Seeing that Zarah was sleeping peacefully, Xavier opened his eyes and then slowly removed his arms around her waist.
He then slowly got up from the bed and slowly walked toward the door. He twisted the knob and opened the door slowly.
He didn't want to wake her up. Before their shotgun wedding tomorrow, he had to do something first.
He looked at the time and went into his room to change his pajamas into his black shirt, a leather jacket, and a pair of black jeans.
He left his room and went to the front door where Chris and Jackson were waiting.
Before he could come out of the house, he heard Zarah's voice behind him.
"You're leaving? Where are you going?" Zarah was wearing her velvet robe over her pajama to protect herself from the cold.
Xavier turned around and walked to her.
"Go back to sleep. There are some things that I need to settle before we get married tomorrow," he explained while holding her hands.
Zarah thought that they would only be getting their marriage certificate tomorrow. It seems like she was wrong.
"Though our wedding tomorrow is rushed, I ought to give you a proper wedding. I know that you would want to share this moment with your best friends. Before you go back to sleep, you may send a message and invite them to attend it, too."
Zarah understood and so she asked, "When are you coming back?"
"Is this your way of saying that you miss me?" Xavier didn't forget to tease her.
"Yes," she admitted. The moment Xavier left the bed, her eyes opened.
She thought that he was going to use the restroom but then she was wrong as he went into his room.
"I'll be coming back before the ceremony. Let's see each other at the civil affairs bureau to register our marriage first then our wedding." Xavier said and then claimed her lips.
The kiss then parted and Zarah was blushing hard.
"I could not wait to make you my Mrs. Lockhart," he added before he turned around and left the house.
"Good evening, Master," Chris greeted as he saw his boss walking to the car. He then opened the car door and Xavier got inside.
Jackson also opened the passenger side of the car and entered.
"Congratulations on your engagement and wedding tomorrow, Master Xavier." Jackson and Chris greeted him immediately.
Xavier felt good after hearing their congratulations.
Had he known that it felt so good to be congratulated, he should have done this the moment he saw Zarah at the office.
"Thank you, Jackson, Chris. However, this would also mean that you have to help me prepare the venue for the wedding tomorrow."
Xavier reminded them.
"Anything that could make you happy, Young Master," Chris reassured.
It was not hard for them to prepare the venue and the reception of the wedding.
After all, they had enough manpower who were willing to work overtime just to make their Master Xavier.
Elliott and Lena were one of them. They were busy contacting a flower shop that could cater to their needs.
Miss James' parents had a small business that catered to events such as weddings, parties, and other functions.
Therefore, Elliott tapped her as they were the best people fit for the job.
Xavier was willing to pay them thrice or four times the cost just to give Zarah a decent civil wedding ceremony.
He planned to hold a grand wedding when everything was settled in the future.
"How's our interrogation going?" He asked to change the topic.
"The driver has not confessed yet. He kept on insisting that it was an accident. He was charged with DUI by the court." Jackson explained.
"The car that was burnt was found to have faulty brakes. We found the relatives of the driver and we found out that he got involved with the loan sharks two weeks ago."
"He could be paid by someone to do a suicide crash. Did the family receive any mysterious message or payment today?"
"We've been monitoring the families and found out that although they didn't receive money or weird messages, the loan sharks stopped pestering the family yesterday," Chris explained.
"Do you have any idea which organization this loan shark belonged to?" Xavier asked Chris through the rearview mirror.
"Black Money, Master Xavier."
Xavier then looked at Jackson and asked, "I might do something against the law, Jackson. Are you going to arrest me?"
Jackson chuckled and said, "No. I won't arrest you as long as you don't kill anyone."
Jackson needed Xavier's help in eliminating those notorious gangsters in the city. Xavier was doing a huge favor for him and the police force.
He was willing to cover them up as long as they would not kill innocent people. He was aware of Xavier's true identity. And he knew how dangerous this man could be.
"Our team has already captured the leader of Black Money, Master. Angel is waiting for your orders." Chris added.
"Okay. Start the torture."
He then grabbed a blindfold from his pocket and tossed it to Jackson.
"It's not that I don't trust you. I'm just being extra careful," Xavier explained to Jackson.
He hoped that the latter would not be offended because of this.
"I understand. Give it to me. I'll wear it myself," Jackson had no other choice but complied.
As soon as he wore the blindfold, the car changed direction and headed to their base.
Inside a dungeon-like room, a beautiful young lady, who looked like on her late teens, was holding a scalpel and a disinfectant solution.
She looked at the sleeping big-bellied man who was chained to the chair opposite her.
She looked so pure and innocent at first glance. She looked so charming that one could be easily convinced should she say she had never killed a mosquito in her entire life.
A smirk showed on her thin lips which shifted her aura completely.
She was excited to pierce her scalpel against the man's flesh. The thought itself made her excited.
As soon as she received the go signal to torture the man, she carried on without wasting any seconds.
"Argh!!!" The man shrieked after he felt the sharp blade against his flesh.
"You're awake!" she said with a huge grin on her face.
"Who are you?!" The man asked. She looked at this beautiful maiden with both fear and anger.
