Declare war against Sindh

Muhammad wrapped the handkerchief and handed it to Zubair and looked at Hajjaj.

He was looking at the map as if unaware of the fall. Muhammad asked,

"What did you decide?"

Hajjaj took out a dagger and sticking its tip into the map of Sindh replied,

"I declare Jihad against Sindh."

Muhammad, leave for Damascus today.

Take Zubair along too.

This letter should also be shown to Amir-ul- Momineen.

Take as many troops as can be provided from Damascus to reach here. Take my letter also to Amirul Momineen.

Don't delay in coming back.

Yes ! If Amir-ul-Momineen is not impressed, trying to make the public opinion of Damascus agree with him and I am sure that Amir-ul-Momineen will not come forward in declaring war against Sindh after seeing the signs of life in the people. I am entrusting you with a great responsibility and you may be entrusted with a much more important responsibility upon your return from Damascus.

On showing my letter, you will get fresh horses from every post on the way.

Now go, get ready.

In such a long time I write the letter and Zubair you also get ready. Hajjaj clapped his hands and slave came running inside.

Hajjaj said,

"Take them to the guest house."

After feeding, change their clothes and prepare two excellent horses for their journey"
