Remember her

Everything went perfect , they finished to take the measurements for the prince's robes. They led the prince to the dining room for breakfast . Prince asked for his bodyguards and he was informed that they were called by the king .

Maya didn't even try to look at the prince because she was told not to directly looking to the royals since she was only a maid .

Prince Asa was eating in silence while all of his eyes were on the young maid who was bowing down her head all of the time . Is she doing it on purpose ? he thought , he wanted to know whether meeting her was a coincidence or there is something else. He didn't want to ask her anything right now because there were other people around , It will look strange. The moment he sat his feet inside the palace he knew that he needs to be more careful in everything he does since this was a palace , the place he was born and grew up in but yet the most place he was afraid of living in it again .

The day went by and Maya was roaming around the garden near the prince's quarter . The garden was full of colorful flowers but she wasn't fascinated by them because she wasn't feeling herself when she is within the palace . She thought that she was like an animal in a cage , yet so lonely and separated from the outside world.

Maya was a child born and raised inside the palace , she grew up with her mother who later die . Since then , she never got the chance to be out of the castle even once , She was tired of this boredom and she was dreaming of getting out of the palace one day , she thought that she needs her freedom .

She was only a little girl when she lost her mother , and none ever loved her beside her mother and the court lady who raised her after her mother's death . The court lady also left the palace few years ago because she became sick and old.

Maya started crying after remembering them , she missed them so much .

She started feeling thirsty with few hiccups , it is something that sometimes happens to her when she cries.

She hurried back to the kitchen to get water , she drank a cup of water and after finishing it she fetched for the leftovers from the prince's lunch. She sat down on the kitchen's floor and started eating the food while sobing .

Prince Asa was walking around the garden along with his body guards . They were chatting behind his back . Zayn was laughing now and then to the cosmos's comments on each of his sentences .

Zayn is a witty young man who always makes jokes , he is full of life while his personality is charismatic and outgoing , he was totally different from Cosmos who is old-fashioned and strong-willed.

"Why were you called by the king alone this morning ?" Asa asked his bodyguards casually but he seemed to be angry.

"His majesty asked many things about your growing up at the border" Cosmos replied him.

" Many things , like what ?" he asked again

"Like how you managed to live on your own with people you are totally not familiar with "

"And what did you say ?" Asa turned a little bit behind curiously asking again .

"We said you were always closing yourself inside crying like a baby and sometimes pee on your pants because you were afraid sharing a bathroom with the soldiers" now it was zayn who abruptly opened his mouth. Prince Asa didn't get angry over him instead he smiled at his joke , he was used to his jokes and he always think of him as a younger brother .

" Since you entered the palace zayn , you are getting more bolder ". Asa noted kiddingly.

He patted zayn on the shoulder before he said .

"Don't say that again in front of many people especially the king . I can't guarantee keeping your tongue inside your mouth " . They both laughed after the prince commented enthusiastically. Latter they continued to stroll around the garden.

But prince seemed to stop walking when he caught a sight of a girl he firstly met at the market and now at the palace . He noticed that she was crying and wiping tears from her eyes , she seemed not to notice them. He was wondering what makes her cry , his heart blindly forcing him to follow her . When he is about to approach her , he suddenly felt uncomfortable in his chest . He felt a strong pain in his heart.

She was the one who makes him feel like this . His heart is aching because of her.

This was the second time for him to feel this way , the first time it was when he lost his mother , he felt like the whole world abandoned him , he was mad and lost . He felt the pain that he never felt before , the pain that you can't describe someone can understand and now he felt this strange feelings again to the woman he does't even know.

He clutched his chest so hardly while his eyes still gazing at her from afar . He had many questions in his head maybe he could go to the doctor and fetched his answers.

His bodyguards noticed the changes from the prince , they hurried to his side to see what was going on with him .

They heard him . "It's her " he said.

They looked to the direction where they caught the sight at which the prince was looking but they didn't see anyone . Because maya was left already.

They asked " Who?!" . Asa replied to them still clutching to his chest " it's her , a girl with brown hair that we met at the market and now she is here as a palace maid ".

