CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

Bella sighed for the hundred and tenth time as she put the book she was reading on the table and looked up at the ceiling. She was tired of staying indoors.

Ever since the rogue attack, neither Achilles nor Alex had let leave her room for any reason and she felt like she was suffocating in it.

Everyone was so deeply concerned about her safety that they did not let her do anything on her own and had guards standing by her room door twenty-four seven. It was exhausting and she wished things weren't so tight.

Nevertheless, she ten times preferred this treatment than the beatings she got on a daily basis when she was working with the Donovans. No one was ever kind to her, not one ever spoke nicely to her. Every now and then, it's either she got beaten or got reminded If the fact that she was a miserable slave.

Her life was in shambles back there at the Donovan mansion and she thanked the moon goddess for taking her away from the household.
