Amina Made Her Decision

"I'm sorry…" Amina said in a small voice. She felt the bed dipped and when she looked up, her father had already taken a seat on the edge of her bed facing her. "For running away," She added.

Bernard Hawthorne smiled understandingly. He reached out for his daughter's hand and squeezed it. "Would you believe me if I said I understand why you did what you did?"

Amina didn't answer and just stared at her father. She thought, no one would understand why she did that because it is not them who was trying to run away from a future that was planned for her…a future that she didn't even want.

Bernard Hawthorne sighed. "I don't blame you," He said. "If there is anyone who has the right to decide for your future, it should be you,"