"I'm the last person whom you would see before you start your journey to the next life. However, I won't let you have that pleasure just yet. My Master still has some things to ask you."
"Are you implying that you are the angel of death?"
"Bingo!"
Her name was indeed Angel. The name was given to her by Xavier. Her visual could be compared to that of an angel. However, her inner self craved blood and violence.
Before Xavier found her, she was working with another group as their torture expert and executioner.
Since Xavier killed their leader and spared her and the rest of the members, they pledged their loyalty to Xavier as their new boss.
"Who are you, people?! Why am I here?"
"Shhh! You're so noisy, you know."
If not for the fact that Xavier still needed this man's tongue so he could speak, she would cut it out so this man would not create a sound while being tortured.
She grabbed a century-old sock and shoved them inside his mouth.
Just then, the door opened and she turned her attention to the new arrival.
She could recognize the two but not the third person who was with them.
She smirked after watching the man's shocked face.
After all, the man had cuts on his skin and her hand which was holding the scalpel was already stained with his blood.
"Why did you come so early, Master Xavier?" Angel complained as she wanted to have fun first with this man before Xavier arrived.
"Angel put down the scalpel first. I still have to ask this man an important question before he bleeds to death," Xavier reprimanded her and she clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"Sure. However, let Mr. Handsome accompany me while you're asking this old fatty."
As soon as Jackson heard her say it, he looked at Chris and then at Xavier.
However, when he realized that she was referring to him, he could feel shivers running down his spine.
Chris then leaned to the side and whispered, "Don't worry. Angel won't hurt you."
"What? Is she referring to me when she said, Mr. Handsome?"
Xavier was exceptionally handsome. Chris was also handsome. Meanwhile, Jackson knew that he was good looking but when stood beside these two, he felt inferior.
Jackson was very handsome though. He just lacked the confidence. This was the result of his mother's constant mockery when he was still a child.
His mother would lock him up inside the cabinet because he looked ugly to her.
Before he could even react, Angel walked toward him and grabbed his arm. Without any delay, Angel dragged him out of the room to accompany her.
"Wait outside the room, Chris," he instructed and Chris obliged.
He still had other things to do. He needed to make proper arrangements for the members of the Black Money Gang.
Xavier planned to absorb them into his group as long as they qualified.
If not, Jackson had already prepared their cold cell inside the prison.
As soon as they were alone, a sinister look flashed on Xavier's face.
The leader of Black Money subconsciously gulped hard as he could see the devil incarnate on Xavier.
If Angel was the angel of death. Xavier was the devil himself.
The room had good soundproofing and so, no one could hear what Xavier asked and the screams the man made every time Xavier cut a portion of his skin.
After an hour of endless torture, the man finally confessed.
"It was a guy from overseas."
"What is his name?"
"I don't know. He communicated through email. The payment made was left inside a trash can near the street. I had to drive there personally to collect the money myself," the Old fatty said while crying.
If that was the case, Xavier found the mastermind's ability to cover up his track was commendable.
It seemed as if this investigation would come to a dead end.
He had to find out the person who paid the Blood Money Gang and let him pay.
If his guess was right, this person was also the man who paid the driver of the truck.
Xavier left the room in a foul mood.
However, he was surprised to see Angela pinning Jackson against the wall and she was kissing him.
He could tell that Jackson was forced by this little devil to do it.
"That's enough, Angel! Don't scare Jackson or he might not come back here again." He warned and it seemed like it worked as Angel stopped kissing Jackson.
"He's mine," Angel claimed that making Xavier and Jackson speechless.
Since when did this angel of death learn about romance? Xavier thought of this while Jackson was still shocked.
He thought that Angela was crazy.
He wanted to push her away but Angel did not budge.
He looked at Xavier for help but he saw the latter walking away from him.
"Young Master! Please control your people!" Jackson pleaded with him.
"Commissioner Wagner, believe me when I say that Angel is on her best behavior now. Accompany her in the meantime and do not let her be angry or you will lose a part of your body." Xavier said to convince Jackson to stay with Angel.
He was only teasing though. However, Xavier was unaware of the fact that he had given Angel an idea on how to make Jackson submissive to her.
"Good luck! I still have a wedding to prepare for."
He planned to recruit Jackson should the commission fire him later.

Hope, Trixie, and Olivia gathered around the bride to do her makeup with Julie assisting them.
The three were puzzled why they decided to get married so suddenly.
They had a lot of speculations forming in their heads while they were driving going to the mansion.
"Zaza, why do you decide to marry him? Did something happen?"
"Oh my gosh! Are you pregnant, Arah?" Trixie asked her.
Zarah listened to the twins and her lips twitched.
She looked at them through the mirror and she could see their probing eyes other than Hope who was calmly doing her hair.
She was smiling and even happier than the bride herself.
Zarah knew that she had to answer these two or else they would speculate for the worst. She had to make them not worry.
"Trix, you're wrong. I'm not pregnant," Zarah answered Trixie and then looked at Olivia's eyes as it was her turn.
"Joseph Lockhart visited the mansion last night. He wanted Xavier and me to break up. And so Xavier proposed to get married today so no one could break us apart," she explained.
