“Go!” I desperately whisper. She doesn't need to be told twice.
When Leonid walks into the room, I'm just about to conceal my erection behind the tall back of one of the kitchen chairs.
"Ah, there's our water," he adds, taking two bottles from the counter.
"Sorry, had to take a business phone call," I excuse myself.
"No worries, Dad. Your efforts are funding my schooling. That is something I will be eternally thankful for. I want to repay you someday."
He exits the room after saluting me with one bottle.
My erection has also deserted me.
What in the world have I done?
* * *I'll see Arlene again after supper.
I've spent many hours berating myself. I used to think I was a better guy than this. Leonid may have been cheating on Arlene and may choose to end their relationship, but if he found out, he would despise me forever. Our friendship would be shattered.
