
"Goodnight, Liv."
"Goodnight, Zaza."
After making sure that Zarah was sound asleep, Olivia carefully slipped out of the bed and left the room. She made sure that the sleeping pills that she slipped on Zarah's drink earlier worked.
She wanted to make sure that her best friend would have a good rest tonight.
She then changed back into the clothes she left in the living room and left the apartment with her car. She was going to find her good-for-nothing brother and bring him home as Zarah needed him.
*East Side Hotel*
In one of the hallways of the East Side Hotel, a good-looking man was swaying side to side as he walked to his hotel room.
"Mr. Irving, are you okay?" Camille, who was walking behind him, asked in worry while she tried to help him.
"I'm fine! I'm not dr--unk," he slurred in his speech while pushing her hand off him.
She should back away now, right? However, Camille felt no shame and instead took the initiative to grab the key card from him and unlocked the door.
She then helped him enter the room and they stumbled onto the bed and he fell on top of her. Because of the impact, he threw up into her clothes.
"Oh my gosh! Mr. Irving!" Camille screamed as the smell of his vomit entered her nose. She felt like throwing up, too.
She tried pushing him away so she could go and have a shower. She felt so dirty with his vomit all over her shirt and some even got in her hair.
After a few attempts, she managed to push him off of her. She hurriedly jumped into the bathroom to have a shower.
She went out freshly bathed and was only wearing the bathrobe. She approached Josh who was sleeping with his dirty shirt.
She tried tapping his face to see if he was knocked out.
When she saw no movements from him, a creepy smile formed on her lips. Camille finally unmasked her true self.
She caressed Josh's face and then started unbuttoning his white shirt. Ever since she saw him during her interview, she already had a crush on him. This feeling eventually grew and she now liked him a lot.
She was not discouraged even though she knew that Josh was already dating someone else. She thought that a married couple could still get a divorce, what more for an unmarried man couple?
Yes, her beliefs were twisted.
After she successfully removed his top and tossed it on the floor she then moved to untie her bathrobe.
"You have no idea how long I have been waiting for this moment to happen, Josh." She said in a seductive tone as if the man could hear her.
Her eyes then moved to the space between his thighs and gulped when she saw a tent forming.
"Look at you? Seems like you're very excited to have me tonight. Don't worry, dear. You're all mine tonight and nothing can stop us."
She smiled seductively and was about to pounce on him when the door burst open.
"What are you doing?!" Camille jolted upon hearing a woman's voice. She immediately looked for something to cover her naked body.
"You! Who are you?! Why are you here?!"
She lashed out at the intruder. Olivia had just entered and she was shocked at the same time furious after witnessing what was happening.
"B*tch! I should be the one asking you that question! Who are you?! What are you trying to do to Josh?!"
"Me? Ha! I'm his girlfriend and I can do anything I want to him. How about you?" Camille became bold and delusional since Olivia didn't introduce herself. Olivia had not visited the company yet and so the employees didn't recognize her.
Olivia looked at her unconscious and probably drunken brother and she could feel herself burning in anger.
She went to the bathroom and found an empty container and filled it with water. When she had enough, she lifted the half-filled container and without warning splashed it into the bed.
"What have you done?!" Everything happened so fast that Camille didn't get the time to react.
Being splashed with cold water in his passed-out state, Josh immediately got up to punch whoever did it to him.
He was soaked for d*mn sake.
"Who did it?!" He angrily asked and glared at the two women in the room.
"Me! What are you going to do about it?!" Olivia challenged as she snapped at him. She wanted to drag him out of the room and then beat him until he realized his grave mistake. She wanted to punish him for Zarah's sake.
Josh looked at his sister and he suddenly became sober.
"Livi? What are you doing here?" Josh asked her. He then suddenly felt so cold. So, he looked down at his body and saw himself half-naked.
"I don't think that should be the first thing you should ask, B.r.o.t.h.e.r." Olivia intentionally dragged it out so Camille could hear her loud and clear.
Camille cursed after she realized that she dug her own grave.
Josh finally understood what her sister meant when he finally saw Camille hiding underneath the covers. Olivia went to her side and harshly pulled the covers.
"Miss Right? Why are you naked?" Josh asked in surprise.
"Ahm. Tha-t--" Camille was at a loss for words. She didn't know how to explain herself now.
"Isn't it obvious? Josh, she stripped herself naked. Had I not barged in on time, who knows nine months from now, the Irving family might have an illegitimate heir." Olivia frankly said.
"What?!"
