55. THE WORLD Part I ~Heaven~

Miguel wakes up next to the Ark of the Covenant. He can't move for some reason.

"I had my soldiers inject you with a pufferfish's poison," said Salvi, as he prayed to the Ark of the Covenant.

Salvi meditated silently.

"Spiral staircase, Rhinoceros beetle, Desolation Row, Fig tart, Rhinoceros beetle, Via Dolorosa, Rhinoceros beetle, Singularity point, Giotto, Angel, Hydrangea, Rhinoceros beetle, Singularity point, Secret emperor... Spiral staircase-..."

Salvi repeated these words over and over again.

It's night already. The New Moon has come.

Energies began to appear from Miguel's body as he screams in pain.

"It's you, Miguel JoJo..." whispered Salvi, as he brought out the arrow and prepared to stab his Stand.

"Thus comes... THE WORLD's Requiem..." whispered Salvi.

Salvi lunges the arrow in his Stand.

*TING*

Salvi stabbed his Stand...

But...

It didn't choose him.

The top of the arrow falls off.

"WHAT!?" asked Salvi.

But... Salvi had no faith in himself. Therefore, Salvi was not worthy. Salvi has no power in this world.

"So..." he chuckled. "That's what the visions meant..."

Miguel is now sitting in an Indian Sit, meditating and connecting in the Universe itself.

Before...

"Salvi!" shouted Dominador.

Salvi walked into the room, put his right hand on his chest, and bowed.

"Yes, father?" asked Salvi.

"Low grades again! I expected more of you, Salvi!"

*WHIP*

"Forty lashes on each arm," said Dominador. "As per usual."

Later...

"I believe in you, Salvi!" shouted Damaso. "You can inherit what I am!"

Damaso puts his hands on Salvi's shoulder.

"You can be so much more, Salvi! You can be our people's savior!" shouted Damaso.

"You can make things better!"

"I believe in you!"

"If you can't do it, then you're no better than them."

"That's why only you can save the world and most importantly... our people."

Now...

Arthur wakes up, gasping for breath.

"What the hell? Where the hell am I?"

Arthur looks around.

The Crusaders are at the base of a mountain as they sense massive Stand Energy coming from on top of it.

"Where's Jedan?" asked Arthur.

The others look down. Anne closes her eyes and shakes her head.

"We're gonna die," said Anne. "We're gonna die... We're gonna fail! We're gonna-!"

"Hey," said Jessica, grabbing her hand. "Have faith in Miguel, okay?"

Arthur realizes what Jessica had done.

"Yeah," said Arthur. "Have faith... Have faith in what we believe in... Have faith in us... in others... and in what we'll do. Jessica, may I speak with you for a moment?"

Anne tends to Kariel's wounds and attaches the robot legs Stephen sent them just in case.

"Jessica," whispered Arthur. "You made a deal with Prometheus, didn't you?"

"Yes," she said. "Y-You know about him?"

"I made a deal with him before... He's the reason why Miguel's Stand is so similar to Salvi's... in exchange for my fate," said Arthur.

"What?" asked Jessica.

"He just told me to do it... I-..."

"-...didn't know the consequences," said Jessica.

"Does that a lot to you, too, huh?" asked Arthur.

"You have no idea," she sighed. "So..." she said. "What's our destiny?"

"I don't know," chuckled Arthur. "We just have to believe. Faith..."

"...not rage," said Anne, joining in.

"We're really doing this, huh?" asked Kariel, as he stood with them. "This is the end?"

"The end of the world," they all said.

Salvi walked around Miguel. "Faith?" asked Salvi. "These people treated you like an animal... Like you were no one... Like you were nothing more than a forgotten memory."

Miguel replied. "These people are worth fighting for... even though they hate me... I had a dream... that I would find meaning... and I've found it."

"What is it?" asked Salvi.

"I have a dream... where Grimms, Cryptids, the Bizarre, and Humans would live among each other and live in peace," said Miguel. "I have a dream that there is a world where we'd live all in harmony. No rage... no wrath... just peace and harmony. I'm a lawyer. I'll work hard. I'll work hard and I'll build a world where all could live in harmony."

"We've been below for too long!"

"No race should be below another. If one race is below another, then your world is built with fear. Your fear-built world will just crumble into dust and flow away in the wind. Faith. Have faith in yourself and have faith in others... and have faith in what's right."

"THIS IS RIGHT!!!" shouted Salvi.

"It isn't," said Miguel. "And if you can't acknowledge that, then you are my enemy... and you will die..."

"They're coming here," said Miguel. "In any moment, the Miguel they know will come back and kick your ass."

"I thought you hated Giorno," said Salvi.

"He's no longer Giorno. It's Miguel. We are now the same person," said Miguel.

"You didn't answer my question," said Salvi.

"He came out," said Miguel.

*BOOM*

"You've got company," said Miguel.

Salvi went outside of the temple on top of the mountain.

"Arthur JoJo!" cackled Salvi. "Ah! Hello, my old friend!"

"We were never friends..." said Arthur. "...you're cancer, and you should be taken care of."

"You cannot distinguish what is right from wrong," said Salvi. "My people suffered because of yours... or at least... the people you are fighting for. But in the end, Grimms, Cryptids, the Bizzare... We are all the same... It's those pesky humans that have ruled us for too long!I do this out of kindness!"

"Or you're doing this because of the weight of expectations Damaso gave unto you... No... even your father..." said Arthur. "They've had too much faith in you... and punish you if you don't meet up to that expectation. I've read the books. I've read the Duology. You didn't have a happy childhood."

"Yes," said Salvi. "Just like your son."

"What!?" asked Arthur.

"You inadvertently believed in him," said Salvi. "You had faith that he wouldn't become the worst... and now he's no different from me... That's why I have faith that my son would choose right."

"My son would choose right," said Arthur.

"Dominador City," he took a deep breath. "Named after my father. Most of your cities in this world's Philippines are named after Spaniards. It's pathetic that you fight for these people... I especially hate the Filipinos because they lack self-respect and lack dignity... Humility?"

Salvi spits on the ground.

"Humility... Right... No different than an act of submission to those of a different race..." said Salvi. "Our world belongs to the enemy. It is time for us to take it for ours."

"You're just saying that because that's what your fathers wanted you to do," said Arthur. "What do you want?"

Salvi sighs.

"I want one thing, Arthur JoJo," said Salvi. "I want to destroy the whole Goddamned Universe... and bring Heaven to Earth..."

Arthur sighs.

"Bring the Cryptids there... Kill all the Humans... and have a cup of Goddamned tea with my sons and daughter," said Salvi.

"'Sons?'" asked Arthur.

"THE WORLD!!!" shouted Salvi. "USELESS, USELESS, USELESS, USELESS, USELESS!!! EVERYTHING YOU DO AGAINST ME IS USELESS!!! WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!"
