The dining hall's door was open and it stood before Liam and Ava who nervously unlocked their intertwined fingers in synchronicity as they neared the entrance.
With their eyes staring at ever corner of the scantily-populated dining hall, they awkwardly and hilariously burst into laughter as they exchanged eye contact.
"We shouldn't have let go of our hands after all." They thought to themselves with their smiles being the most sincere voices in the room.
Liam's eyes strolled from the edges of her face towards her thighs that were an appealing sight his lustful eyes could not not desire. In response to the view he basked delightfully in, his throat shook fast enough to trigger a vibration from his Adam's apple as he unconsciously swallowed up saliva.
Ava noticed his absence and adored his presence within the pleasures her beauty and attraction gave him.
The silence was a two-way street with inverse chemistry that tickled their hearts.
"You know that's not true, baby." A babyish sounding Jerry said to the person on the other side of the phone call he was receiving.
"Baby, I'm happy with you. No one ever made me happier, and I'm not losing that." He continued with a face of sincerity and plea without paying attention to Liam and Ava who stood not too far from him.
Liam and Ava understood that whatever call their boss, Jerry was on was a tense one, and they didn't want to be caught up in an even weirder stance. They looked at themselves with a 'secret agent's glance' and walked into the hall where only two other people who had their faces in their phones were seated.
"Whoa! Was dinner up already?" They thought to themselves before staring at the feast that sat gently and seductively on the table. This was a buffet and Ava understood that her stomach was not going to take it lightly as she planned to eat to her fill not minding whatever impression that gave Liam.
"So, it's just us. What would you be having?" Liam uttered before shifting his gaze from one end of the room to Ava who wasn't next to him anymore.
What??? Ava was suddenly Barry Allen?! She'd found her way to the table where the feast sat and she was already serving herself with all atrociosly combined delicacies that made Liam to laugh a little loud.
He found it cute and his smile was not being any subtle about how he felt.
"What?" Ava turned her face towards Liam who was a little behind her and with food in one large corner of her mouth she muffled with more farcical facial expressions that cracked Liam up a little more.
No one else in this hall was paying any attention anyway, so Liam had no reason to curate his naked laughter as it levitated in the empty room.
Ava had served her food tray with all discordant food that interested her and she left the table, making room for Liam to get his food too.
Jerry was gallivanting uneasily in what looked like tense anxiety from a distance as he kept pacing the hallway with his hands running through his scalp.
Ava, who was watching him with concerned curiosity, ate her meal slowly before Liam came over to the table where she was with his scanty food tray.
Ava looked at his face before releasing an embarrassing laugh.
"Really? You eat infant-sized meals?" Ava thought to herself as he sat next to her in a gentlemanly fashion.
Liam and his polished etiquettes could certainly pass for a British prince's, and Ava fancied him the more.
Ava finished her meals before Liam and headed to the table to drop her food tray, and Liam got up right after her with his tray in his hand too.
While they stood by the table, the two people who'd hitherto been actively focused on their phones got up and left the hall too.
They were alone. With no traces of the pacing Jerry in the hallway, all their guards were set down as they glared at each other with passion that hid behind timidity while their telepathically connected fingers slowly crossed the borders of their wrists in a bid to reconnect.
Liam moved closer to Ava who leaned her butt lightly on the table.
"I know that smile." Ava said with a sinister smile on her face.
"You do? What smile is that?" Liam asked with less curiousity as he had an idea what her reply was going to be.
"That 'I want to kiss you so bad' smile." She replied as she placed more words in her eyes than her twitching lips.
"Yeah. Your smile is mirroring mine now. Come here." Liam said with an affectionate calm as she moved to his front standing only a hair's breadth away from his face.
Liam had resisted enough. He placed his hands on adjacent sides of her waist and it was even better touched than imagined as she smiled with flickers of pleasure sparkling within her eyes which held Liam's gaze and attention.
