Knox quickly grabbed the vampire tight as he roamed his eyes down the stairs when the door opened. Luckily, there was no one there, and taking the ways down was safer than taking the elevator.


However, when they were about to step down, a sudden scream echoed in the atmosphere. It's coming from the other corner of the hallways. The vampire halted.


"Wait!" Neal said. He let go from the mafia's grip and then walked forward, but the other man was fast to grab him back.


"Where are you going?" Knox asked with a worried face. "It must be a trap."


Neal furrowed his eyebrows. "I need to check it. You can go down first if you want," he was about to walk when the mafia man talked again.


The vampire didn't say a single word anymore since this man will still follow him no matter what. Those guys chasing them were still in the room and right now they are in the left corner while it's on the right.
