  Julianna's POV

  “Do you feel like backing out?" I asked him, leaning back on a tree and looking into his eyes. He looked back into mine and shook his head.

  "No, this is the closest that I'll get to redeeming myself. I'm not going to throw this opportunity away..."

  His fingers clenched into a trembling fist and I walked over to him placing my own fingers in his until both of them entangled.

  "Whatever happens from here, just know that I'm on your side.. Chester..." He nodded.

  "I know that I don't deserve you Julianna, but thank you, thank you for sticking by me, even though I've been an idiot lately."

  I smiled as the dim glow of the moonlight above our heads somehow made this moment a little bit deeper and then his hands came over to my waist and pulled me to himself. Just then, we heard the sound of a car engine and we both took heavy breaths.

  "It's them..." I whispered into his ear and he nodded.
