Paratap Rai and Jairam

At a distance of one kos from Brahmanabad, Jairam saw his caravan.

Finding it inadvisable to join the caravan with Vasu, he changed his route and entered the city by another gate.

A young man named Narayan Das was his old friend in Brahmanabad.

Jairam left Vasu at his house and proceeded to the royal guest house.

After a while Pratap Rai arrived there along with soldiers and prisoners.

He looked at Jairam and said to me why did you pretend to be a hunter, Why didn't you tell me clearly that you wanted to meet King (Raja) before me, now tell me what King (Raja) said after hearing your sister's story?"

"I have not yet met King (Raja), nor did I intend to do so?"

Satisfied, Pratap Rai said, Jairam!

I believe you did not lie about your sister's disappearance.

Apart from the Arabs, I have also asked the prisoners of Serandeep.

They all confirm your first statement.

If they complain to the King (Raja) that apart from your sister, a Muslim girl has also disappeared from the ship, then it is possible that the King (Raja) will hold me responsible for this.

I am also ready to say in front of the King (Raja) that my sister was not on the ship and the incident of the disappearance of the Muslim girl is also not true.

But when the prisoners also complain that they are missing from the ship, your statement will not satisfy the king.

Jairam said worriedly.

What do you want to say?

"First you tortured Zubair and Ali to force me to admit that my sister did not disappear and now you insist on proving that the Arab girl and my sister disappeared from the ship."

Pratap Rai replied,I want to ask what is the compulsion that made you hide your sister's secret,

Jairam says,

"You know that Zubair was my guest. He saved my life and I don't want you to torture him by covering up this incident."

So this means that you have given up your correct claim just for the sake of Zubair.

You are ready to sacrifice your sister for Zubair's friendship but your heart testifies that I kidnapped your sister and I am responsible for the disappearance of not only your sister but also an Arab girl and a boy.

But it is earned.

Jairam replied.

No!

No!!

The misunderstanding I had about you is gone.

"When?"

Jairam realizes that Pratap Rai is preparing a trap for him again.

He said shocked.

After all, what do you mean by these things?

I have promised you that,I will not mention my sister in front of the King (Raja).

Pratap Rai coldly said that what you do not want to say yourself will be said in the language of the Arabs.

It wouldn't matter to me.

First, the secret you wanted to reveal,

I wanted to hide.

Now I am forced to reveal the secret you want to hide.

If you have a misunderstanding about me, there is a reason and I want to know that reason.

I am not ready to believe that you can make such a big sacrifice for an Arab.

No sane person would be willing to accept that..."

So you mean that I myself have lost my sister somewhere.

Your sister's problem is of no importance to me, but it is my responsibility to trace the Arab girl.

It is possible that the Arabs, like you, may have created an excuse for the disappearance of a girl to make the King (Raja) angry with me, but if the question of her disappearance was raised in the court, one of us would have to shoulder this responsibility.

You have to take the head.

Jairam said after thinking for some time.

"Just as,I fabricated a fake story of my sister's disappearance to take revenge on you."

Similarly, they have found this excuse to take revenge by considering me as your accomplice.

I can explain to Zubair and I hope he will not make a false complaint to the King (Raja) at my request.

Pratap Rai said bluntly,

"You may not communicate with a prisoner."

I have ordered the soldiers that you are not allowed to open your chest before appearing before the King (Raja).

Jairam wanted to say something, but an army officer came and informed Pratap Rai that the King (Raja) had remembered him.

Jairam wanted to go with Pratap Rai, but he said,

"The king has reminded me, not you, to sit comfortably, when you are called, I will not block your way."

Pratap Rai took the loot from the ship and left, and Jairam started pacing around in a state of anxiety.

Zubair was sitting in a room with the rest of the prisoners. He strolled in and peeked in, but the guard pushed him aside and closed the door.

Seeing this behavior of a mere watchman from Jairam, Zubair and his other companions began to believe that he was in the same boat with them.
