Kettle is everything alright?

The next two days went by in a chocolate daze, Kit made 15 different chocolate recipes. He added nuts, fillings and coated different fruits with chocolate. Most of the recipes were at a very low level, there were only three good creations that had higher stats.

Kit opened his restaurant menu to look at the three new recipes he was proud of, the sight of the information made him smile.

The sound of rain pulled him back to the present, this was the first time he had experienced rain in the game. He looked out the kitchen window and watched the water drops fall from the sky, the rain outside was the other reason he was willing to stop experimenting with the chocolate.

He couldn't work outside when it was raining, it would ruin the chocolate making process. With that thought, he felt it was time to find Snickers and start to finalise his plans for the one star grand opening.

Kit entered the dining area and walked towards Snickers, she was talking with one of the new staff. It took Kit a moment to put a name to the new face. "Good morning, Snickers, Danbo."

"Kit you're not making more chocolate recipes today?" Snickers pouted. "I was looking forward to tasting more of your chocolate creations."

"I'm glad you liked them so much Snickers, but today I can't make any more chocolate." Kit explained about the rain.

"That is terrible news! Does that mean each day it rains you won't be able to make chocolate?" Snickers looked horrified at the thought.

Kit couldn't help but laugh at her expression. "No, once the restaurant is upgraded, I will be able to make the chocolate inside, so the weather won't affect the chocolate making process. That's why I came to find you. I think I have enough recipes now for the grand one star opening."

"Oh, oh! Kit that is fantastic news. I'll grab Leonard, Grandpa, Mars, and Twix, they're at the cemetery working on the respawn arch. You grab anyone else you think needs to be involved in the promotion discussions." Snickers didn't wait for Kit's response, she flounced out the door in a good mood.

Kit didn't stall either. He said goodbye to Danbo, then headed over to the town hall. He wanted to collect Kettle for the discussions, his design of the market stall in Fairweather town had really impressed him. He was hoping Kettle could contribute something to the discussions this time as well.

When he entered the town hall, a flustered Kettle carrying a stack of documents was the first thing he saw. "Morning Kettle."

Kettle jolted as if surprised someone was here. "Oh, morning Kit, sorry but I don't have time to talk today." Kettle then went to scurry off.

"Wait!" After seeing how muddled Kettle acted today, Kit was a bit worried. "Kettle is everything alright?"

A loud sigh left rang in the hall. "No, not really, there is only two of us doing the work of about ten people. There is no staff to build appropriate departments needed to run a village of this size. Then Twix dropped the news this morning that the respawn arch was not far off being completed. This is a disaster waiting to happen!" Kettle's voice got loud as he spoke.

Kit blinked not knowing what to say. Before he could offer any comfort, Kettle started speaking once again. "If the respawn arch is built before we employ town guards, what do you think is going to happen! There will be chaos! Not all CAL blessed are like you and Mars, some of them will steal and even kill. There needs to be some form of established authority to punish crimes before we invite outsiders."

Everything Kettle said made perfect sense to Kit, the problem was he had never even thought about any of this previously. They had been so focused on growing Spartan Fire to a larger size, they didn't think about any of the operational aspects needed for running a village this size. Kit became even more glad that he managed to convince Kettle to come to Spartan Fire.

"Kettle you are absolutely right, I am having a meeting now with Twix and Mars, could you please join us." Kit felt if they didn't get on top of the running of the village now, it could affect the future growth of Spartan Fire.

Kettle pushed his glasses up with one hand and the stack papers in his hand almost fell to the floor. "Thank you, Kit. I will let Willow know that I am heading out." Kettle walked over to one of the wooden doors off the side of the hall, then returned with a notebook in his hand.

As they walked Kit became curious as to why Kettle hadn't employed more people if he was lacking manpower. "Kettle did no one apply for the positions you were talking about?"

Kettle started to choke, then he turned a glare towards Kit. "If I had the authority to employ people, I would have already sorted this mess out!" Kettle clutched his notebook tight, Kit felt that if he was not careful, he would be smacked by the heavy looking book.

He thought about what Kettle said and then realised that he had just dumped Kettle at the boarding house then left the man to his own devices. He hadn't even officially given Kettle a position or asked Kettle how he had settled in. Kit felt a wave of guilt spread at his neglect.

"Kettle, I apologise, I have been very negligent in your care since you came. Today I promise we will sort everything out. Can you forgive me?" Kit felt awful now that he realised how he had abandoned the man as soon as he came to Spartan Fire.