"No! That's not what happened! Mr. Irving, you're so drunk that you vomited on me. I have to remove your clothes and help you clean up after I was done cleaning myself. My clothes are already thrown in the washer and I was about to put yours too when she barged in."
Camille thought that her alibi was believable.
Josh calmed down after hearing Camille's explanation. Camille was excellent in her job as a secretary and so he trusted her judgment and actions. She won't cross the line, right?
"Okay. It seems like it's a misunderstanding. Thank you, Miss Right." Josh said with a sigh of relief and turned his attention to Olivia.
"Liv, it's late. Head home first. I'll stay for the night here. And Miss Right, use my card and book yourself a room. It's dangerous for you to go home at this hour."
Olivia could not believe what she heard. She was being kicked out while his secretary would stay in the hotel? She felt that it was ridiculous.
"Aren't you so biased, brother?" She mockingly asked him.
"Liv, not now. I'm tired. Please just go home and let's continue this tomorrow, okay?" Josh pleaded with her. Exhaustion and fatigue were evident on his face.
Camille thought that she was saved tonight. However, Olivia was not done.
"No! I'm not leaving without you. More importantly, I'm not leaving unless you fire this woman from her job. She's too delusional to claim in my face that she's your girlfriend. Seriously? Or are you cheating behind Zarah's back?"
'D*mn it!' Camille cursed inwardly. If her sharp gazes could kill, Olivia should be dead by now.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Miss Right will never do anything wrong." Josh defended his secretary but he did not expect that Olivia would pull out a recording pen and press the play button.
Silence wrapped the room after the audio recording was played. There's no point in denying it and so Camille decided to apologize this time.
"I'm sorry Mr. Irving. I thought that she is one of your obsessed fans. I was only trying to protect you!" She hoped that Josh would believe her but she failed.
"B*llsh*t!" Josh snapped and went on to wrap his hand around Camille's neck.
Camille was squirming as she could not breathe. At the same time, she felt frightened when she saw this side of Josh.
"Do you know the consequences of what you've done?!" Josh asked her coldly however, his hold on her was so tight that she was choking.
"That's enough, Josh! You're killing her." Olivia said to stop his brother.
"This sl*t tried to ruin my relationship with Zarah, Livi. I can't let her go!" Josh was beyond furious.
"I said stop! If you stained your hands with her blood, is it worth it?" Her question somehow made Josh come to his senses and let her go.
Camille slumped on the floor and went into a coughing fit. She was holding her neck like she was checking if her head was still attached to her body.
Josh then grabbed his dirty shirt and walked out of the room in a rage.
Olivia looked at Camille who was now crying on the floor.
She didn't feel any pity or sympathy toward her. She brought this upon herself. She had no one else to blame.
Olivia walked closer to her and then said, "Consider yourself lucky that it's me who has seen everything and not Zarah. Tsk! Next time, don't try to rob someone else's boyfriend. If you're that lonely, start going on a blind date or look online for a lover."
Olivia left after saying those words. It's useless to stay longer in the room. She knew that Camille learned her lesson.
Meanwhile, Olivia saw Josh still flustered in the hotel lobby.
As soon as he saw her walking closer, Josh approached her in a hush manner, "Livi, please don't say whatever happened tonight to Zarah. I don't want her to know about this."
Olivia squinted her eyes in disbelief "Are you hearing yourself, Josh?"
"Yes. I may have been drunk earlier but I'm sober now. I do not want Zarah to know about this. I don't want her to get hurt."
Olivia flicked her tongue and looked at him.
Of course, she didn't want Zarah to get hurt. However, she didn't want to be his accomplice in hiding this from her. Should she agree, she would be betraying her best friend.
"Livi, please!" Josh started begging her.
"No, Josh. I think it's time for you to own up to your mistake."
"It's not my fault! You've seen it, right? I passed out on the bed. How would I know that she had the intention to sleep with me? I was about to be r.a.p.e.d for damn sake!"
"Yes, it's mostly her fault. However, I don't think you're completely innocent, either. Because if you claim that you are, what are you doing here in the first place?" Olivia threw the million-dollar question at this point.
"Zarah's nursing an injured ankle. And from what I have heard from her, she sent you a lot of messages this morning until earlier this evening, and yet you have only responded this late. Do you even know how worried my best friend was?"
Olivia sighed as she suddenly felt exhausted. That's why she vowed that she would never have a relationship with anyone.
It's easy to start a relationship yet it's hard to maintain. It's easy to say 'yes' but it's hard to stay committed.
"By any chance, are you avoiding Zarah? Do you plan on cheating behind her back?" She asked the question that she was dying to know.
