After going home, I still felt a little woozy from all that catnip, so I asked Plagg about it, to which he mostly just laughed and shrugged.
"Kid, all I can tell you is that it'll mess with me, so since I'm powering your suit and all, it messes with you. I think a few of my past holders have experimented with it, one even got hooked on the stuff, which was bad for me."
"Wait, seriously?"
"Yeah, seriously. Why would I lie to you, especially about that?"
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean it like that! I just thought it was weird that y/n mentioned not wanted to get me addicted, and you actually had someone addicted."
"Ahh. Yeah, well, just don't be around it too often and you'll be fine."
"Ok."
After that I got ready for bed and went to sleep.
The next day, before class, Chloe doesn't come up to flirt with me, so I assume she's still mad I told her she's not better than anybody else.
I don't want her upset with me, but I am glad she's not flirting.
It just feels weird, since I have a girlfriend.
But of course, I can't tell her that, or she'd want to know who it is, and that'd just be a big mess.
During our first class we talk more about the book report, and how far each team has gotten.
Nobody is finished yet, but there are some closer than others.
I don't know exactly how much Marinette and I will end up doing, but I think we should be about halfway done.
Since today is Wednesday, we have today and tomorrow to finish, then we turn it in on Friday.
So far I think we'll get a good grade.
The rest of the day isn't very eventful, and I go to fencing class, where I'm shocked to see Felix standing with Kagami.
I walk up to them, and make sure his hair doesn't look like mine.
It's in his normal style, so I don't know what he's doing here.
"Hi Adrien. Felix is just telling me how he'd like to sign up here." Kagami informs me.
"Oh. Great." I say, trying to sound at least a little enthusiastic.
"Calm down cuz, I just want to fence. Is that a crime?" Felix says, sounding surprisingly sarcastic.
"I guess not. As long as you don't go impersonating anybody!"
"Oh come on, the only one I could do that with is you, and why would I need to?"
"I don't know, probably the same reason you did it before!"
"Nah, your cute girlfriend isn't here."
"Felix!"
"What? You don't think she's cute?"
"Of I think she's cute! I just think it's a little weird for you to say it!"
"You two can talk about this later. I for one, don't care to hear it, and would like to get started." Kagami interrupts, pointing to our teacher, who just walked in, with her saber.
"You're right. Felix, you have to get signed up to fence here. Go talk to Mr. D'Argencourt." I say, trying to cool down.
I guess I shouldn't really mind him saying that, it's sort of a compliment, I think.
But I know y/n doesn't really care for him, so I'd prefer him to not just talk about her.
Though I do appreciate him not revealing who she is, or who I am either.
Lucky for me, I get paired with him, so I can easily blow off steam.
After fencing is over, I head back to Marinette's, since we left the most of our project there.
Her dad is in the bakery as I go up, and offers me cookies, which I gladly accept.
He calls down Marinette, and we quickly get to work, and actually get pretty close to being finished, when my pencil snaps.
"Hey, do you have a pencil sharpener I could borrow?" I ask.
"Y-yeah, in that drawer." She says and points.
"Ok, thanks." I get up and go over, and am opening the drawer when she basically screams for me to wait, but I think it's too late.
I knew she liked my fashion, but this is...
A little scary, if I'm being honest.
The drawer is packed full of my pictures, and some of them have hearts all around them, but what really freaks me out is the fact that they're not all modeling pictures.
Some are ones that she only could've gotten by taking them while I wasn't paying attention.
"J-just ignore that! I'll pencil get sharpener! Sharpener get pencil! Get the pencil sharpener!!" She says, seemingly flying across the room and slamming the drawer shut.
"Uhhh..." I don't know what to say, but I'd like an explanation.
I think I've known for a while that she might've had a crush on me, but that's a bit extreme.
"I-I said it was for purposes fashion!"
"Fashion purposes?" I correct.
"Y-yeah." She says sheepishly.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive!"
"Marinette, do you um, do you have a crush on me?" I decide to just get it over with.
Hopefully whatever the answer is won't ruin our friendship.
I do like her, but only as a friend.
She sighs heavily, before looking up with a determined face.
"Yes. I do."
Uh oh.
How can I let her down gently?
"Wow, I um, I'm flattered, but-" She interrupts before I can continue.
"But you don't like me in that way. I get it, I'm just not good enough. You'd probably prefer someone else rich or famous, like Kagami?" She says quietly.
"No no! It's not that! I couldn't care less about how famous or rich someone is!" I quickly redirect.
"So you don't mind that I'm not rich and famous?!"
"Of course not, I mean, if I picked my standards by that I'd only have basically just Chloe and Kagami as friends."
"So do you feel the same way about me?!"
"I'm sorry, but no. I already have a girlfriend."
I hate how she seems to crumble inside, but I can't give her false hope.
"Oh. I understand. That's fine, I just... I just thought you might feel the same way. Guess that was stupid of me."
"No it wasn't! You couldn't have known, I've barely told anybody!"
As Adrien anyway.
I told all of Paris as Cat Noir.
"I-is your girlfriend Kagami?" Marinette asks, seemingly starting to sniffle.
"No, you probably don't know her. She goes to another school."
I just improvise, but I guess it could be counted as going to a different school.
"Oh. Well I hope you two are happy. We should finish our project."
"Yeah. And I'm sorry, you're a great girl! I just-"
"It's ok. I get it."
She doesn't talk much for the rest of the time I'm there, but luckily we finish, so we won't have to work together in awkwardness.
