Part 15

I peered out, through a new hiding place I found, purposely for hiding from the two kings.

“Palt—”

“Argh!” I screamed at the top of my lungs.

It seemed as if my spirit left with the shouts.

“What's wrong with you?” Grog frowned at me.

“Nothing!” I shouted, a bit too fast.

“It doesn't seem like that. You have been acting sneaky for days now. Don't tell me you did something wrong.” He wriggled his brows.

“Something wrong? Of course, I did nothing of that sort!” I narrowed my eyes at him. “Why will you think I did something wrong?” I furrowed my brows.

“You look sneaky.” He shrugged.

“No, I don't. I was only practising my protection techniques.” I forced a smile.

“Protection techniques? What's that?” He furrowed his brows, looking as confused as hell.

“Yes, of course!” I smirked. “As the guard of the kings, don't you think I need to polish my skills?”

“Oh, that made sense.” Grog nodded, easily deceived by my words.
