A Daughter's Betrayal

Elizabeth sat on the sofa inside her parent's home office. On her left is her father while on her right is her brother who insisted that he shouldn't be there but their mother told him to sit and he immediately sensed the ominous calmness in their mother's tone of voice.

The three of them sat like children who got in trouble and were facing detention.

In front of them was the silent and calm-looking Alice Ogden sitting on a single armchair. Alex preferred to have her seated beside him but the moment they entered the room, Alice immediately sat on the single armchair as if silently sending the message that she wanted to distance herself from them. Alex understands but it doesn't sit well with him.

Alice is calm. Eerily calm. And it is not good. She should speak or she would explode.
