Prologue: A Gift

The thunderbolt hit the ground and several cracks appeared where it landed, the flash of lightning blinded everyone who witnessed this. After a few moments, they were able to recover thier vision and what they saw was a figure of a man. He had a spear in his hand which shone brightly and sparkled lighting out it, the man started to walk towards the group of people who witnessed his arrival.

" I am here to deliver important news." The man said as he put his spear on his back, trying to show that he was not here to fight anyone. 

" Even then, you can not suddenly appear inside the palace like this, you disrespected our king." One of the people from the group spoke, he wore ironclad armor but without any helmet.

" I request a meeting with the king." The man asked, he shook the dirt off his clothes while he spoke and then tried to clear his dark black hair. The man had fair skin and golden brown eyes.

" Follow this servant first, at least you need to look presentable when you meet the king." The same knight in the armor spoke. 

" I thank you for your kindness." The man said sarcastically and then followed behind a servant. After he left others finally could breathe as all of them were nervous to even stand in front of him. 

" My Lord, Should we allow a meeting with the king? That man is dangerous, I don't think anyone of us is strong enough to fight him so if he attacks us then we are all done for." One other knight spoke. 

" His Majesty is still young and we are weak, there should have been many enemies who would have wanted to attack our kingdom but because of this man, Vetra. No one dares to even think of that, he is the strongest in the world and nobody could even hope to fight him." The Knight said. 

In the meantime, the man named Vetra followed behind the servant who was leading him to a place where he could take a bath. However soon he spotted someone else, the person he came looking for. 

" Uncle!" A boy from the distance shouted and soon he started to run towards Vetra who waved his hand towards him. 

" Uncle, I ran as fast as I can to meet you." The boy said, he was around the age of fifteen and had black hair similar to the man standing in front of him and had silver-blue eyes. 

" Alec, I was also looking forward to seeing you as well, There is something I need to talk to you about."

" Your knights care a lot about you," Vetra said.

" They are just serving their king, it's not caring but showing loyalty." Alec clarified as he poured a drink for Vetra. 

" Being a king must not be easy since your father just decided to leave everything to you and went to cultivate his strength," Vetra said. 

" I know right, do you think someone as young as myself should be a king?" Alec said. 

" I am sure that many must have already opposed him for this but what can you do when he had already made up his mind?" 

" Uncle, how is mother doing?" Alex asked. 

" She is always researching, even your sister, she has also become a bookworm like her mother," Vetra said. " You must be feeling lonely, right?"

" Not really," Alec said. " Anyway just tell me already what you want to talk about." He changed the topic and asked that. 

Alec Augustine, the king of Augusta kingdom, was just a young teenager who followed the wishes of his father the previous king, and became the king. Vetra hadn't spent much time with him as his uncle, but he knew that his sister's son is always longing for care from his parents.

" I have found something that I want you to have," Vetra said.

' Alec is the perfect candidate to wield this power, I can not think of anyone else.'  He thought and then added, " What I am going to tell you must be kept secret from everyone?" 

" You are making me nervous," Alec said, ' I hope it's not something to do with mother and father.' He thought, he has not met her mother and father for a long time and he was hoping that everything is fine with the two of them.

" Alec, soon the world going to change a lot, long story short. Someone broke the seal of some evil god." Vetra said. 

" Evil god?" Alec was confused, he has never heard of such a thing. 

" It's not exactly an Evil God, but the intentions he has is certainly evil. I want you to be safe Alec because you are a person dear to me. You are more important than anyone that is why I want you to do something for me." Vetra said. 

Alec was confused about many things so he asked again and again but his uncle refused to tell him more than this for now. ' Is it because of that Evil god that father left the kingdom?' He thought. His father was one of the strongest people alive and he could be involved in this. 

" For now, I have come to give you these," Vetra said as he put down a flask filled with a blueish-green liquid and a scroll over the table.

" What are these things?" Alec asked. 

" This is the elixir of life and this is one of the keys to unlocking the gates of another dimension that the god is after. I want you to drink this elixir and protect this scroll." Vetra said. 

" Although, there are many things that you are hiding from me. I still trust you uncle, whatever you have planned must have a reason." Alec said

" I am sorry for getting you involved in this," Vetra said. 

"At least you told me this much at least, my father didn't even give me any clue as to why he left the kingdom to me," Alec said and then asked. " So do I just drink this, it's like some kind of power potion, right?" 

" Haha, It's not a simple power potion, this is the elixir of life. You can drink it but it will not work right away unless it perfectly syncs with your body. Also, it will heal your inner wounds and maybe even your broken core." Vetra answered. 

" You should not joke about my core getting healed, I have given up on it so don't say that it's possible to restore it," Alec said, he was shocked by what Vetra said but even if it was a lie then he was willing to take the risk but still feared that it could also be a failure. 

In this world everyone that has the talent for magic is born with a core, the core gathers the energy and allows them to use magic, an unnatural power to manipulate nature. In an accident, Alec's core was broken and since then he has had to live without that power. 

Without thinking much he drank the Elixir, seeing this Vetra smiled and rubbed his head with his hands.

" Do you feel something different?" Vetra asked. 

" Yes."
