Liam, very much aware of the tension building in their synchronised heartbeats and breathing, the fiery tension between their eyes and the orchestra stirring up within his belly, decided to quiet things down by clearing his throat distractingly.
"We should leave, too, you know." Liam said, leaning back towards his chair and away from her face.
"Yeah, you're right. We should. Not like we have anything doing tomorrow since it's the weekend, and I wouldn't want to be a bother to ask that we go over to your place, you know, to continue our hang…" Ava kept spilling words awkwardly as she was seeking some form of response from Liam that she could find clarity in.
"Ava, chill. I'd have loved to continue this hang anywhere else, but not tonight. And don't ever feel that you are a bother to me, you aren't. Let's leave." Liam said to the blazing eyes of Ava who was slightly tipsy by the alcohol she'd had, and if Liam was being honest, he was feeling a little under its influence as well.
Liam got up from his chair and stretched his hand towards Ava to help her get up. She grabbed his hand and in an attempt to get up, she staggered slightly, holding on to Liam's grip tightly to maintain her balance.
"I'm not drunk. Don't say that." Ava said as she burst into an euphoric laughter that drew the attention of most people in the bar towards them.
"I wasn't gonna say that." Liam said as he joined in her infectious laugh while he held her hand within his arced elbow as they advanced towards the exit.
Ava, whose eyes was fixed at Liam's gesture, laughter and his care, smiled in slow motion as she revelled in this moment.
Liam had to leave her hands for a few seconds in order to open the door for her to exit before him, and Ava wished he'd just let her open the door instead of letting her hand go.
"It really was a night. I'm glad I came. Thank you, Ava." Liam said to her face while they stood a few feet away from the door of the bar.
"I'm glad you came, too. Although, I must add that this is beginning to sound nasty." Ava said as she chuckled and avoided eye contact.
"Okay, let's get you home." Liam said as he walked by her side towards the nearest junction away from the bar.
"You don't have to do this, you know." Ava said reservedly as she looked towards his face.
"Maybe, but I want to. So, should I hail a cab? Where are you headed?" Liam asked Ava who'd been lost in the sweet words he'd uttered earlier.
"Uhhhmmm…. Where I live?..where I stay? That's Jonesbridge alley. I'll need a cab for that." Ava replied, stuttering through most of her words as her mind was barely focused.
"Okay." Liam said as he walked closer towards the side of the road where he'd get a cab.
"Do you ever wonder what it'd be like to live over there?" Ava asked from behind Liam with her gaze fixed on the residential skyscraper which was a trekkable distance from them.
"The Bull's Dome?" Liam asked as he turned his face to her and moved back a little to be right next to her.
"Yeah. I, for one, would love the view. It's a decent place to get the great view of the city, particularly the night life. I'd also want to have kids there, you know, and the sex? Oh, God. How could I forget how mind melting that'd be with that incredible view?" Ava said sentimentally as she looked intermittently at Liam when she took her gaze off the Bull's Dome.
"Oh, God! I don't think the sex is any different there. But you're definitely right about the view. It's awesome, and living there with someone you love? That's an amazing experience." Liam said as he looked at her, and he enjoyed seeing her gaze at the building with passion and admiration.
"Do you think you'd ever…?" Ava said to the distracted Liam who was looking around for a cab to get her home.
"Hey, wait here. Let me go get him." Liam said to Ava who was about to ask him something as he jogged towards the cab that parked about 20 feet ahead of them.
Nodding his head and drawing his hand towards him in the air, he called on her to come, and Ava, walked towards him, and she took in this view of his smile, his arms and his entirety in slow motion.
"I really wish that cab hadn't waited, I'd have loved more time with him outside of work." Ava thought to herself as she got closer to the cab.
"Thank you, Liam." Ava said as she rested her back on the backseat as Liam shut the door close after her slowly.
"Bye." Liam said while he waved his right hand by the glass where she sat.
"Bye, Liam." Ava said with a smile before waving back as the car was in motion.
Liam smiled as he turned away from the car which had left, and looked towards the Bull's Dome once again while reminiscing on Ava's words.
Liam crossed the road, and headed towards the Bull's Dome where Charlotte's apartment was and where he lived, too.
