Story 3 - Pokémon Z: The Legend of Zygarde

Genre (s): Fanfiction/Adventure

Written When? 9th Grade

Prologue

The world of Pokémon is a world of mysteries and legends, but no legends are as amazing as the legend of Zygarde (A.K.A., Z). Whenever the ecosystem falls into disarray and trouble, it shows its face and demonstrates its full power.

Z has five forms. The first form is a Zygarde cell, which, of course, is just a cell. The second form is a Zygarde Core, which is a 3D form of the Zygarde cell. The third form is Zygarde 10%, a dog-like form. The fourth form is Zygarde 50%, a snake, dragon-like form, and finally, the fifth form is Zygarde 100%, which is a Godzilla-like form. Each form is more powerful than the other.

Thanks to Team Flare's failed attempts to catch Z, they were destroying the ecosystem and Kalos region overall. Only Z and one companion, the Chosen One, could save it.

Just as the prophecy states: When time is right and you are might, my ally you will become and fly to the light, etc., only one person could assist Z. However, who was that one person? Team Flare, especially Scientist Bryony and Leader Lysandre, were desperate to find that one person and make sure they didn't help Z. Whoever it was who was the Chosen One was in great danger.

Team Flare has searched their whole lives for Z, and they weren't going to let one person destroy their plans. That was not how they rolled. All Team Flare had to do was find the Chosen One, kidnap him/her, and use them to capture Zygarde. Once they did, all of Kalos would be theirs.

Team Flare's underground base, Flare, Dare, and X, Y, and Z, sat on the outskirts of Maricuda City, a city that floated in the ocean and had a great legend behind Z.

Inside the base, Lysandre, Team Flare's boss, sat in front of a computer screen. His Pyroar was next to him. Lysandre was talking with Bryony. Her face was visible on the computer screen.

The short-length, green-haired scientist focused her attention on her boss and said, "Sir, we have not been able to track down Z One yet, but we have a pretty good idea of who the Chosen One may be."

Lysandre sipped his cup of coffee. "Excellent," he spoke in his deep, scary voice. "Well done, Bryony. Find him. Bring him to me." He lowered his cup. "If we have the Chosen One in our clutches, then he will not be able to help Z. We must try all we can to stop it from transforming into 50% form."

"I understand, sir," spoke Bryony, as her Drapion appeared next to her. "I'll put our plan into action right now. Without the Chosen One, Z One will be vulnerable. We will capture it, sir, and use its power to help us achieve our goal."

"Correct. Do not fail me, Bryony. Bring me the Chosen One. If you can, capture Z One and bring it, too. If you do, I will consider giving you a promotion."

"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir." Bryony hung up, and the computer screen went black.

Lysandre remained seated.

His Pyroar soon approached him, and it sat in front of its master.

Lysandre peered down at the lion-like Pokémon and said, "This is it, Pyroar." He lifted his hand and rested it on Pyroar's head. "Before you know it, Z will be ours, and Team Flare will rule all of Kalos."

Pyroar nodded, seeming to smile evilly.

Lysandre soon stood up. He pulled footage of Zygarde's 50% form up on the screen. He sat back down and admired it. Lysandre ran his fingers through his beard and said in an evil voice, "Enjoy your last days of freedom, Z One, because you will soon help me rule the Kalos region. I'm not going to let those kids get in my way." He was talking about Bonnie, Serena, Clemont, and Ash.

Lysandre was certain that time, Team Flare would succeed. All he had to do was wait for Bryony to bring him Z One and the Chosen One. Again, though, who was the Chosen One? Also, would the Kalos region survive Team Flare's rapid rampage?

Many mysteries floated all around Kalos now, but all of them would soon be discovered. It was time for Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie's biggest adventure to begin!

Lysandre grinned evilly and started to laugh. He had a very intimidating laugh.

While he laughed, outside of the base, high in the sky, soaring over Maricuda City was, unbelievably, Yveltal (Y). Following it close behind was Xerneas (X). Why had they arrived? What was their point being there? Were they there to help Z?

While the two Legendary Pokémon soared across the sky, they roared. Then, just like that, they vanished. All was still and quiet in the Kalos region once again.

Pokémon Z:

The Legend of Zygarde

Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town had finally done it! He had finally collected all eight gym badges of the Kalos region. The journey had been long and strenuous, but he succeeded, as always. Now, he and his best friends, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, and Pikachu were on their way to Victory Road and the Kalos League.

Before going to Victory Road, they decided to take a side quest. There was going to be a huge Pokémon Showcase in Maricuda City. Serena was desperate to try it with her Eevee. Therefore, that was where they were going first.

Ash didn't want to rush to the Kalos League. He still wanted to explore the region. It was so beautiful and majestic. He had no qualms about traveling to Maricuda City. He and his friends heard it was a beautiful city.

Maricuda City rested on a piece of land that floated in the ocean. The only way Ash and his friends could reach it was if they took a ferry from the mainland.

Bonnie, Clemont's little sister, had never been on a ferry, so she was excited. While they trekked through Maricuda Woods that would take them to the dock, she laughed and scurried in front. "Come on, slowpokes!" she announced, and she waved. "We'll miss the ferry if you don't hurry!" The six-year-old chuckled and leaped over a log.

Behind, Clemont, who breathed heavily, called to her. "Don't go too far, Bonnie. Be careful."

