A guy who needs a drink buddy

I wouldn't be very surprised if even after these seven years was Jasper same kind of idiot like back then. Thankfully that shit didn't happen again. And if Jasper got any idea like that... I would make him regret it.

"Rayne," someone called my name.

Rising my head, I wiped my hands into the rag I had tucked behind my trouser belt. In my field of vision appeared a guy with braids who was all smile and who was as always dressed up in one of his expensive suits. He definitely didn't seem like someone who would hang around here in the garage. Zayd Hasegawa. I didn´t even know if I was friends with him or... just business relationship.

"How's it goin'?"

I walked around a hovercar I was repairing until now and went to a entrance of the garage where that person was standing. Crossing my arms over my chest, I raised one eyebrow in a quiet question. Wondering what he wanted in here.

"Yeah, just ignore my question," mumbled Zayd but then he decided to tell me the reason of his presence: "I'm going to a bar today and you know - I don't wanna be all alone in there."

I tilted my head to the side, not believing the second part of his monolog. From what I knew, he had many friends, so it was kind of impossible for him to have no drink buddy. I doubted that every one of them would not have time at exact one day.

"Okay, that's not true. But are you goin' or no? You don't get such an opportunity every day," he said as he looked around. People like him really liked to point at all these differences between them and others. I shook my head:

"I don't have clothes for that."

That was true. I would like to go and have some fun. To a certain level. And some fancy bar? Why not, right? But I've never needed to have or even wear that kind of clothing so of course I have none for this opportunity.

Zayd just laughed and shrugged: "That's not a big deal. We'll get you some."

"I have work," I pointed out the obvious. I didn´t have extra time for going around shops and looking for some fancy clothes. And I had no plan to be homeless by next day. That would be really stupid. But he apparently had different plan. How surprising.

"You can take it as a gift," he shrugged casually.

I frowned. I couldn't understand why would he want to buy me clothes as a gift. I've never liked these things. And my birthday wasn't even around so he didn't have any special reason. Just me keeping him company at a bar. Maybe he just wanted to spend some money. Well, of course he wanted when he could afford it.

With another objections I went back to work. We could argue till the infinity about why should I let him or not let him to buy me that clothes or why not to go and so on. So I just let that be and do what I did before.

After that, I went to the front of hovercar and opened car hood. A few years ago, I called these as a cars because there were some similarities, however, these machines are touching floor or something under them only in the state of not moving.

"Really?" mumbled Zayd while sounding upset. I rolled my eyes:

"Then just let me have this done. Shinrin doesn't revolve around you."

Laugh sounded from Zayd. But this one didn't sound very happily. I smiled over his reaction. Since Zayd distracted me from work, I kind of forgot where I was. But I obviously finished here a while ago. Everything all right. So now I could move to the bottom where the problem probably was. The levitation was broken but often things were related to each other.

After I reached out my arm so I could take a spanner, I tightened the screws as a needed. And then I could finally come up from under the repaired hovercar. As I did these steps, I once again wiped my hands into the rag which I threw over my shoulder a few seconds later.

I looked around but Zayd was nowhere to be seen. I grinned. He must has given up. And with this kind of nice thought in mind I turned around and went upstairs. Upstairs was my office where I had to deal with all the annoying things around repairing hovercars and other vehicles. Opposite was kitchen together with living room and then room next to the office. And small bathroom was at the end of the corridor. I spent a lot of time in this building and even lived in here in that not so big room next to the office.

As I opened the door of my office, a pair of black eyes looked at me to which I instantly frowned: "I thought you went home."

That idiot started to get bored down there so he came up here. I guess it´s more comfortable to sit in my leather seat behind the table than waiting in the garage. I shook my head over his acting like some bitchy princess from book for little girls.

"Nah, it was just boring to watch you working. It´s better in here," said Zayd as he leaned more into that seat. Once again, I rolled my eyes. I won´t be very surprised if I end up with my eyes stucket up or something.

Zayd suddenly stood up and went to the window from where wasn´t anything special to be seen so I couldn´t understand what he watched as he stood there looking out to the neighborhood. He was like that for a few minutes before turned around with hands in his pockets: "So we can go now?"

I sighed: "Yeah, sure..."

But before we could go, I still had to write down some things and let customer know that his hovercar is repaired and when he can pick it up. Then I left the office and went to the room where I took out some nicer clothes. Then I dressed up.

"You don´t want a dress, right?" asked Zayd as I came out of the room. I´ve never wore such kind of clothes so it wasn´t surprising that he came to that conclusion. So of course I nodded.

After a few minutes we were in more luxurious area. Better said - at the centre of this city little. There was quite a lot more shops in here and I had to admit that I stared quite a bit at the goods they had in there. Not that I wanted to buy anything.

Zayd pulled my arm and took me to one of those shops with some fancy clothes. On one side was a lot of dresses, skirts, bags and so on, but my sight fell on the opossite side. I went there and looked at everything. It was nothing I would happily wear everyday but from time to time... it wouldn´t kill me. That was my thought before I looked at clothes´ peg next to my right side. I reached out and ran my fingers over the material. Very nice to feel, I must say. Of course some people could afford to have best of the best.

"I guess you have just chosen," said Zayd gladly as he appeared next to me. I shrugged:

"Maybe."

I took off the upper part of clothes from that rack and went to a rack with pants. Black. That was my decision from the very beginning. But there were lots of these. I couldn´t help but sigh. I wasn't used to this much kinds of everything. And I didn´t even enjoy shopping. Actually I didn´t have enough money for shopping like some people did.

Finally I took one that seemed best and turned around to my companion with a quiet question. Zayd looked at content in my hands and nodded his head to somewhere behind me. Confused I looked there. Fitting rooms. Of course.

As fast as I could I went to one of those and changed my clothes. Then I looked at my reflection in the mirror that was opposite that light gray curtain. I tilted my head to the side. This looked better than I thought it would. I nodded my head approvingly and peeked out of the curtain into the room. Zayd was sitting on a milky coloured couch while tapping his fingers on the armrest. As soon as he noticed me, he smiled:

"See? So much talk and then you look better than most of guys."

I furrowed my brows and shook my head. Idiot. Then I changed back to my old clothes and with the chosen outfit I came out from the fitting room. Zayd took it and went to pay. What a gentleman... but not really as it was a present. I could take a rest, finally. Yeah, that´s what I thought before I realized that I need boots, too. What an annoying day.
