Chapter 6

Ryan's POV.

The sun shone brightly into the room, making me squint. I had always hated the morning light due to how it weakens my eyes, and that is what I get for leaving the curtains opened, all the time. I groaned as I lifted my body off

the king sized bed, before I made my way to shut down all the curtains. The sun has done more than enough harm to my eyes for the day.

I then ambled to the bathroom for a warm bath without calling the guards for help. Today is going to be a busy day for them, the Misty Hill pack are holding their wolf merging ceremony today and as the Alpha of the Alphas, my presence is highly needed. The water was a little bit cold due to the rise in temperature the other day, but I didn't mind as long as I get my body washed and moved to the next agenda of the day.

Without wasting more time in the tub like I usually do, I exited the bathing tub, wrapping a towel around my waist and one around my head. Soon, I was ready for the day.

"Alpha" A voice that I would always recognize everywhere said, even in my sleep. It was the head of the guards and also my personal guard. He bowed to show his respect and I shook my head at him, urging him to go ahead. "Everything for the journey is ready and we had informed the Alpha of Misty Hills of your appearance." He informed as we walked down the stair.

Without giving him an answer, I took a seat at the head of the table, on which a mini feast was arranged and my brother sat at the far end of the table. I have wanted to see him for a while now and all he does is try to avoid me when I intentionally let him do that but today, I will make sure he understands what humanity and respect to the lower rank means.

"Good to see you brother." I said as I picked a plate of freshly baked bread. I took one out of the plate and passed the platedown to him. "I guess, you decided to let us see eyes to eyes today. And why?" I asked without taking a look at him. Williams was the definition of a perfect brother and a mate then. Until, he lost his mate and he became something you'd call a maniac.

I'd be getting daily reports of how he either tries to force himself on the mate less ladies or even those who have mates to get his way or sometimes he does get his ways before he is been stopped. For the first time it happened, I didn't take it serious until I continued to get similar reports for days and I realized I had to do something about it.

"Can't I feel like isolating myself from you and also return when I deem fit?" I furred my brows at the words that just left his mouth. Guess, I have been going easy on him seeing how he reacted after he became widowed.

"I shall have this talk with you when I am back from the Misty Hills. And oh, you are not to be allowed outside of the house premises, no matter what happens." I informed, wiping the side of my mouth with a serviette.

"Hope you understand?" I asked as I turned to face the guard standing by my side. I left the pack house without a second glance. I am doing this for his safety and only his safety or else more harm will come to him or maybe me, who knows.

Just as the name of the pack implies, it was a little cold and foggy. Our first stop was the wolf merging area, I will see with the Alpha of the pack after the ceremony or even not. The place was filled with different kinds of werewolves as the priestess got ready for the ceremony. I guess I was a little bit early to the ceremony.

The people bowed down to me as i passed to show their respect to the Alpha of Alphas. And I uttered nothing as I walked past with my hands folded behind me. I was directed to the seat assigned to me by the beta of the pack whose name I never knew and never bothered to ask. I only have business with the Alpha when he messes up.

Alpha Jeremy is not someone I always liked or adored. Actually, I believe he does have a hidden agenda with the way he acts witty every chances he gets. As my beta had said, he is a hideous man that his face portrays a different and same goes to his mind and heart.

"Alpha Ryan." I heard Alpha Jeremy's voice and I turned to come face to face with him. If I could describe his facial expression, then it will be corny. "Yes." I answered with a straight and stern face. I want to be done with this sacred ceremony and return back home to deal with the matters I have at hand. But then, my gut was telling me something huge is about to happen and I might not benefit from it or maybe I might, but no one knows.

"I am pleased to have you here, or should I say the whole pack is pleased to see you after a long time. The crowd are jubilating which explains how much they must have loved you." He said but quotes it as sarcasm. I only answered him with eyes and turned my attention to the wolf merging space. The stage was filled with both girls and boys that came for their wolf merging and I realized how much of a generation the world is trying to keep as year goes on.

I sniffled my nose in to air as a particular scent filled my nostril, starring my wolf in the process. This is it; the moment I have been waiting is finally her. "Mate" I grimaced inwardly as I got a glimpse of beautiful face.

"Did you say anything Alpha?" Jeremy asked, as he smiled towards the same person who happened to be my mate. But the question here is; does he know that she is my mate or they have personal affairs together.

I ignored his question, looking out for the start of the ceremony. Soon, the priestess started her incantation and most of the kids got their wolf merging done happily. Except one person, my mate. She stood there with her eyes closed as she waited for her wolf merging. When everyone was done with the merging, the priestess made her way to her and held her firmly. She chanted some words and from what I got, my mate is wolf less.

I watched as the priestess hurriedly let go of her and shook her head at the girl while she asked what was the matter. Soon the crowd started to call her a stealer, a name given to some one without a wolf.

Of course, she would be called that. The hungry widowed men rushed to pound on her and I watched with keen interest. Will I allow my mate to be feast on by the widowed men that are attracted to wolf less ladies or will I do something to help her?

If those men are to have their ways with her then I don't think she would be able to see the next day light, even if she does, then she will be as fragile as a new born baby.

"I want them stopped." I ordered in a calm tone after having a think about it and also seeing Jeremy made no attempt to stop them.

I flicked a finger to call the head of the guards forward. Seeing this, I know Alpha Jeremy will try to strike a deal with me or any other part but then, I will emphasize on me. I am the Alpha of the Alphas and he will have to come to me first.

As we walked towards the gate, enclosing the pack, I stopped. I turned to take a last look at the pack, maybe I will get a glimpse of her and see how she is fairing. "I want Alpha Jeremy invited for brunch at the Blue Moon pack. I will give you the go ahead when the times comes. " I commanded.

"Yes Alpha. " was the reply I got from him as we mounted our ride back home.

I have always been ahead of Alpha Jeremy but now, he keeps on getting more witty as the day passes. So, I decided to keep an eye on him and his daily activities to see what evil he has been plotting.

I will make sure he achieves none of his plans, it is a promise that need to be executed or my position as the Alpha of the Alphas will be threatened.
