CHAPTER 1

Alpheus once again opened the convenience store's wooden door as per usual. He opened the glass windows letting the rays of sunshine inside.

He flipped the open sign hung at the window.

Alpheus couldn't help but feel dejected, mostly the pedestrians walking on the street were busy lifting heavy carts while some were holding bags filled with their belongings.

The sound of heavy gunfire can be heard as the primary background, he could see the fear of the people and the red painted sky.

The other stores have been firmly shut, letting his store out of all the others stand-out.

Many already had the thought of why a store opened in the middle of an empire that is on the brink of ruins.

But the people pay no heed to the strange owner and store as they're busy evacuating to neighboring countries.

Even Alpheus understood that there would never be a chance this empire might stand firmly on the ground, three powerful countries joined forces just to see the destruction of the Empire of Truaria, and the businessmen from various countries didn't dare to send any supplies nor caravans to help the country especially because of the tense glare of the three empires.

"It's been a whole month already, and yet not a single customer."

Even though the empire is on the brink of destruction, Alpheus had a hope that even a single customer would walk inside his store.

He sighed as he walked to the counter. Alpheus sat on the usual stool at the usual time. He rested his head at the wooden counter gazing at the door.

"Haah, just when will this boredom end?"

Alpheus couldn't help but let out a long sigh, it feels just like yesterday that he met an entity called "god".

"Thinking about it, I shouldn't have accepted that god's request. I mean it was the goddamned god's fault in the first place! "

Just a month ago.

A normal guy named Ah Lou suddenly arrived in this world called Odissi, he had two memories one was from this world and the other was from another, a more advanced world.

At first, Ah Lou thought it was merely an illusion or some kind of joke, he couldn't accept that his soul suddenly transmigrated to another body and another world. But upon seeing the vivid memories and the touch of pain he knew it wasn't a joke, especially just after his arrival he was summoned by a beautiful yet trap-god.

The trap-god explained to Ah Lou thoroughly what this world is currently facing, in simple terms this world is ending. Numerous wars, killing, orphans, shortage of food, greedy nobles, and many more assholes.

The stupid trap-god just waved its slender hands and gave him a completely random system. He thought that he was going to have a gamer system that allows him to level up, but instead what was given is a convenience store system. Yes, a convenience store in another world.

After all the introduction of the god and the memories of the original owner of the body, Ah Lou, or now Alpheus, has fully integrated into his new life.

Back to the present

Alpheus didn't have any trouble with constructing the store, the system did all the work, in just one swoop the store had numerous items and shelves placed.

He also didn't have to worry about food as everything placed on the shelves are completely free to him, the downside was that the system put a count number, Alpheus could only eat 20 food and use 5 items per day.

The revenue is also heart-breaking, the system would get 99 percent while the 1 percent is for Alpheus. At first, he thought of how stingy and cheap the system is, but after understanding that the money is used to restock the shelves, then all his complaints washed away.

Stopping the long monologue, Alpheus started chewing some fruit candy, even though they look small like pills their taste is much sweeter than the candies on earth, unlike candies which have tons of food coloring and chemicals put inside, the candy from the system taste just like real fruits.

As Alpheus was busy chewing on the candy, a muffled chime bell sounded.

Alpheus looked at the person that came inside his store, seeing who it was, Alpheus let out a long sigh.

"What you're not happy to see me? "

A young man in his late twenties with brown hair and eyes, an average face, but what was most intriguing was the long sword tied to the young man's back.

"What are young doing here Ragel? "

"What why can't I visit my cute younger brother? "

The man named Ragel gazed at the store's items, he walked to one of the shelves staring at the small box with eccentric drawings on the front.

"Woah what are these?" Ragel pointed at the small box curiously.

"It's candy" Alpheus replied. Even though he has integrated with this body, it doesn't mean he's comfortable talking with this body's friends, especially the family.

Ragel is Alpheus's older brother, speaking Alpheus has three older brothers and sisters. Some are already married while some of his siblings are working as adventurers from major guilds. Even though Ragel looks like any other man, it was only a disguise.

His real face hidden behind the disguise is quite adequate, he can't show his real face as it would create a massive storm because of his other identity, apart from his normal guy disguise his other name is Icarus named after the god of flames and swords in this world.

The famous SSS-rank Hunter and the owner of one of the strongest adventurer guilds is Alpheus's older brother.