They were left dumbfounded , they didn't know what to say . They looked at him he seemed to be fine now but they wanted to know the reason why is he feeling like that , their eyes burned with curiosity . But Asa didn't say anything afterwards.

They snapped out from their senses when they heard him urging them to follow him .

They followed him behind until they got near the king's quarter , the king's guards at the front door to the king's quarter noticed the prince and his guards , they made the way for the prince to pass but before the prince did so he hesitated for a bit but then he stepped forward and entered the king's quarter.

Along with his guards , he strolled inside. They walked passing through many doors and corridors until they arrived at the king's bedchamber . They met the other guards at the door .

" Tell him I'm here " prince asa said simply addressing his father like that who was also the king .

The guards at the door shocked by the way the prince tried to address the king disrespectful like that but Cosmos and zayn weren't shocked by the situation.

" You didn't hear me " . The guards jumped in fear when they heard his voice again .

"Forgive us your highness , His majesty told us not to let anyone inside because he is resting " one guard explained.

" You said anyone , am I 'anyone' to you !?" Asa asked mockingly.

"If I tell the king later about your disrespectful toward the prince of this country , do both of you know what would happen to you and your families and the people near to your families "

" Your highness .."

"And to those who will try to defend your crime" he added.

They knew the consequences of defying the prince, probably they will get hanged.

Cosmos was about to say something to the prince but when he heard prince cut in his sentence. He failed to continue speaking.

"Forgive us your highness " The frightened guards said in unison .

" I will stop by the next time , inform him I was here " Prince Asa ordered and then he left with his guards . On his way to his quarter , cosmos asked him why he did threaten the king's guards. He didn't want to provide him with the right answer instead he said he was tired and he needs to rest .

He got back to his room , removing his royal coat and dashed it on his bed he strolled towards the window and opened it . Since his bedroom was at the top of the building , he was capable of watching down at all the people who were walking around busily performing their duties .

He opened the drawer to find a book with a beautiful story that he can read , but to his surprise he didn't find the book to his liking .

He closed the drawer and threw himself on the bed , he decided to take a nap before he wakes up for dinner.

The King invited the royal family to the dinner tonight include prince Asa .

The door to the grand dining hall was opened and Asa strolled inside . His eyes met the king who was sitting on his chair at the end of the long table.

On the other side of the table , he saw the queen and her daughter , princess Adrianne.

King gestured him to sit down latter he did so . It has been seven years since he left from his father's side but it seems that there was no any closeness between them anymore , they ate in silent until the queen tried to speak to break the silence.

"It has been a while Asa , how have you been ?" she asked him.

"The same ". Asa replied shortly after the queen , he was openly showing that he was uninterested in her conversation.

" Your son has grown up and he becomes a very good looking his majesty , I think he takes after you " . Queen Melissa tried to charm the conversation .

"No , he takes after his mother . She was beautiful than all among the women I have ever met in my life" the king commented.

CLANG ! , Asa dropped the knife and a fork on the table . The king's words angered him , he furiously stared at the king and then back to the queen and her daughter . He stopped eating and stood up from his chair .

"Thank you for inviting me to the dinner but I don't feel well today , I need to rest" . He didn't wait for the King's permission , Asa strolled out of the room .

He met his guards waiting for him outside the door , he passed them without uttering even a single word to them.

He went direct to his room and strongly closed the door behind him . After that he let himself sit on his bed , he put his palm on his forehead and leaned forward , tears started rolling down from his face.

Asa was feeling uncomfortable sitting near his father , the current queen and her daughter , he doesn't feel good around them for a particular reason . When he got invited by the king to the dinner , he thought for a little bit before he decided to go . After he heard the king mentioned about his mother who died mysteriously ten years ago , he felt a sudden pain in his heart , he didn't want to show them how miserable he was . He run away to hide his face because he was about to cry .

The king reminded him of his mother , it has been ten years ago but he will never forget about his mother's death .

He slowly stretched himself on the bed and later he fell asleep.
