"Incoming!" We hear Maggie yell

"Go I got this" Natalie says checking on Jenelle

I run to the pit

"Jane Doe she looks to be 115 pounds and 5 foot 3, a person called in found her seizing believed to be an overdose," the paramedic says as they wheel her into the trauma room

"Move on my count," I say placing my hands on the board grasping the handles

"2"

"3"

"Move," I say not looking at her face

We move her over and that's when I see her face, I back away

"Dawson" I hear Maggie yell, I look at her "Dawson you ok?" I shake my head no

"She isn't a Jane Doe that is Kaitlyn Montgomery age 31 has 2 kids has an addiction to painkillers, the last time we talked she said she was 5 years clean," I say she was my rehab buddy, we helped each other the last time we talked was little over a year ago

"Dawson leave this is too personal for you go!" Maggie shouts as Dr. Choi rushes in

I walk out watching them treat her, my hands shaking

I call Alex, Kaitlyn's husband

"Kennedy hey how are you?" He asks picking up the phone

"Right now scared, Alex Kaitlyn is here in the hospital a guy found her Overdosed in a park," I say holding back my tears

"Dammit I knew she fell off the wagon a few weeks back, I'll be right there," he says hanging up

I walk over to the nurse's station and grab an iPad and decide to look at Jenelle's chart one more time

I look through and spot something near her Kidneys, I zoom in

"Oh my god," I say rushing to find Dr. Manning

I finally find her "Dr. Manning look at Jenelle's chart" I say

"I have a dozen times," she says sitting down

"No, I looked closer and found something weird near her kidney which I just spotted" I saw showing her the scan

"Oh my god how have we not seen that before," she says placing her cup down "that might be the reason for all the pain" she adds standing up

"Cmon I told them to release her a few minutes ago" she runs out and I follow

We walk into her room to see her packing

"Jenelle we found was is causing your pains, when you came in you said the pain was more on the left side right" and Jenelle nods

"Well Kennedy looked over your chart and saw a hole that's what is causing the pain," she says and Jenelle stops in her place

"We can fix it right now Jenelle," Natalie says and she starts smiling

"When can it be done," she says sitting on the bed "now if you want," she says

"Yes! Yes please" she smiles putting her bag back on the floor

"We need to do some pre-op work so we will have a nurse come in and do that and Dr. Dawson and I will be doing the surgery," Natalie says before walking out if the room

I walk out to see Jay walk in with Olinsky and Atwater

"Dawson" I hear Alvin shout and I walk over

"Any patients from the second shooting awake," he asked and I nod telling them to follow me

I stop and walk in to see him awake and aware

"Owen these detectives want to talk to you about the shooting today," I say

"Ok," he says sitting up and looking between the 2 men, Jay came cause he needed to talk to Dr. Charles about something

I walk out to see Alex walking in, he looks over and he rushes over to me

"Where is she?" He asks in a frenzy grasping my arms in his hands

"Follow me," I said walking slowly towards the trauma room to see them hooking her to a heart monitor

I walk in with Alex behind me

"This is Kaitlyn's husband Alex Montgomery," I say

"Hi Alex I'm doctor Choi, your wife is stable but we would like to keep her overnight for observation," he says looking at Alex and he nods

"Was it painkillers she overdosed on?" Alex asked looking at his wife who looked pale and lifeless and Ethan nods his head and Alex groans pulling his hair

"I'll leave you; if you have any questions feel free to page me or you can ask Dr. Dawson," Ethan says walking out taking his gloves off and disposing of them

"She was doing so good she just got her 5-year chip," he says sitting in the chair beside her bed

"Ya we talked a few months back before I got back, I didn't have time to call her when I got back last week I got right into work," I say sitting on the edge of her bed

My pager goes off saying it was time for Jenelle's surgery

"If you have somewhere to be I'll be fine" Alex smiles grabbing Kaitlyn's hand

I smile and walk out heading to the operating room and scrubbing in

"Ready?" Natalie asks and I nod

"I still wonder how we missed this in the first place," Natalie says cutting open Jenelle

"It was small maybe it got bigger over the days that's why we never noticed," I say since it looked like a spec on the recent X-Ray we had done a few days ago

"Ya it was tiny on the recent X-Ray," she says and I hold the clamps and she repairs the hole

After 1 hour and a few complications later we close up Jenelle and she heads to the post-op room

"So Maggie said you stayed the night at Jay Halstead's place" Natalie pushes me lightly as we take the operating gowns off

"Nothing happened ok it was after shift, he asked if I wanted to watch a movie I said yes and it was late and I fell asleep," I say laughing as we walk down the hall

"Ok then" she smirks updating the chart for Jenelle

"I swear Natalie nothing happened we had a few beers had Chinese and watched a movie," I say we walk back to the pit

I walk into Doctor Charles office

"Hey Doc," I say and he looks up

"Detective Halstead what can I help you with today?" He asks sitting up

"I wanted to ask about Kennedy, is she doing well, she had a rough past and lately stuff has been popping and I don't know what to do exactly," I said scratching the back of my neck nervously

"Like what?" He asked looking at me

"Her past with Voight, an abusive ex came back in her life and a troubled past with her father all came up and it is all affecting her and Antonio and Gabi both think it'll break her soon and I don't know what to do if she does," I say

"Well, she on anything for it?" I shake my head no

"Well if she is up to it I can do a consultation," he says and I nod my head
