“Hey, Em, have you seen Alrich?” I ask.
She looks over at me. “No, actually. When is the last time that you saw him?”
“It’s been a while.”
“Erin?”
She scoffs. “I don’t have a clue. It’s not like I keep up with his daily activities.”
I shake my head. She really hates him.
“So, do you guys think that he’s guilty?” I ask them. It makes me feel guilty because I consider him a friend but there’s so many coincidences.
“No. I don’t like him but I don’t think that he’s responsible.” Erin says, surprising me.
“Really? I figured you’d be the first to blame him.” I chuckle.
She laughs. “Me too. The fact is, that it’s too coincidental like someone is purposely putting the doubt on him.”
I think for a second. That seems like it could be true. I feel guilty again.
“Maybe I should try and find him. I’m sure this is probably causing him some distress.” I say.
“You will do no such thing!” I hear an angry voice say.
