Chapter 2

Cate could tell the situation was bad and the silence of the boss was even more terrifying: "According to the Intel gathered, the government is going to launch an auction for the land near the new development scheme..."

Cates sighed slowly, "This ambush must have been targeted; the highest bidding price reported is 230 million pounds and we've brought in about 400 million in funds meaning we're more likely to win. "

"If we succeed in getting that land, the Norwegian side is bound to be the most affected since the land has been their base of operations for years. I just don't know which traitor leaked the numbers."

"The old bastards have always been doing tricks to oppose you, it wouldn't be surprising if one of them allied with the enemy in order to shut you down. But what's puzzling is that this time your location was a secret, and only a few people knew, so how the hell did they find you."

The smell of smoke filled the truck, casting a haze on his deep-set features.

"How many groups are fighting for this land?"

Selwynn tore off the collar of his shirt and glanced at the rearview mirror with excitement in the depths of his eyes.

"At the moment, it's only us, the Bellevue Corp and the Conant Inc that we know of, both have ties with the Norwegian side."

Cate continues, "but the longer the time, the greater the possibility of information leaking. The new development lands are close to the docks where all gun and drug shipments come through, if we control the docks then it won't be long before we can build momentum in the Norwegian black market."

"However, the Auction is being held in China, but we need your authority to pull the funds–"

A harsh gunshot interrupted Cate's words.

The tires of the off-road vehicle skidded across the road, bullets ricocheting off the rear.

Selwynn suddenly kicked the car door open with his feet, facing the fierce wind and snow, he took a slight bend and shot!

The dark gun made a deafening bellow as the bullet tore through the air!

A jeep in the diagonal rear suddenly tilted, and with a sharp screech, it veered off the track.

The bullet had blown its tire and it jerked and rushed into the woods, slamming into a tree with a loud crash, the occupant inside spraying blood on the windshield!

"You... are you being chased?!"

Cate was stunned.

"They've been biting me for two hours..."

Selwynn responded nonchalantly, biting the cigarette, and spotted two more cars rushing over from behind.

The windows of the cars fell, and two dark muzzles were aimed at him.

"Bang!"

Followed by another, "Bang!"

Two consecutive gunshots rang.

Selwynn slammed the steering wheel and veered dangerously to the right and the car window shattered with a bang, splashing glass slag all over him.

He grunted and continued the second half of the sentence: "It's not the style of these pussies ."

The corners of his bloody lips curved: "It's those old flies that swarmed up again."

"This is the thirteenth time they've tried to kill you since you took over. It seems that those remnant forces don't want to let go at all."

Cate was worried: "How are you doing now, can you hold up?"

Selwynn swung the steering wheel, a fleet of bullets slamming into the side of the car; blood seeped from his gauze-wrapped waist and abdomen soaking the driver's seat.

They had caught him off guard and managed to land a few shots before he escaped.

His face was cold, and there was a thin layer of sweat on his forehead, he answered coldly, "I won't die."

Cate hesitated: "If the injury is serious..."

"Serious..." Selwynn sneered, "If it's serious, can you send help immediately?"

Roaring noises were heard behind him, Selwynn slammed the steering wheel, and the gunshot-riddled car broke through the siege, avoided a wave of bullets, and rushed into a small fork that could only accommodate one car.

Cate sighed: "It's impossible, the helicopters have been held up by the immigration bastards and even the cars are unavailable..."Shut up! "

Selwynn took a heavy breath, dispelling the strong scent of blood in his mouth, and bit the cigarette, the taste of tobacco stimulating his body, "Get all documents ready, after this, we're going straight to China..."

He glanced at the rear-view mirror as he sprinted through the snow, his car swaying constantly, occasionally appearing through the gaps in the surrounding trees.

The whistling blizzard poured in from the broken windows, and he fired a few shots at the back without turning his head; it was until the bullets were exhausted, he gasped and continued: "Transfer 50 million into a few offshore accounts, I might need them, don't care about the rest."

"Bang!"

The car jerked precariously-

The tire was finally blown out!

The off-road vehicle rushed out uncontrollably, and Selwynn frowned slightly.

Before the cars behind took the opportunity to outflank and hit him, he decisively turned the steering wheel, stepped on the accelerator, and drove the off-road vehicle to directly break through the ice and plunged into the river next to him!!

The icy current swept through and flooded the car instantly.

Selwynn kicked open the car door the moment he fell into the water and plunged into the freezing waters, rushing to the other side as the car sank into the icy depths.

The attackers jumped out of their vehicles and stared at the river, the blazing bullets kept firing into the water, and the river's surface was turbulent.

Ice and water slag splashed everywhere. The bullets hailed the river, but the resistance in the water caused the bullets to deflect and miss his vital point.

He didn't rise but kept swimming forward, only when he could feel his lungs were exhausted, did he raise his head and took a breath.

Immediately, bullets shot overhead.

But he dodged faster.

The river is wide enough to divide the two banks. If you want to catch up from the South Bank to the North Bank, it will take half an hour to drive from the land at the fastest. If they went into the water to catch him–I'm afraid they wouldn't dare.

Selwynn climbed ashore.

A loud swearing in Norwegian came from the other side.

Selwyn glanced back coldly, sneered, and quickly escaped into the dense woods.

After running for an unknown amount of time, the sky darkened and darkness itself is the perfect umbrella for filthy creatures in the dark.
