A vow

After the hunt, I went with Brum, which was more than successful. Despite not being an excellent hunter, I was able to obtain enough games to last us for some time. However, that wasn't the reason they sent me on the hunt, it was to check my progress on my hunting prowess. Brum left me to do all the work, and I didn't disappoint them. My desire to avenge my mate spurred me to get everything done so Ryth would send me out.

I can't wait to get to the kings and show them what I am capable of. I will exert vengeance on the men who took everything from me.

“You are ready to go, Glym.” Ryth patted me on my right shoulder, smiling a bit. It was the first time I'd seen something akin to a smile on her face, and that shocked me more than anything else.

The Stony Ryth, who doesn't smile, finally smiled at me. Have pigs taken to the sky in flight? Is the world about to end? I hope not. Not until I have gotten to those kings.
