"I'll definitely do a great job. I'm Dhyn by the way." The middle-aged man replied.
"I see, it's good to know that." Luke shook the man's hand once more and turned to Obed. "You can deal with the balance right?"
"Yes, I can. It's not a problem. I'll pay you back later." Obed answered Luke.
"There's no reason to pay back. Just make sure you don't destroy it again. Now, let's head inside. I'm hungry as hell." Luke tapped his best friend by the shoulder and walked past him, into the building.
He walked back out. "Change of plans, we're going to any restaurant close by to eat. I can't wait till you're done cooking." Luke tapped Obed's shoulder again.
"He has shown you the apartment right? We'll be leaving now. You can get to work, but if you'd like to have breakfast first, then let's all go together. The restaurant is just around the corner over there." Luke pointed to a corner on the street.
"Then let's head there first. I'm quite hungry myself." The man named Dhyn answered.
"That's great. Then off we go." Luke was already walking away from the other two.

They arrived at the restaurant and ordered from the menu placed before them.
While eating, Luke often complained about how he missed normal food.
"You're back now, just fill your stomach and stop talking." Obed spoke with his mouth filled with meat.
"I only had meat for two weeks. I'm surprised I can still eat meat after what happened." Luke kept stuffing food into his mouth even while he was talking.
"There was this beast. I think it was called the uhh… yes the rabid jackal. On the night we arrived, I left the group and wandered with a guy named Kyne. He talked a lot but it was nice staying with him. Late that night, the rabid jackals attacked us."
"Surprisingly, I killed them and we slept peacefully. In the morning, we got hungry and the only thing left around was the body of these beasts. I took out my dagger and cut a piece of it, washed it, and roasted it. Its blood was stinky but the meat turned out to be good. Tasted a bit like beef." Luke narrated to Obed but Dhyn was with them so he heard the conversation.
"So you're a newly awakened Chosen?" Dhyn asked Luke. He had no idea his clients were Chosens.
"Uhm… yeah something like that. I just returned from the training zone. If that makes me a Chosen, then yeah." Luke admitted rather humbly.
"I... It's an honor. I didn't imagine you were one of them." Dhyn dipped his head in respect.
"I'm not the only one." Luke turned to face Obed and Dhyn's head unconsciously did the same.
"He's also one." Luke informed the middle-aged man.
"Woah. Two at once. That's amazing." The middle-aged man let out a surprised gasp.
He had his fair share of seeing and meeting Chosens but not two at once.
"Ah, I'm full. Ob, I'll be heading to the store from here. You can cover the bill right?" Luke asked and before Obed could respond, Luke went on. "Sure, you can and you should do that."
"I'll see you by six." Luke stood up and walked away from the table.
"I hope you'll be around when I return." Luke spoke to the man once again and walked out of the restaurant.
Whistling, he headed to the store where he worked.
"I wonder what the old man would be thinking right now. Would he think something bad happened or would he just straight up think I'm dead seeing I don't show up for two weeks?" Luke questioned himself as he walked to the store.
He arrived at the doorstep a few minutes later.
Ding.
The bell rang when Luke pushed it open.
"Welcome new customer." Someone at the counter voiced out when Luke entered.
"Excuse me, who are you?" Luke asked the young male who seemed younger than him.
"Oh, I'm Seth Byhkan. The new worker here. I started working towards the end of the last two weeks.
"Byhkan? Are you perhaps related to the old man?" Luke felt a familiarity with that name.
"What old man? Oh, yes. He's my grandfather." Seth answered.
"Oh, I see. Came to resume work but I can see you've taken the job." Luke sighed.
"Oh, are you perhaps Luke? Then, it's totally fine to resume if you're the one called Luke. I'm currently on a vacation and came to visit but the old man made me stay in his store all day. He said I could be free when you return." Seth seemed happy to relinquish the job to Luke.
"I'll just wait till the old man visits today. He always comes to visit, right?" Luke asked Seth.
"Yes, but he might be late today. He said he had some things to take care of."
"Oh, I see. I can wait anyway." Luke replied and walked to the seat the old man liked to sit on.
"Ah, he said it was something he had to do since you weren't around." Seth informed Luke.
Luke immediately had a bad feeling. It had been two weeks since the previous incident with the gang. They were supposed to come again today and now, the old man had to do something important?
Ding.
The door opened and three heavily built men walked in. All with bald heads and scars.
They didn't seem to notice Luke sitting in the corner. He didn't bother to notify them either.
"We're here for the fee as usual." The one in front spoke with a deep voice.
Luke already expected this, seeing their size and time of visitation.
"Ho… how much is it?" Seth began to stutter. This was the first time he had encountered such a scene.
"Our boss has raised it to ten golds because a certain bastard wouldn't stay put where he belonged." The leader answered.
"I don't thi… think I have that much right now." Seth spoke with a shaking voice.
"We'll just have to make changes to the shop then."
"Hey." Luke called out to them and they all turned to look at him.
"Who did you guys just call a certain bastard?" He calmly walked till he stood in front of them.
When they saw his face, cold sweat ran down their spines.
"Shi… shit! it… it's him. Boss said he was dead and that's why he hasn't shown up all this while. Why the hell is he here?" One of them whispered to the other two.
"How should I know?" The second one whispered.
"As you all can see, I'm not dead and I'm standing in front of you guys. Tell this to Khar for me. Since he chose to be a bitch, I'll pay another visit soon." They all tensed noticeably at the mention of their boss's name.
"You're free to leave." Luke reminded them since they just stood there.
They all turned and hurriedly walked away.
"Ah," They stopped in their tracks. "Have you by any chance seen or heard news of the old man?" Luke asked them.
Cold sweat began to drop from their foreheads.
They had obviously seen him and even knew where he was.
"I'd like to know where he is." Luke slowly walked towards them.