"Don't worry, Big Brother!" Bonnie called back. "I always am!" She peered down at the bag she wore. Bonnie blushed when she saw that Dedenne and Squishy, two of her best Pokémon friends, peered into her face.

Dedenne was a hamster, mouse-like, Electric and Fairy-type Pokémon, and Squishy was a squishy, blob-like Pokémon. It was green all over, had only one eye, and a red gem rested on both its front and back.

Still blushing, Bonnie waved down to her friends and said, "Let's beat the others to the dock, Dedenne and Squishy!"

"Dene dene dene!" Dedenne spoke.

Squishy just nodded.

Bonnie continued to hurry through the beautiful forest. She soon stumbled upon a sparking flowing river. "Oh wow!" she cheered, and she blushed again. "It's a river!" The little girl laughed and started to hop across the river on its stepping stones.

Dedenne's cheeks sparked every time some water hit them.

Squishy closed its eye.

Soon stopping, little Bonnie kneeled and peered into the clear water. "Check out the Goldeen," she told Dedenne and Squishy, pointing at the water.

Fish-like Pokémon, Goldeen, swam around in it. A few of them stopped and peered into Bonnie's blue eyes.

Where Ash, Serena, and Clemont were, Serena looked up some information about Maricuda City on her Pokédex. "Check it out, guys," she announced, and Ash and Clemont glanced at her. "It says here that Maricuda City is best known for its ruins, the Z Ruins."

"Z Ruins?" Ash asked.

Pikachu, who rested on his shoulder, questioned, "Pika?"

Serena nodded. "Yes."

"Oh," said Clemont. He leaned in towards Serena's Pokédex. "I've heard of the Z Ruins before. It is said that they are where Maricuda City first began. According to legend, the city was made way back then, by a Pokémon known as Z."

"Z?" Ash questioned. "Huh, I'm curious."

"Why don't we check them out?" asked Serena.

"Sure," both Ash and Clemont said at the same time. "That's definitely something worth checking out."

"Let's pick up Bonnie first," chuckled Clemont. His smile died instantly when he thought he heard something. It sounded like a song. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, all the trees, including their tops, glowed up green.

Ash, Serena, and Clemont stopped walking.

"What's that?" Ash asked.

"I don't know," said Clemont, who gripped the straps of his book bag. He gasped, "Bonnie!" and hurried forward, in the direction Bonnie had disappeared in.

"Clemont, wait!" Ash and Serena yelled at the same time behind him. They hurried after him.

The forest continued to glow.

Back at the river, Bonnie, too, noticed the sudden glowing. Her eyes landed on the trees, and she asked, "What's going on?" She peered down on Squishy and gasped when it, too, started to glow. "Squishy?"

Squishy closed its eye. It used its power to survey the area. Nature was trying to tell it something. After a bit, Squishy opened its eye. From out of nowhere, it spoke to Bonnie through telepathy. "Run!" it yelled. "Run, Bonnie! You're in great danger!"

"What?" Bonnie asked. "Squishy, what are you talking about? You have telepathy?"

"Bonnie!" yelled the voice of Clemont. He, Serena, and Ash had made it to the river.

Bonnie glanced at them. "Big Brother!"

"Run!" Squishy again yelled at her.

From deep within the forest, Bonnie heard somebody yell, "Drapion, use Hyper Beam!" A beam of light appeared from the forest and flew right towards her.

Bonnie yelled and froze on her stone.

Dedenne screeched and hid in her bag.

"Bonnie!" Clemont yelled from the riverbed. He quickly drew a pokéball and threw it forward. "Luxray, come out and use Charge Beam!"

The pokéball flashed open, and his Luxray appeared. It roared and opened its mouth. Luxray shot a yellow electric light towards the Hyper Beam.

The two attacks collided. A great explosion threw Bonnie off her stone and sent her tumbling into the river.

"Bonnie!" Clemont yelled again. He hurried towards his sister.

Behind, Ash and Serena drew their own pokéballs and threw them forward. Ash sent out his Talonflame, and Serena sent out her Pancham. They prepared to attack whatever it was that had attacked Bonnie, if only it would show its face.

"Who's there?" Ash shouted.

Glaring, Pikachu's cheeks sparked.

Bonnie, who had been swept down the river, grabbed hold of a rock in the middle of it. "Help! Big Brother!" she yelled.

"I'm coming, Bonnie!" Clemont shouted from the riverbed. He drew another pokéball and threw it forward. "Chespin, come out and use Vine Whip!"

Chespin, his otter-like Grass-type Pokémon appeared, and it yelled, "Chespin!" It pointed its paws forward. From its back shot out vines, and they wrapped around Clemont's little sister.

"Hold on tight!" Squishy called to Bonnie.

Bonnie did.

Chespin's vines pulled her out of the river and dropped her off on the bed.

"Bonnie!" Clemont yelled again.

Bonnie started to cry; she was so scared. Why had someone tried to hurt her? Sobbing, the six-year-old leaped to her feet and threw herself into her brother's arms. "Oh, Big Brother!" she yelled. "Somebody tried to hurt me, Squishy, and Dedenne!"

"It's okay now, Bonnie," Clemont reassuringly told her, rubbing her back. "You're safe. I'll make sure nothing happens to you."

"You better!"

Clemont chuckled.

From Bonnie's bag, Squishy rapidly searched the area for danger.
