Chapter 3

Berry looked away. "He is out doing border checks. There has been concerns about our safety."

"From wolves I bet," Sharpe said.

"How would you know....oh no Sharpe you can't," Berry realized, "please let me explain son..."

"You are not my mother," Sharpe exploded them ran off.

By the time he stopped he was in the graveyard. Then he noticed a single figure by the graves. Then he smelled

something similar to the mixture he was fed. Already knowing it had to be sheep parts there was only one

guess who it was.

"Father?" Sharpe said.

Bark turned around in horror. "Son what are you doing here?"

"I know," Sharpe said showing his rows of razor teeth, "why did you lie to me?"

"Son," Bark said carefully, "you need to understand that..."

"What happened to my real family?" Sharpe demanded, "why am I not with wolves like the ones outside our

borders!"

"No, no, you are nothing like those beasts," Bark tried to explain, "it was years ago and there was a war

between our clan and an enemy wolf clan. I...the Elder ram decided you should be raised as a lamb instead of

being left to die or getting killed. We saved your life Sharpe."

"By murdering my real family!" Sharpe raged, "the wolves I met out there did not treat me like an outcast like

this clan has and now I know why."

"Sharpe," Bark said slowly, "did you tell them where you lived?"

"No, but they run fast like I do," Sharpe said honestly.

"Then I need to go to the Elder Ram immediately," Bark said, "I just have to put back this body..."

Sharpe responded by attacking the dead sheep and tearing it to pieces. Then he was overtaken by a hunger like

never felt and started eating. He paid no attention to a horrified Bark who could only watch his son become

something he didn't even recognize. A real life wolf.