Kettle ran his eyes over Kit and pursed his lips. "Ok, I forgive you this time. I know that your restaurant promotion is fast approaching, and you have been busy with that. It is also my fault for not taking up my grievances with you as well."

With a plan to discuss the issues with the others in place, Kit and Kettle settled into a pleasant conversation on the walk back to the boarding house.

When they arrived at the front door Mars was waiting to greet them. "We are in one of the lounge areas. Follow me." Mars led them to where the others were seated. Snickers, Leonard, Grandpa, Twix, and Cupcake were sitting in the room.

Kit looked at the unexpected extra, then he thought about the upgraded boarding house. Cupcake also had some talent in design, he thought it was a good thing for the large man to attend. "Right, now that we are all here, let's get started." Snickers took the lead in the meeting.

"Kit, can you share the blueprint so we can all see it please." Snickers gazed expectantly at Kit.

"Um, I don't know how to do that." This wasn't something he had done before.

Mars was the one to answer him. "Just say it out loud."

Kit opened his restaurant menu and went to the new blueprint. "Share blueprint." A large roll of parchment unfurled on the coffee table the group was surrounding, the blueprint was displayed for all to see.

It was a simple rectangle design with the building split into three sections, kitchen, dining, and outside dining. None of the extra blueprints he had already added to his current restaurant where displayed. "Excellent, now can you share the other blueprints that you have collected."

Kit started to get an idea of what Snickers wanted to do, she wanted a visual of all the features that could be added. He quickly shared the other blueprints and a neat stack of parchments sat next to the restaurant blueprint. Snickers picked up the pile of new papers and started to look through them, once she was done, she passed them to Leonard sitting next to her.

Once everyone was done looking at the extras that could be incorporated into the restaurant, Snickers separated them in to two piles. Kit noticed that each stack was a different colour, one was yellow and the other green.

"This yellow pile is the designs that can only be built inside the restaurant, the green ones can be built as external additions or standalone structures." Snickers then picked up the yellow blueprints she had just explained.

"The first thing we should do, is figure out where to place these inside the restaurant." Snickers laid out the shop in the shop, bar, toilet, and singing room blueprints. Kit had a feeling this was going to be like a game of Tetris.

Discussions then flowed on the best possible placement of each blueprint. The four pieces of paper kept getting moved around the large restaurant blueprint. "Kit this will not work, if you build all four inside, then your table space will not be much different from now."

Leonard had advised him earlier that the yellow and green blueprints were scaled to the size they would be once built inside/outside the restaurant. This allowed them to see the amount of space each would be once built.

Kit pinched the bridge of his nose when he realised that not all the blueprints he received could be built yet. The singing room took up two fifths of his dining room floor space, the shop in the shop took up one fifth, the bar and the toilet took up roughly another fifth, this left one fifth of the floor space for dining.

Kit felt a headache coming along, "Let's take out the singing room, there is no other way." Kit pulled the blueprint off the table and put it away.

"Don't worry Kit, we will eventually build it." Snickers comforted. Kit just smiled at Snickers in thanks. Luckily out of all the additions he could build, the singing room was the one he could part with without too many grievances.

They soon all agreed on the new layout of the restaurant. Kit felt his smile grow wide as he stared at the floor plan. The shop in the shop took up a space at the front of the restaurant against the front wall and one side wall.

The bar and toilet were at the back of the building. This left a large open area for all the dining tables. He was very pleased about the space left, it would be more than enough for triple his current dining space.

Now that they were done with the inside, Snickers pulled over the green pile of blueprints. The green blueprints figuration went more smoothly than the yellow because they were external additions to the building.

Kit felt his body was on fire with all his excitement as he stared at the final result. Six blueprints were now attached to his restaurant, a restroom, big cool room, storage facility, animal café, waiting to enter area, and wine cellar.

The pond was not included because it was not attached to the building and could stay in the same place it was currently. Kit then looked over to Leonard, "How long do you think it will take to build?"

Leonard scratched his chin, "About a week if you want it to be something special. If not, it can be slapped together in two days."

Kit had seen numerous examples of Leonards work, including his current restaurant. He was more than willing to wait the week for the building to be finished. Kit turned his attention to Snickers and Grandpa. "How long will we need for the invitations?"

"If we send the invitations today, a week will be enough time." Grandpa replied.

"Then I guess we are ready to go ahead with building the new restaurant!" Kit chest started to pound as he spoke, it was finally time to commence with the one star promotion!
