Chapter- 45 Era's condition gone worse.....

David was asleep in his room and Era crashed on the floor in the living room,

After taking a nap, his phone rang ...., he woke up and found himself covered with a blanket, "how could I fall asleep,"

his phone was ringing on the table where Era was fainted. He went to take his phone and check on Era, to see what she is doing, ... he was aghast to see Era collapsed on floor and ran to her,

" Era.... Era ... are you fine ", he took off her coat, but Eva was unconscious too, he lifted her in his arms and took her to the bed inside and checked , she was burning with high temperature, he gave her a shot of medicine,

His phone was ringing again and again so he went to see , he was shocked to see, it was the nurse who take cares of Era in the ICU, so he immediately answered,

"sir.... where are you please come here as soon as possible, she's not good...I am afraid she won't make it through the night... please come fast", she said, hanging up the phone...

His mind was completely blocked...he couldn't think anything, he calmed down and instantly called doctor John, he was the one who operated on her back then, and asked him to go and check on her ,

Now he needed to rush to the hospital but Eva was not in a stage to go along with him so he left with no other options, he called Ben and asked him to come to his house urgently.

He rushed to the hospital before Ben came .

When David reached the hospital, he ran to Era's room. It was all a mess , there were nurses rushing in and out , doctor John was giving her CPR , and the monitor showing no pulse .....he went in with a fear...

"Teeeeen....." the monitor showing no signs of heart beat...his heart crashed on seeing that Doctor John, stepped aside and said ,

" I did what ever I could David but I don't think...,"

he rushed to her and continued to give her CPR, ... shouting, " no....no...bring me the ECMO...fast..", one of the nurses brought ECMO, he started giving her heart electric shocks to bring back the heart beats, ...

"Stop it David don't , you are giving her only ..pain , we did whatever we could " said Doctor John...

" No...she can't go...I can't let her go...." he shouted and continued....

finally...the monitor showed a beep, everybody was shocked, ....her heart started beating again...

"She's back... that's a miracle, ...you made it David...you did it..." said doctor John amazingly.

David finally took a breath....,

Dr John came near her and checked on her..."it's good...it's even better David see she is able to breathe without ventilator....it's very good ,we must check the CT scan once , I am sure that there must be some possibilities," he turned back to her junior and said ," arrange a CT scan for her immedeately.

David was devastated....he thought," I did this to you ....I was careless.....I almost lost you... Era",

Doctor John saw him disturbed and said, "Don't worry David if there is life,so there is hope.... don't worry ," . He patted his shoulder, and went outside,

the nurse came to him and said ," sir please don't get your hopes down, I believe she will be fine , soon she'll live her life happily," she said and was leaving,

He called her, " tell me what exactly happened, ?"

She said, " I came to feed her usually, but I saw her moving, I was shocked to see that sir , so reported to the emergency doctor and called you but you didn't respond, he said that there must be something wrong , and she seems to be critical, so I called you again and again, I thought of calling Dr john, but he already arrived, at that time she had a cardiac arrest, and after that you saw it all",

"ok , you can go now" he said,

He sat beside Era holding her hands.

On receiving David's message,Ben thought he may be upset again, and just wanted a company, so Ben completed his work and then bought a beer bottle to cheer him up, and then went to his house, he couldn't understand, David always comes to his place, but why would he call Ben to his place. he came according to the address he sent and went inside.

David's house password was more complicated than him, Ben found it hard to remember , so he knocked the door , but there was no response, so he tried the bell but no reaction, he panicked that something must be wrong with him, so finally he checked his phone if David sent any message regarding the password, there was a message, as David knew that Ben would definitely forget the password, other than telling him in phone, he sent Ben a message too.

Ben finally opened the door, no one responded, he wandered around to see where he is .. but no one he went in his bed room, there he saw him sleeping on the bed covered with blanket, he came running,

"Hey David are you fine,? whats wrong?",

He removed the blanket and was shocked,..it was like a big ball hitting his head , he rubbed his eye twice and saw again, he thought , "am I going that crazy for her that even David looks like her to me", ...he touched her , "no....it's really her but why is she here.....and," he touched her forehead, it was burning hot, there was note sticked to the glass on the table , the name of the medicine given to her was written on it, Ben panicked and tried to call David but he was not in a condition to lift his phone,

Ben took a towel and wiped her sweat and tried to wake her up but she couldn't, he went to prepare something for her to eat , and made vegetable soup,

he took her in his arms and made her drink the soup, and take medicine and let her sleep , in unconciousness she held his hand so tightly, that he couldn't free himself, so he stayed like that whole night.

Era was stable now but her reports were yet to come, David came back from the hospital, and rushed in to the bed room to check on Eva, but the scene he saw there was not less than, a romantic movie, Eva was sleeping on Ben's chest, and he laid down his head on Eva's head, they were in a deep sleep, David made a grunting sound , and they opened there eyes , Eva was shocked to see herself in Ben's arms and was panicked , she saw David was standing there and smiling at them she was confused and was thinking about how to avoid this kind of awkward situation, so she pretended to faint again, Ben's hand was numb , David rushed to her but seeing her expressions he realised that she was just pretending to be fainted, and said,

" If you are done pretending, come out for breakfast, both of you", he left the room,

Ben came near her to check her temperature, but Eva kicked him and shouted, "get ...ooo..uuu..tt...!!!"

He ran out immediately and sighed ...he sat on the sofa stretching his hand to clear the numbness, David said sarcastically,

"I just told you to take care of her and you are ...",

Ben looked at him furiously, and said,

" I think we need to talk... isn't it? , "

" hmm.."said David.

Eva was still in shock ...she was thinking about ways to escape from there , without facing them,

"why my life is full of them.....uhh ....what can I do now ..how could I escape from here..??," ..she was in her own confusions, and her phone rang... ....and additionally to her problems , it was Steve , who was waiting for her outside the hospital gate, she checked the day it was Saturday....she shouted..and both of them ran inside...
