Generation after generation passing the 1000-year war, Findara has always kept a particular hatred to one of their so called ‘allies’ for obvious reasons. That ally being Asterin and they equally shared the same hatred back. The land that Asterin now settles on was a gift from the mother witches to Ashton Sterling for defending the coven and mythical beings during his lifetime. Throughout the beginning of the war, he took any refugees and people wanting to be safe into his kingdom and together he worked with them to build a place where you can forget about your past and find your future. After the first battle with Finnard, Ashton was restless as he knew what type of person Finnard was and worried that he would plan an attack in the night. So, he talked with the coven to see if there was a way to help protect Asterin and the mother witches agreed to build a mysterious, over grown forest around the kingdom. This forest is now known as the Forbidden Forest. The Findarians quickly came to realize that they were losing more knights to that maze of hell than on the battle fields.
Asterin, to the passing traveler, looks like utopia in a constant state of euphoria. The kingdom itself was built up against one of the biggest hills in the nation. The vibrant blue, white, and silver villages leading up to the castle with a mysterious waterfall of fresh water running behind the castle and through the whole kingdom seems to make this place more celestial-like. It is as if looking at the night sky during the day but at night it was a kingdom in the clouds. It’s nothing new to see the fairies who travel in and out of Asterin bless the kingdom with beauty and riches. As a matter of fact, the kingdom had all sorts of creature roaming freely. There were golems that took the children to school and patrol the edge of gardens to make sure there isn’t any suspicious activity. The gnomes, just like the fairies, were tricky little bastards. They were always giggling and gossiping news that would spread across the kingdom. There were centaurs, phoenixes, griffins, and as well as other creatures, but they didn’t make many public appearances due to generational fear of extermination. Thankfully they didn’t have to worry about that for a while now.
There is no strict class system aside from the royals, their people, and the magical beings The first rulers of Asterin, Ashton Sterling saw how the people first lived in unity when arriving in the south and fell in love with the idea. It was so different from, what is now known as Findara, The Holy Land and how King Frederick Oliver tried to control everyone with a class system. So, Asterin was built with the additional idea that everyone should help one another. Farmers feed the people, seamstresses dress the people, educators teach the people, and so on. Of course, there is still a system in place such as a currency of bronze, silver, and gold that goes throughout the kingdom, but if an Asterian is ever in the need of money, they simply make a case to the king and a small audience of Asterians. And there are still the royals that oversee everything going on in the kingdom. This is their secret to their happiness: a self-sustainable environment along with avoiding stepping onto Findarian soil.
For the past couple decades, Asterin did not dare to step in Findara due to them not following the peace treaty of all four nations from their ancestors. In fear of starting another 1000-year war, Findara and Asterin have been in a power struggle. The other kingdoms did not dare to interfere with their struggle for the most powerful kingdom as they were too busy defending their own land from Findara. The other two nations would always rely on the help of Asterin since they had more well trained and equipped army. Due to this reliance, Asterin never had a reason to step foot onto Findara. But all that change after hearing the news about Queen Aceline, King Harry Sterling of Asterin was devastated. Not only did he lose his one of his most trusted partners, but he lost his best friend. After this he vowed that he would continue her work, so when there is word of another pointless Findarian ball or festival, the Asterians will attend. For years they have been going for one of three reasons. The first is that Asterians love making them mad by flaunting the kingdom’s wealth, pride, and happiness to anyone and everyone in sight. The second is that this was the only way Asterin could ever get their business affairs sorted out with Findara was to walk straight up into their kingdom, and since Findara is always putting up a façade they had to oblige and talk with the Asterians. The third is that while King Harry and a few others keep the Findarians occupied, the prince and a select few Asterians help people escape from the kingdom of horror.
The heir to the kingdom, prince Jack Sterling, is an enigmatic character to look upon. Despite his intimidating looks, intelligence, and sharp glare, he is still a man with a huge heart and kind gestures. Even a heart as big as his, does not stop his rage for Findarians. The prince is not clueless as to what goes on in that kingdom, he has always been warned about Findara and after his dad shared the death of Queen Aceline when he was a kid, he did not want to imagine what could possibly be going on in Findara. At a young age Jack heard some of the tales of how people live and would do his best to reassure them that they are safe. Growing up Prince Jack had one goal, focusing on tightening Asterin's relationship with other kingdoms in hopes of giving Findara a taste of their own medicine.
