"Hey, there, doll," the tall, muscular guy slurred with a wide smirk. His cheeks were a rosy red tint and his hand held an empty bottle. "Leave me alone, please."

Marinette walked away from the drunken man with such pep in her step that she nearly tripped. She heard the guys laughing behind her and she mentally glared at them, not daring to turn that into a reality. Marinette hated taking this path every day.

"Well, well. We got a little mouse in our territory."

Marinette stopped suddenly and her breathing hitched. "Cat..." Said male chuckled and walked in front of her.

"Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. And, for the grand prize of a kiss, do you know what we do to little mice like you?" Marinette rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Oh, please. You wouldn't even harm a fly, ."

Cat flinched and stumbled as he attempted at twirling his artificial tail in a perfect circle. "Shut it, Mouse. I came for a reason. Now, shut up and listen." Marinette raised an eyebrow and folded her arms.

"And if I don't?"

Cat shrugged his shoulders and gave a long, low sigh. "I guess you'll have to put up with the mean, bratty human that goes by...hmm...Lila Rosey?" Marinette's mood immediately switched to one of hatred and digust.

"And I'm guessing you'd escort me to my lovely abode? Oh, what a gentle-cat!" She mocked being a damsel in distress. Cat only rolled his eyes and extended his staff.

"I'm ready when you are, Mouse."

The next few days Marinette tried convincing her parents to tranfer her to another school. "My walk home is terrible," she complained. And worst of all, that kid, Adrien, would always have an eye on her.

"Hey!" Marinette turned in her seat and locked eyes with him. He had thrown something at her again.

He began whistling to himself and doing his work. Madam Bustier called Mari out and told her to go see Mr. Damacliez. There was a snicker from behind her as she stood from her seat.

"Stupid Adrien Agreste..."

By now Marinette was out of trouble and sitting with her large number of friends at lunch. "Hey, girl. I'm planning a party this weekend. It wouldn't be a party without you," Alya persuaded. Mari gave a light sigh and slouched in her seat.

"Sorry, Alya. I promised a friend I'd watch a movie with them," she apologized. Alya frowned and handed her the paper anyway. "Well, if you change your mind, here's an invite."

Mari accepted the paper invite and began chatting with her friends. As lunch passed Mari couldn't shake thw feelibg of being watched. It made her shiver.

"Hey! That's mine!"

Marinette turned to see Adrien picking on Max. The poor kid was being robbed of his lunch. Adrien was having fun with this!

"Adrien Agreste! Give Max back his food, now!" Marinette was fuming. Her loud voice carrued throughout the cafeteria and she glsred daggers at the delinquent.

Adrien smirked and dangled Max's tray above his head. "And if I don't," he mocked her from their encounter a few days ago. Marinette was too angry to realize his word choice as she marched her way up to him and slapped his face with such force it left a red mark.

"That's what'll happen," she warned, and pivoted. The entire pack of students applauded her as she went back to her seat. Adrien stood dumbfounded and wide eyes, but he quickly changed his facial expression to one of triumph, as if he had won.

"I knew you had it in you, Mouse."

Adrien shoved his hands into his pockets, leaning onto the wall. His eyes scanned the neighborhood for his Mouse with a satisfied smirk. "Yo, Adrien. We're gonna go beat some nerds up. Wanna come?"

His friend, Nino, was offering. "Naw, I've got a four o'clock." There were voices heard in hushed tones and some light chuckles. "Oh, your girlfriend? We get it."

Adrien shook his head and just tuened away from the gang. He didn't have time to argue with them. He had to watch for Marinette.

He sometimed questioned ehy he did this, why he wanted her safe. Adrien was never one for protecting anybody. "Ok, suit yourself, man."

Their footsteps dragged along the ground and Adrien was finally alone. He checked the time. , it read.

So she was running a little late. No big deal. Adrien kept alert and checked the time every minute.

Adrien checked the time once more, a ball of worry setting into his stomach. The time read 5:15 p.m. He looked around anxiously.

Did something happen to her? He could only think the worst. "I said, hello!"

Adrien gasped and nearly fell when he heard the voice of someone behind him. He was relieved to see Marinette. "Good, you're here. I thought you'd left me for your stupid little friends."

Marinette just shook her head. "I thought we agreed to not call them stupid." Adrien didn't pay her comment any mind and began walking.

Marinette stood there awkwardly. "Um, where are you going?" Adrien only glanced at her and went back to walking.

"You wanted to see a movie, didn't you?"

The next day Marinette slept in. This weekend was well deserved in her opinion. "Mouse, open the dang window!"

Marinette groaned and fell out of bed, dragging her sluggish body to her window. She yawned and opened it, allowing Cat to come in. "Where have you- Are you to tell me you missed our little date for a cat nap?"

Marinette only went back to her bed and plopped herself on it. "Go away, Cat..." This only angered Cat.

"No. I come all the way over here, escape my father, sneak past the security, and risk being caught by the police just to see you, and you want me to leave? Not a chance, Mouse." He dragged Marinette out of her comfy bed and stood her up.

Then his miraculous beeped and he started panicking. He covered Mari's eyes and cautioned, "Mouse, whatever you do, don't look." Marinette laughed as Cat detransformed.

"Really, Adrien? You really thought I didn't know?"

Adrien froze and just stared at her with wide eyes. He then glared at her as she took his hands away from her face. Adrien mumbled something under his breath and folded his arms.

"I'm sorry. What was that," Mari asked. She smirked and raised an eyebrow as Adrien just gave a heavy sigh. He rolled his eyes and grabbed her hand.

"Shut up. We have a date to get to, Mouse."