All of Alpheus's siblings achieved hundreds of accomplishments, while for Alpheus the youngest who was the weakest and had no talents whatsoever, in the memories shared by the original owner, Alpheus was always compared to his older brothers and sisters, whether in combat, IQ, magic, every aspect always was he the shadow.

Alpheus was crazy jealous of his siblings as they were always loved by their parents, while for him that accomplished nothing, his parents never even shed a glance at him.

He created a fit of huge jealousy over his older siblings who were fawned over by their parents, driven by jealousy Alpheus ventured to an S-rank forest all alone, he confidently said that he will win and conquer the forest but alas he died because of an E-rank goblin hitting his head with a wooden bat.

Luckily he was found before the goblin tried to eat him.

That's when Ah Lou entered the body and met the trap god.

It was a stupid way to die, and embarrassing as well. Alpheus had to live with that stupid shame because of what the original did. After such an embarring thing, the family cut him off and left him with scarce money.

Alpheus just accepted the money and left, The god's given goal wasn't to become the head of a noble house, and yes Alpheus "was" a noble, his siblings each had a title due to their contributions and Alpheus's parents were viscount and viscountess.

The goal of the god was to save this dying world, so with the money, Alpheus took a merchant ship and came into this war-torn country to open a convenience store.

But the current question is, "Why are you here Ragel? "

Noticing his little brother's intense stare, Ragel smiled nonchalantly "Oh come on, why can't a caring older brother have a reason to not visit his little brother? "

"Oh really? tell me is the old man dying? "

Alpheus showed a happy smile, and even though what he said was quite cruel he also hated how Alpheus's family in this world treated him, always comparing him to his older siblings, it was their fault that drove him into madness just for their shed of glance and approval.

"Watch your word Alpheus, even if he was tough he was a good father"

"For you guys, he's good but for me? It's a meh" Alpheus just shrugged, he doesn't care if the old bastard would die, and besides, there is no such thing as familial love ever since he possessed this body.

Ragel sighed, he knew how jealous Alpheus is, but at the very least he thought that he would at least send a happy message to their dying father. "Fine, all right I admit he was quite uncaring"

"Quite? "

"I'm not here to bicker with you, I'm just saying that maybe you could write a letter or put in a good word for him, and I'll relay the message"

Alpheus smiled, he didn't want to write a letter to an uncaring bastard instead he rose a devious smile. "Tell the old man he could just fuck off, and also tell him that I would be delighted to appear at his funeral, now Ragel since I relayed the message you should also fuck off"

With a bright smile that showed no sadness upon hearing their father state. Ragel got pissed, he clenched his fists and walked away from the store gnashing his teeth at his little brother.

"Hehehe do visit me once again older brother! " Alpheus couldn't help but feel bliss when he saw the scowl on Ragel's face. "Hehe, that bastard deserves it! "

[Ding! Host an item has been stolen! ]

Hearing the short prompt of the system, Alpheus shuddered with sheer rage "What! What was stolen? "

[One of the small boxes of fruit candy has been stolen by your brother! Host, please hurry up and retrieve the item! ]

"That bastard no wonder he suddenly left, if it was him I would have been smacked to the head I thought he was just angry but he had the balls to steal from my store! "

"Close the shop this instant I'm running after that bastard! "

[Yes host! ]

Alpheus took the broom as he sprinted forward, he ran with all his might as he saw the silhouette of Ragel, Alpheus immediately swung the broom to hit Ragel's head. "I got you! you thieving bastard!"

"Oww! "

"What the heck man? "

"Eh? Eh? You're not Ragel? " Alpheus was immediately flustered he helped the man stand up and patted his clothes "I'm so sorry sir, I mistakenly thought you were my older brother I'm so sorry"

"Oww my head feels like it has a crack on it, you have to pay me for medical fees! "

Alpheus was already tearing up, he only had one percent of the revenue of the convenience store, and he was flat broke at the moment as there are no customers.

Hearing a faint whistle sound, Alpheus glanced at the corner where there stood a man, "You bastard! " Alpheus gnashed his teeth.

"See you, little brother! " Saluting Alpheus, Ragel opened a teleportation scroll as he glanced with a smile at his little brother.

"You bastard you thief give me back my product!! " As soon as Alpheus yelled Ragel left the vicinity with a smile as he teleported away.

"Arghh that thieving bastard!! "
